As for Klopp winning the Bundesliga twice. . . .
Maybe, for a coach, it's better to be lucky than a good manager. Carlo Ancelotti While we can't defend even to a basic level, and this has only really come in since Klopp's arrival, there's no hope. Defending hasn't been good at the club for a long time now, as was pointed out to me when I said the above the other day, but there's a big difference between not good and what it is now. I, and plenty of others would've liked to have see at least some activity in the transfer window as an admission from Klopp and the board that the squad is neither good or deep enough. Riddled from top to bottom with injuries, some of them long term, the squad was desperate. A new keeper and a striker were needed, but nothing. Not even a realistic target. The club is now so far away from the top table that I see nothing more than years of mid table mediocrity, no European football for years, which to be frank is probably a blessing, and a once great club dependent on the domestic cup competitions for silverware. You only have to see the state that AC Milan and Inter are in now to see where Liverpool are heading. So until Klopp has a fair crack at getting the right players in and the striker issue is resolved (new signings, Sturridge and Ings fit), we should not judge him - his last season at Dortmond did worry me a bit but I concede he kept losing key players. He'll make changes in the summer to most areas of the team if the owners give him the scope to do so. We do have some talented players but there's an evident lack of pace, goals and bravery in the side and I'm sure Klopp will address those shortcomings. I still think our board and the suits below them are getting an easy ride in terms of the playing staff - the way we recruit and the manner of our negotiations. The wax we let Alli slip between our fingers haunts me more and more the more I see him have an impact on Spurs' progress - it was abundantly clear at MK Dons he was well worth the £5m asking price. On the plus side, City are looking very vulnerable and their fixture list can only help us too in our chances at Wembley, especially if we can get some of our injured players back. It would be also nice to win our last league game until March at Villa next Sunday - if we don't, that will be further damnation of some aspects of our team right now. |

Oh FFS! I really do despair at times. You lot call yourselves fans?? I'm shocked at the venom in here.
Klopp took over a squad that has just been riddled with injuries, we had a whole team in the freaking sick bay at one point. I doubt in reality that very few in the current squad would make any selection choice for Klopp - these are Rodgers players, and you honestly can't make a silk purse from a sows ear. As for the last transfer window, there was nothing going that he felt was right, what was he to do? Get another Carroll? Benteke? Balotelli? You'd have preferred that to nothing? Give the man a chance, I'm as disappointed as hell today, but I will judge him at the end of NEXT season, when he's had a chance to do his own thing. As for the team I really do think it's difficult for a team to go forward with confidence if a goalkeeper makes continuous errors. |

You only have to see the state that AC Milan and Inter are in now to see where Liverpool are heading. People keep replying to the kind of points you make - it is not JKs team it is BRs so once he brings in some of his own signings then we can start evaluating it which won't be till after the summer. The defending to me is no better or no worse than under BR - we all agree it is not good enough but with different personnel I am sure JK can improve it - even just by bringing in one man to organise it (like Alderweirald did at Spurs for example). But you choose to ignore people who answer your points and seemingly condemn the man after he has not even had a proper transfer window. People are too impatient these days. Yes I too would have liked to see some brought in during January but if the ones you want are not available then why sign people for signings sake? - after the summer is when we can really assess matters. I would not be at all surprised if some of the summer deals have already been lined up - as Jurgen himself said you have to trust him. Yes we know at present we at the level of a mid table team but I am hopeful that it won't be for long - after all we had the nearly season after being lowish the season before and both Spurs and Leicester are doing well this season having been nowhere near last season so a top 4 finish after a mid table season is easily possible. With the chance to bring in the right recruits and do the necessary pre season preparation next summer. I think Klopp has the right to expect that LFC fans will give him the time needed to try to address the many issues in our squad over the next year or two - and I am sure 99% of our fans will do |

Mignolet's personal faults have cost us 15 points, that is horrifying if true

West Ham could say the same after failing to score against ten men for so long. I'm hoping Sturridge and a few other returning players freshen things up along with MVP hungrier younger players. That's called optimism - you should try it some day...

It's hard to be optimistic as a Liverpool fan, I'll be honest I'm dreading that final.

We're in the final, seems obvious but anything can happen, and we're good at finals, even if we do like to make things difficult for ourselves. We've done well against City this season since Klopp's taken over, and actually we haven't done so bad against the bigger sides since he's come in. And, without wanting to tempt fate, we could well have Sturridge available then...and Aguero might not be.

Rumors are the club are looking at the new ticket prices.
If true should be applauded for listening. Still really disappointing that they are supposed to be one of the clubs that vetoed the flat rate of £30 for all away fans no matter what the game. No excuse for that!!! |

Looks like Klopp could be available for our FA Cup game against West Ham on Tuesday.
There might be a temptation to bring Sturridge on at some point, but perhaps he'll just get a couple games on the bench as an unused sub. |

Klopp discharged himself from hospital and has already given an interview - now that's what you call dedication to the game. Had his appendix removed and less than 48 hours later was back working - respect!

He was probably lucky and it wasn't too big to remove via the less intrusive small incision route - nine was about to blow, they gutted me like a fish and I got the mother of all infections - I wonder if he went private...

I doubt he'll play the full game though, due to having his appendix out

Oh, I see, because he's German you think he can score the winning penalty?
...I'm part German, do you think I'd get a go? Nothing to do with him being German, but due to him only having had his appendix removed! If you've had yours out in the last couple of days, and are part German, you might just manage a go, but only as a sub!

Not directly LFC, but looks like our Neighbours will be taken over by American owners in the next few weeks.

They didn't provide a source, and don't know where exactly they'd get this kinda stat from, but someone on FB said: Quote:
Simon Mignolet has conceded as many goals (14), as he has made saves in the Premier League in 2016.
Not a stat that fills you with confidence!

I wonder what will be viewed as an acceptable increase in the ticket price? Sky sports news have been reporting a table of the most expensive tickets at each club. At present the £59 tickets are the 5th highest in the league. Increasing the price to £77 would still have made them the fifth highest behind Spurs at £81.
I'm glad to hear they are reviewing the costs, but I have my doubts that it will be as easy as bringing the price down to circa £60. There will be a determination to increase match day revenue as much as possible; that's how they'll see extra wages being funded. I'd expect price increases in the shops and bars to make up for the lower ticket income. I'd also guess there might be other supporter associations have taken notice at how powerful a well organised and committed walkout can be and might think their own clubs prices could do with a "review" . |

According to the Echo, Sturridge and Benteke are set to start tomorrow.
Could be an interesting partnership. That might see Firmino on the bench or rested until the weekend. I just checked, we have Aston Villa on Sunday. We have to win that one! Although I remember last season when I think it was December they only had like 8 goals or something, and one of them was against us. |

There is a buzz that Couts and Origi might play a bit too, more than a buzz really, came from Klopp himself.
Won't be surprised to see them on the bench tomorrow, be a great forward move for us. |
