A highly technical side against Villa will expose them - would like to see Chirivella and Teixeira on the bench too. If we can get Sturidge and Coutinho on the pitch together regularly again, we'll start winning again. And Brad Smith should have replaced Moreno weeks ago with Flanagan pushing for a place on the other side too.

One thing very noticeable was that the kids move the ball far quicker than the senior players do. The likes of Henderson, Milner, Lallana all take multiple touches and holding onto the ball for too long. The kids take the ball and pass as soon as possible. Look so much better when the ball is moved quickly.

The claims of Sturridge being mentally weak really are laughable. His the most confident player in the league. Different class.

fair play to WHU...we threw everything we had at them, Studge, Coutinho, Benteke ?, Origi...not Firminho mind, and we played well but not well enough to beat them.

Entirely Lucas' fault. He gave away at least two cheap and needless free kicks by putting his hands in the back of West Ham player. He knows the player's going to milk it for all it's worth, and he knows the referee will give it.

Again, unable to defend a simple set piece. Mignolet's positioning again terrible for the second goal. He's so far across his right hand side that all he can do is watch the ball come back past him. He's got no clue about angles.

As for Benteke, he can just pack his bags and go now. Will never be good enough to wear the shirt.
Not entirely his fault at all, the WHU player does his dying swan act, a easy free kick is given, we don't defend it, we miss our many chances but it's entirely Lucas's fault? Have a word with yourself - Lucas was immense last night playing a role he doesn't play often alongside a rookie and they restricted West Ham to about 3 real chances, 2 of which they took.

Lucas & Ilori had great games, yes Ilori got lucky with the pull on Valencia, but Lucas's hand in the back was nothing. The ref gave them easy free kicks, the guy who threw himself on top of Origi yet it was their foul? Carroll muscles into Ilori who holds his ground - their foul, Lucas puts his hands on the back of their player as he is backing in to him a bit, happens all the time, their foul! Referee's should dismiss those exaggerated falls and play on, unfortunately for us he never.

I thought Stewart had a great game too, Sturridge showing what we have been missing.

The only downs for me (excluding the actual loss of course) were Benteke & Mignolet.
Benteke could have had that game won for us well before their last second goal, could and should, esp that 1 on 1 chance, 32m should buy you that!

Yes, just like he didn't let it go when awarding the free-kick that lead to the equaliser.

Really. We played well tonight. We had relatively novices out there and for me were the better side. Far from mediocre tonight. West ham is a difficult place to win.

Also yes Lucas shouldn't of done that but he was excellent tonight and for me is twice the captain Henderson is.

I hope Stewart gets some game time in the league. Gives us some bite in there.
I agree with all of the above, we played pretty good overall, shame capt'n Lucas give Valencia the option to go down like he'd been shot, he'd done it pre that touch already, but no way should Lucas be the scapegoat as he was excellent in that CB position overall and for me showed the leadership qualities required of your captain. Hendo sadly lacking in that dept for me.

Stewart has come on leaps and bounds since his 1st appearance, good progress been made. I haven't been as convinced by Chirivella though.

I was working out the penalty takers for us when that final minute goal went it

Lucas isn't entirely to blame for the loss.

His not to blame at all. No single player is ever to blame.

I must be unusual among LFC fans in that I did not see most of last nights game as I had to go out. I put it on record and when I got in and parked on the drive (at about 10) I asked my wife to go in first and she came out and told me the match was still going on - so I went in and watched - this was from about 10 minutes to go till the end so I had the misfortune to see the goal - and then I also watched the after match highlights and interviews along with the pundits input. I did not bother watching the 110 minutes I missed and have deleted it

The result was disappointing yes, but it was not a disaster and again there were hopeful signs from some of the fringe payers and seeing some higher profile players come back from injury and now at least we will not have quite so many games so maybe we can do better in the Capital One Cup final and the EL.

I think many of us are forming views about the squad - those who should be kept and are quality, those who could do a job and who we would not mind keeping, those the jury is out on and those we definitely want to go or who at least should have very limited first team chances in the future. Actually I would say there are not too many in the latter category but the stand out 2 who are for me are Mignolet and Benteke. A new keeper in the summer is a must for me and given that we have far better options in the striker department now I do not see Benteke playing much.

The interesting issue for me is the way some fringe players like Smith, Brannagan, Stewart, Flanagan and perhaps Illori and Texeira are better in many ways than the established stars - yes I am looking at you Moreno, Lallana and perhaps even Hendo, Milner and Can - will Klopp pick them or not in the PL? I hope so as now frankly we have almost no chance of top 4 so the results are not really that important any more and we need to see these players in the PL to begin to assess whether they can do it for us at that level in the future.

Are people absolutely sure, though, that they won't simply implement an increase of some sort in a more hidden way?

Perhaps it's the cynic in me but I find it hard to believe that this has been dropped this without any ifs or buts.

Brilliant news about the tickets, I just hope that the owners don't play nasty and reduce Klopp's spending in the summer to compensate.

Great news. Well done FSG.

Feel so proud to be a Liverpool fan. Yet again we've shown how much of a force we can be and how we always make sure our voices are heard when we strongly believe in something.

YNWA!

I doubt they would be able to get away with anything now in terms of backhanded or deceptive increase in ticket prices, and I wouldnt have thought they would try.

They are a business though and will look at other ways to cover for that increase in revenue, which is within their right... People say how its only the tourist or occasional fans who buy stuff in the club shop and fans seem to have less empathy with them, so maybe the second away kits goalkeeper top will be put up in price...

LFC clothing is expensive as it is. They might increase that price or training kits, or they'll increase the price on the corporate hospitality, like the already expensive 330ml bottled water.

Other clubs supporters need to take heed. I think there are chairman up and down the country worried they could suffer the same treatment.

Very good that they are have abandoned all match categorisation but what will be the price for all games? It's a good start from FSG but still prices can get lower.

Secondly the fans need to keep with the demands for the flat rate for all away games. Disgusting that Liverpool rejected this.

Liverpool fans have shown to every club in England and Scotland how much power fans can have.

I hope other fans do the same. Ticket prices are too high and need to come down.

I'm very pleased with FSG today to be fair, They have acted decisively and now the fans can concentrate on getting behind the team/manager/owners and hopefully bring a cup home this season.

Two new shirts per season for both home and away. £70 a shirt.

Remember, fans aren't fans. They're customers.

pssst. . .£10 each on Alibaba!

Opening football's eyes to the dormant power of the fans and hopefully starting a revolution ensuring clubs look at their "customers" a different way - viburnum MVP fault and we're damn proud of it.

Although to be fair, I could only walk out of my living room. But the thought was these...
