After our fourth goal a few from the front row in the disabled seats jumped up. We really do work miracles! I put it down to the Welsh Jesus. ![]() ![]() It was the carers or companions of the disabled spectators who jumped up. Sadly, even Anfield cannot perform miracles for the disabled. |

Tomorrow we remember the 96 who lost their lives far too soon 27 years ago. It'll be the last time the Hillsborough memorial service is held at Anfield.
Players, managers, coaches and supporters. You did their spirit proud tonight. |

Good tie, second leg at home too. Still Villarreal are a solid team themselves, so there will be no room for complacency.

I was born after the Hillsborough disaster so have no first-hand experience. My dad says a cousin he didn't really know died at the disaster. In Liverpool everyone seems to have some sort of connection to it. It either affected you, or someone you know, or someone they know. You're never far away from someone who was there or has felt the pain the disaster caused.
It's not a Liverpool FC disaster, and it wasn't caused by the fans despite what some idiots like to think, it was a football disaster that could've happened to anyone. It was simply the luck (or bad luck) of the draw. Everton could've been there instead that day and it could've happened to them. It's nice to see some of the tributes and respect from the footballing world, including Sunderland, Cafu, Fernando Torres, Manchester United, and as usual Everton and non-LFC fans. |

Was at a work thing last night that I couldn't avoid.
Had to keep track quietly via my score app - it was like the old Ceefax days! And I was sitting next to an Evertonian, with a few others popping by to rub it in early on...When it went into stoppage time at 3-3 I was just refreshing the app like a maniac but expecting it to say dull time - and then it said 4-3! ![]() Got back home today and notice the BT app has the full game available so I can watch it in all it's glory tonight! Can't wait... |

A decent draw for us. There's no easy tie at this stage so getting the home leg is a big advantage. I feel more cofident about this than Dortmund. This really is a huge opportunity for the club now.

Well the memorial service went well. It had a higher turnout than I thought it'd have, more than it did last year. Went as well as it could've done. They had to hold back what they wanted to say because of the inquests. There are things they were planning on saying but because of the inquests they had to refrain from saying stuff. What was said was enough though, from all the people speaking.

There are no words for that
Please can some of our more impatient fans try to stop themselves posting negative stuff about the team during the match -- this was very evident last night and it so annoys me. Haven't you ever learnt not go give up and that the game lasts 90 minutes? Yes I too felt down after 10 minutes and when they made it 1-3 but I kept believing - as we all should - and look how it ended. In many ways I may even be prepared to admit that we were a bit lucky to win as BD are clearly a classy side but in the end our fighting spirit got us home. Then today the service - so moving and it is so good that we are near to the truth being fully out in the open. So many heroes in that campaign - Phil Scraton the author of 'Hillsborough the truth' - (if you have not read it you should) who was one of the key people on the Independent Group who was there today being one of the main ones. In my eyes his rigorous research more than perhaps anything else exposed the truth and in the end people believed what was written. Bishop James Jones also spoke well today - the chair of the Hillsborough Independent Group. Good to see many key LFC figures there - shame SG, Rafa and Luis as far as I know were not - but they all were there in spirit - altho Lawrenson being so prominent struck a bad note given his less than helpful stance over the years. Many will know I retired as a teacher in the summer of 2013 and in my classroom above the board I put a scarf with 'Justice for the 96' on. When I left I told my successor (who was a mate and had been my deputy - and he is a football fan so understood the issue - Cardiff fan) that he could change anything in the Maths department (I was Head of Maths) but the one thing I would be gutted about would be if I learnt that he had taken down was that scarf. I hope he kept his word as it is something I feel passionately about as I love to take the chance to educate people on what happened on April 15th 1989 and why we LFC fans feel so strongly about it. |

I put Anthony Martial in my Mondogoal team. Was thinking of going for Marcus Rashford. I stuck with Martial. Martial doesn't play. Rashford scores. Good thing they managed to get just one goal against a poor Aston Villa so I didn't miss out too much.
I also had Defoe though so it's not so bad. smile emoticon |

Emre Can has ruptured his ankle ligaments & is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks, so highly possible that his season is now over

A striker saves a penalty. Mario Balotelli might well have a future with us.
