Wow, taking all the blame from the manager.. Anyone would think klopp had no input in mignolet getting a new deal.

Don't be so silly... Klopp likes mignolet. Accept it or if not lay the blame at his feet.

Maybe he just wanted to boost Mignolet's confidence and self esteem at a key time with a new contract that also boosts his sell-on value. I'm sure we're still looking for a dominant keeper to be honest.

Can't just blame the defence - 14 efforts with nine of those off target is not good enough either - we're very wayward in front of goal and our goals per attempt ratio must be shocking.

Not sure how the club can ignore a walk out every home game.

Estimated 10k on two days notice. The powers that be need to talk to the supporters groups.

I'll start and jump on the "Klopp out" bandwagon if you think it will do any good. Personally, I don't think he'll be around for long (more likely to resign than be sacked), but again, he was hired by FSG. Does Klopp really have such appalling judgement that he lobbied the board to give Mignolet a new contract? If so, he probably should walk now, followed by Henry.

The club is suffering from the results of continuous poor decision making. Employing snake oil salesman Rodgers, keeping him on during the close season after a disasterous campaign, giving him millions to waste on players during the summer, only to sack him after 6 weeks of the new season. Then employing Klopp, who had an extremely limited CV, when we could've had Ancelotti in during the close season, and give him time to get some decent players in.

The best fans can hope for is that FSG pay for and finish the stand extension, and then sell the club to some rich Arabs.

After today's debacle, I can see exactly how the fan walkout coninciding with the team collapsing will all be played out by the suits in Boston.

Probably should have left Danny Ward at Aberdeen if we were just going to leave him on the bench while Mignolet continues to cost us points. He seemed to be doing well up there.

I think it was another tactic by Klopp to put some pressure on Mig as Bogdan certainly wasn't - hopefully this latest display may convince the manager to start Ward in the odd game - starting Tuesday if that's possible.

Not exactly earning his new contract, is he?

Ancelotti took a break after leaving real to have surgery so no he wasn't going anywhere for a year.

Can't wait to see him and Coutinho linking up again. It was good before but now Firmino is starting to settle, could be something special!

It's going to be embarrassing, it's going to get messy and I don't know how it will end. I hope the club do amend their ticket costs, but I doubt they will give up their chase for more income and will look to get that cash back on the books with increases elsewhere.”

Maybe it did. Comfortable 2 nil lead, then the walk out starts and then 2-2. As social media has reported it was nice of Mignolet to walk out with the fans, well he may as well have!
A few comments to posts since I was last on - not sure why those defending the decision not to buy in Jan automatically think we will get our men in the summer? The way most of our transfer targets go I'm no more confident that we will get who we really want in the summer. We wont pay over inflated prices whether it be Jan or the summer and at this minute we are not that great a prospect to join. The klopp effect has not really happened (get well soon Jurgen).
Sturridge - I really hope these recent newspaper reports are incorrect he owes us more than to spit his dummy out over fans comments and comments the manager may have made about his injuries. He'd have to be an idiot to not realise that at 140 grand a week he has not been value for money since Suarez left, time to earn his wages not sulk!
Ward - I agree with the comment about why bring him back from his good stint at Aberdeen to not be given a chance despite Migs constant poor performances (penalty shoot out aside). - Giving Mignolet a new 5 year contract was/is bizarre - you do not give a new improved contract to a player just to give him a boost (as claimed above)?
To lose a 2 goal lead v 2nd bottom club Sunderland is so so poor, bottom club AV next up, who knows, is it poss that we only take 1 point from games against the bottom 2 clubs, perhaps for sure.
We have to beat WHU in the cup now, cups are all we have to appease us.

They could have been responsible for us not winning today, it obviously had an effect on the players, I'm not saying they're not right to protest, but they should have found another way of doing it.

The club obviously wanted Klopp in the Summer, but as he had declared himself unavailable they were forced to stick with Rodgers. The humiliating way we finished last season I felt Rodgers should have been sacked then, but only if we had a suitable replacement.
If results don't improve we're going to end up in the relegation zone, not signing any significant players during the transfer window was a disaster.

Square Root - I have a big issue with 2 opinions which you have posted - 1) Klopp had a limited CV, 2) Klopp will walk away soon.

(1) is factually rubbish - he had won the German title twice against a club with massive resources whilst never paying more than 20m for a player and took that club to the CL final. (2) is a matter of opinion but if you look at his career you will see a man who stays at clubs and is a very loyal man so it would surprise me greatly if he did leave tho of course it may happen as none of us know the future. I think most of agree that he was perhaps the best manager we could have got in the circumstances and I still believe that he is a great fit for LFC.

