A lot of players have a good one-off World Cup. Especially, when entering a dysfunctional first-team. He wasn't very productive prior to signing for Liverpool, nor after at club level.

I, too, saw a glimpse of a decent player. But from the clips I've seen over the last year at Lille, I haven't been impressed. But i'd gladly take him as back-up at the club over Lambert, Balotelli and Ings.

I know they always say never buy a player based on performances in world cups but I'm hoping under BR he'll turn into a top quality player. Whether it's this season I'm not sure. I would definitely take him and benteke over them.

Would only being in a defender if lovren is moved on. If not then don't see how there is any room for another CB.

Should Man a city have paid 49m for Sterling? To me prices for England based players are double what they should be. No one would complain if Benteke was a 16-17m signing.

Then after that you're looking at the lesser possibilities: a left back if Enrique leaves ( Augustinsson was a rumour a few weeks ago and he'd certainly provide some competition to keep Moreno on his toes), and a defensive midfielder, hopefully to complement rather than replace Lucas ( Gary Medel now attractimg the media's attention for this spot)
