The way he turned the 2001 FA Cup final against Arsenal in our favour, Gerrard style, is one reason not to hate him, my opinion of him did change when he joined United though.

Dont you want us to win, Looks like Newcastle will have a great chance of staying up. I dont think Sam Alladyce will be too happy if we put out weaken side

Given a side not to disimilar to that took care of Stoke and Bournemouth, I don't see why you're so worried.

Possibly some good news on Emre Can - he might make it back before the end of the season, especially if we do make it to the Europa League final. Danny Ings is due back in full training in two weeks, might not play again this season though. And Klopp isn't ruling out Origi returning before the end of the season, though he doesn't say it's happening, just that it can happen.

That side is more than capable of beating Newcastle. Priority has to be Thursday.

Who gives a damn what Alladyce would think?

Think we'll get the result today. Won't be easy as they're fighting for survival though.

I'm going:

Migs-Flanno-Sakho-skrtel-moreno-lucas-allen-millner-ibe-coutinho-firmino.

No score prediction just a win for us.

I don't think we should be fielding a weakened side when we still have a chance of qualifying for the CL via the PL, if we win today we'll be 6th just 2 points behind United, all of our remaining games are against teams who are below us, so we should be trying to win them all, because if we do I think we'll get 4th place.

Using it as a reason to be critical of his appointement is IMO poor. If he can do the job effectively then that's all that matters. However, I reserve judgement on that point. To be brutally honest I've no idea what the role entails.”

I am one who does want more normal relations between MUFC and LFC but whether it is possible I am not sure given the fact that no player has gone between the 2 clubs since Phil Chisnall in 1964 whilst MUFC constantly deal with EFC and indeed any other club in the league but LFC. Even when Heinze wanted to go to us and we met the asking price no way would SAF sell him to us such is his hatred for LFC - mind you we maybe dodged a bullet there as after leaving MUFC he was not that good!!

For MO at the time I guess to join MUFC given that the choice was effectively Hull or them maybe was not that surprising but other things come into it - what he said when he joined them, how he left LFC first time round and for me the fact that he was not prepared to stay at NUFC and help them win promotion cos the season he had for them when they went down had been a major reason for their relegation. No loyalty at all - but Michael Owen does not do loyalty.

The truth is too that cos of his LFC links he was never truly accepted at MUFC and so he now finds himself to be a figure with no admirers in football. (any MUFC or NUFC DS posters want to come on here and tell us different like how much they like MO? - no thought not!!). As I said there are countless former LFC players who would be more suitable to be the clubs international ambassador - in fact I can only think of Diouf or Lawrenson who would be worse choices than Owen - and I think it is a very bad appointment. The only good side is that it may mean the end of his career as a pundit

Oh Oh! Breaking news that Sakho has been suspended over possible doping problems. This could get messy.

Sakho fails drug test

5live saying it's not a performance enhancing issue but directors have stepped in saying it's best to keep him out but legally he'd neednt have been dropped.

Isn't this the same issue Toure had.

Amazes me that players take stuff without getting it verified by the medical staff first.

Probably looking at 6 months. No Euros with France, no Europa League possible win and the return of Martin Skrtel.

Official statement by the club. No further action at this time, but the club have agreed he won't be available for selection while this is on-going.

So does this mean we could be docked points as he has scored a few goals for us recently , this could get very ugly quite quickly.

No, that requires 2 or more players from the same team to fail a test.

Liverpool Eleven

Mignolet; Randall, Toure, Lovren, Moreno; Stewart, Allen, Milner; Lallana, Firmino; Sturridge

I thought he might've rested Milner and Lallana. Is there any problems with Flanno and Teixera just now? I thought they might be worth some game time.

I'm raging at the bad news. What a stupid thing to do.

Have to put that to the back of the mind for now. Got three points to win first.

Thought Flanno would have started, oh well....

COME ON LIVERPOOL.