I do not think you can judge him on this season at all as it is very much a learning curve for him - about the club, the squad and the PL. It is hard (as I like all of us hate us being so poor) but I do think rather than focussing on the poor results we have we should look at the bigger picture and after the summer's coming and goings will be a better time to begin to evaluate JK and his possible impact at LFC

Who will he keep? Who of the injured players will become key players? Who will he bring in? What funds will FSG give him? (as it is unlikely a big sale will fund the buys as it has done a few times recently with Torres, Suarez and Sterling). Even then I think most of us think that it will take more than one window to sort it out but I think what we are looking for is a sign of improvement when the team plays next August, September.

Today again highlighted what is a worry for me - Mignolet - to me a better keeper is a must and yet JK seems to want Mig as his number one judging by the new contract - I just hope that in the summer we do see a new man in and MIg becomes number 2. In fact I would like to see Danny Ward play and think the WH replay could be a good chance to give him a try.

Goodness knows where we will finish this season - I am fearing our lowest for 50+ years - under 8th but it will not be in the relegation places so in some ways it does not matter. We are still in 3 cups so lets hope we can win one - and we have shown V MCFC, CFC and Ston that we can play so it is not impossible at all. I can definitely see arguments for not being in Europe so we can be fresher for the PL campaign and the 2 domestic cups next season - the only down side would be if that stopped certain players joining.

So yeah today = another bad day but we have plenty of them recently - remember last season under BR - 6-1 at Stoke (5-0 down at HT) or having 4 against at AFC in a total mauling or losing to MUFC at home and having no passion at all or not turning up in an FAC semi or playing 8 times in Europe and being rubbish every time or losing at home to CP in SGs last game at Anfield .... I could go on but you get the picture!! Compare all this to the season before - 9-0 on agg V THFC or 4-0 up V AFC at Anfield after 20 minutes, winning 3-0 at OT when it should have been more, the 4-0 win V EFC at Anfield, scoring 6 at Cardiff 5 at Stoke ...etc. Being a LFC fan is a roller coaster ride and lets hope its not too long before we are on the up again - I do still think despite today that under JK there is room for optimism

As for Klopp winning the Bundesliga twice. . . .

Maybe, for a coach, it's better to be lucky than a good manager.
Carlo Ancelotti

While we can't defend even to a basic level, and this has only really come in since Klopp's arrival, there's no hope. Defending hasn't been good at the club for a long time now, as was pointed out to me when I said the above the other day, but there's a big difference between not good and what it is now.

I, and plenty of others would've liked to have see at least some activity in the transfer window as an admission from Klopp and the board that the squad is neither good or deep enough. Riddled from top to bottom with injuries, some of them long term, the squad was desperate. A new keeper and a striker were needed, but nothing. Not even a realistic target.

The club is now so far away from the top table that I see nothing more than years of mid table mediocrity, no European football for years, which to be frank is probably a blessing, and a once great club dependent on the domestic cup competitions for silverware.

You only have to see the state that AC Milan and Inter are in now to see where Liverpool are heading.

Oh FFS! I really do despair at times. You lot call yourselves fans?? I'm shocked at the venom in here.

Klopp took over a squad that has just been riddled with injuries, we had a whole team in the freaking sick bay at one point.

I doubt in reality that very few in the current squad would make any selection choice for Klopp - these are Rodgers players, and you honestly can't make a silk purse from a sows ear.

As for the last transfer window, there was nothing going that he felt was right, what was he to do? Get another Carroll? Benteke? Balotelli? You'd have preferred that to nothing?

Give the man a chance, I'm as disappointed as hell today, but I will judge him at the end of NEXT season, when he's had a chance to do his own thing.

He was the one good thing about today. His touch and desire to win the ball back was awesome. As I posted a little while back, he seems to play a hell of a lot better when he's the number 9, but he is lacking quality around him. Perhaps he's the one Klopp will look to build the attack around come the summer.

As for the defence, it's hard to know where to start. I've never had faith in Mignolet but it looks like we're stuck with him. Moreno has been poor all season, so it might be time to look for a new left back if he doesn't start defending better. Clyne has been pretty good on the whole so he's still got my trust for now. Sakho was at fault for Sunderland's equaliser but I think he can still be part of the team long-term if we sign a top centre back to play alongside him.

Talk of sacking Klopp is absolute madness. He's the best manager we could have possibly hoped to get and he deserves just as much time as Rodgers got.
