I though that ^^ was a joke, but no, and it's a good strong team out too! Go Flanno, totally chuffed for you!

Liverpool: Mignolet, Flanagan, Lovren, Sakho, Clyne, Can, Allen, Lallana, Coutinho, Origi, Sturridge.

Subs: Ward, Toure, Benteke, Henderson, Skrtel, Smith, Ojo.

Southampton: Forster; Martina, Van Dijk, Fonte, Bertrand; Clasie, Romeu; Tadi?, Long, Davis; Pellè.

Subs: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Yoshida, Mane, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Juanmi.

Game on!

I have read (or glanced through in some cases) 4 books by or about SAF all published since April 15th 1989 - his 2 biographies, The Boss and If you are second you are nothing - and in none of them is a single word of support for LFC about Hillsborough as far as i can recollect so I am not sure i can accept all this 'SAF was supportive over Hillsborough'. propaganda. You say it is behind the scenes? - so how do you know about it then? I do think some kind of public display of support for LFC and the families on his behalf could have been helpful to heal some of the hatred that exists

I accept I could be wrong and if any of you have copies of those 4 books and can find the page number of any supportive about Hillsborough quote I will readily acknowledge my mistake. Or maybe there is a youtube clip with his support on - or a LFC person talking about what SAF did, or one of the 96 familes talking about him - , that will do as well. Its just that I need to see or hear some evidence for these claims. - all i read from him about our club is criticism of how the LFC captain runs or how the former captain was never a top player and such like

EFC is a totally different matter - the support from them has been better than any club in the world - much respect for Kenwright is due there.

All I have said is about BD is that they have consistently been the most supportive foreign club re Hillsborough - which is true

Great to see Flanno captain! I thought we were playing lots of youngsters when I saw that news.

To me that is a statement that JK believes in Flanagan a lot and he will be here for many years to come! Hope so, we need a bit of local grit and determination!

Have a good feeling about today's game, don't want to get ahead of myself but I'm feeling fairly confident

So alancracker 's most hated figure in football is Sir Alex Ferguson yet you have chosen to read 4 books on him? How incredibly odd.

I'm having Sunday dinner with family and am not going to dig out page references but Ian Are spoke of the support Ferguson offered Dalglish and the whole club in the aftermath and how he personally arranged for United fans to travel to lay flowers and scarves.

That was a penalty. Clumsy from Loren

Nice strike from distance.

Sturridge had an age to shoot there!

Brilliant counter attack.

Looked like it initially, close, but the ref got it right.

0 - 2 up already.

Another 2 and we will be level on points and goal difference with Man United but ahead of them alphabetically.

He put his arms on long. Once he does that the player has been impeded

We'd be ahead of them on goals scored.
This has definitely been one of our favourite grounds in recent seasons.

Correct offside decision. Unfortunate but correct.

Quote from the BBC - "He is looking for it, he got the wrong side of Lovren, he is going across him. I think it is not a penalty, he has got it spot on, he has run in to Lovren."

I concur, anyway it was deemed not.

Shame about Joe's goal.

A lot more comfortable than I thought it would be.

Joe Allen has been fantastic. We look like we can score everytime we break on them.

Very happy with that! That's now 15 goals scored in our last 5 (4 and a half) away league games!

Man City beat United later and we could go above them! That would be a nice way to end the week after knocking them out of Europe

Quite the difference Allen makes compared to Henderson in the sense Allen only requires one touch to turn so these breaks are not unnecessary slowed down.

Good first half on balance. Felt Lovren was fortunate not to give away a penalty but after that we've been by far the better side. Southampton just haven't looked at it and we've taken advantage. Should probably be 3 or 4 up but as long as we get the 3 points from here I don't mind!

Allen manages to hit the target as well more often than not. Great first touch on him in front of goal.

Ridiculous defending from Skrtel. His always doing that.

Great save from Mignolet

Skrtel's a bit like Moreno. When the talent runs out the fouls come thick and fast!

Sloppy from Flanagan giving the ball away there. Left us exposed but that was a great finish.

They've been all over us so far in this 2nd half... Flanagan gives the ball away in a bad area and it's 2-1.
Parthenon

We've absolutely bottled it. They came out 2nd half all fired up and we've not dealt with it at all.
