Was thinking central. Lovren needs to improve this season. Sakho can be good but also a liability at times. I think clyne could be a good signing. We have 5 forwards although not sure if balotelli and Lambert will be sold. Looking forward to seeing origi play. Saw him in world cup and he looked a good player.
I, too, saw a glimpse of a decent player. But from the clips I've seen over the last year at Lille, I haven't been impressed. But i'd gladly take him as back-up at the club over Lambert, Balotelli and Ings. |

A lot of players have a good one-off World Cup. Especially, when entering a dysfunctional first-team. He wasn't very productive prior to signing for Liverpool, nor after at club level.

I think its too high but if the Manager really wants him then the club should get him.
Last year he was left with Balotelli or nobody. If his convinced Benteke will work in the side then for the sake of 3-4 mil the club are right to just get the deal done. Not sure we need more defenders. Seem to have a lot of numbers in defence |

It looks like Liverpool are gonna get benteke. He's a good player but should we be paying 32m or should we strengthen our defence? We certainly seem to be spending big this summer though. I just hope it pays off.
It's not his fault that Villa put that price on him. Could be a good signing. Only Aguero has scored more than him of the current PL strikers. |

How many more players could come in realistically? I'm thinking if we get Benteke one more max.
Have to start selling. |

Have to start selling. A possible replacement for Sterling, but maybe Ibe will be given a few months to try and prove himself. Then after that you're looking at the lesser possibilities: a left back if Enrique leaves ( Augustinsson was a rumour a few weeks ago and he'd certainly provide some competition to keep Moreno on his toes), and a defensive midfielder, hopefully to complement rather than replace Lucas ( Gary Medel now attractimg the media's attention for this spot) |

Danny Ward had an excellent game in the Europa League tonight, another clean sheet for him.

Can't see any CL club being interested as barca wouldn't allow him to play. |

Starting 11 v Brisbane Roar:
Mingolet// Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Gomez// Lucas, Henderson, Milner, Lallana// Ings, Origi. I'm guessing the 442 diamond, but it could possibly be a 433 with Lallana and Origi playing wider. |

Joe Gomez could be a big player for us. He's been the most impressive player out there in this friendly, his positional sense is spot on. And at left back, no less!

Quick question, if as now seems likely that you sign Benteke, where will be fit into your team?
Will he be first choice or be a sub when Sturridge is fit? Or will you play them both together? |
