I don't think Ibe will go on loan and what's the point sending him away again? The club brought him back early last season for a reason. The management clearly believe his ready and another loan deal seems counter productive to me.

Ibe got little game time last season, but when he did come on he showed he was certainly good enough for the first team. I would be annoyed if he was sent out on loan, with the Euro games coming up he's a perfect fit - at the very least, to slot in for those.

Ibe majorly impressed me in the few games he played in for us after his return from loan
I'd be disappointed to see him loaned out again |

Ibe does need as many top class competitive games as he can get. With Lallana, Markovic and a possible Sterling replacement all competing for places in our team, even considering cup games and the EL, he might really struggle for minutes on the pitch.
Although it's really sad to see all our youngsters being continually loaned out season after season; Wisdom, Ilori, Alberto, Ibe, Texeira, McLaughlin... . Yes, loaning out for development time is vital for younger players, but it must be a bit depressing for them when it's so hard to make it into a first team squad and settle down. Part of me completely understands why Sinclair wants to move on. |

Hmmm I wasn't convinced. I think people are willing him to do well because of the fume over Sterling. I remember the Newcastle game for one where he was terrible. Obviously a youngster is going to be up and down but at this moment Sterling is in a different league.
Game time for a premier league club is exactly what he needs. Sterling had some shockers himself when he was brought in. |

Very true but at the moment they are very far apart.
In fact we have some excellent youngsters, as is being noted by BR who's taken 10 on the tour with him. Watch the match this afternoon and you might be surprised |

Well yes, Sterling was voted best young player in Europe, Ibe wasn't, so he won't be as good, but he could be better given the chance. I do not want to see him sent out on loan, he's better than that now., and has a far superior attitude than Sterling.

Didn't see the game today, but the biggest story I'm seeing coming out of the match appears to be that Divock Origi played superbly well in the 2nd half. Hopefully that is the case, and hopefully that continues as we begin to play more competitive matches.

Well Liverpool won't be signing benteke. Can't see us paying 32m. Then again we did pay 34m for carroll but I just can't see it happening. Question is will man u?

Recorded the game to watch when I got home from work, then on the way home (about 4pm), I stupidly looked on this thread completely forgetting that we'd played!
Luckily no one had posted the result by that time so I didn't spoil the result for myself! As for the game, meh. bit boring, I would have liked to have seen more youths get a chance, they were all there and sat on the bench so I don't see why none of them got a run out. I enjoyed watching Maguire in the second half, he put some good balls into the box. Would have liked to have seen the likes of Ojo and Wilson. Friday should be tougher test and I can watch that game live as I'm off so I'm looking forward to that!

Just seen the highlights of the game. Awful conditions (terrible pitch, torrential rainfall in the 2nd half) but it was good to see some of the new boys get a run out. Lallana and Origi took their goals well but the standard of the opposition was very poor.

As with many things the debate about Jordan Ibe sees views at both ends of the spectrum but to me the truth is somewhere in between.
I do think there is every chance he could end up better than Sterling. His attitude is far better, he does not seem overawed by the occasion - see authoritative run in his first derby game, he is strong on the ball and works hard on the pitch. An awful lot of the best things RS did the previous season were cos of the influence of Suarez but there was the odd really good thing he did himself such as the long shot goal at Norwich, the goal V MCFC at Anfield and this season the goals V CFC n the Carling Cup and the one V NUFC (but who did not score V NUFC!!). I also recall missed open goals, frequent falling over, OTT diving. hopeless shooting - weakly straight at he keeper, rubbish crossing and often giving the ball away so based on last season RS to me is not that good. I see Kilbane laughably has said he was our best player last season - what was he watching? But I admit to say he is rubbish is unfair as potentially he has shown he could be great - I am honestly not sure he will get in the MCFC team and still think for his career he would have been better staying - but he's gone now so lets forget him!! However Ibe has yet to score a single goal for LFC yet and Sterling has even had some decent displays at international level so I think those putting Ibe above Sterling are being a bit deluded but in time he may well be - what is clear is that his attitude is way above RSs and I really want him to succeed. How much game time at the highest level he will get I worry about when I look at our squad - but even so I am not sure I want him out on loan again |

Not directly LFC related, but just read that Downing is set to return to Middlesbrough.

![]() Thought a PL club might have gone for him, especially one of the newly-promoted clubs, would have been a great signing I think for one of them. |

It looks like Liverpool are gonna get benteke. He's a good player but should we be paying 32m or should we strengthen our defence? We certainly seem to be spending big this summer though. I just hope it pays off.

Last year he was left with Balotelli or nobody. If his convinced Benteke will work in the side then for the sake of 3-4 mil the club are right to just get the deal done. Not sure we need more defenders. Seem to have a lot of numbers in defence |
