If LFC are basing recruitment decisions or staffing decisions based on fans they may as well give up! Quite frankly half the fans haven't a clue what they are talking about. For instance I remember when They were saying Suarez wasn't a natural finisher!

I'm quite happy to admit I have opinions on football but if I really knew what I was talking about id be earning a few thousand a week actually doing it.

Coutinho scored for Brazil tonight, very nice goal too:

Good to see him called up for Brazil at last but I hope he doesn't tire out too much for the long season ahead with LFC.

If Brazil stay in the competition, the Copa America runs until July 4. After a holiday and a couple of weeks off I guess Coutinho wouldn't be back with Liverpool until August. So he probably wouldn't get a proper pre-season and might even miss the first game or two.

Don't forget the fan's who said get rid of Suarez..

But yeah like others have said, if we signed tevez nobody would complain. Shouldn't be any different for a coach. Can understand if it was Gary Neville or Mike phelan as these are full on utd guys but RM is not.

He is a good coach. I honestly think most fans wouldn't care that he was at utd a few years ago.

Delighted for him - real happy that the Sterling Saga has been keeping the spotlight off him, he's one special player.

Well obviously they cannot listen to all fans - there is no single opinion on key issues concerning our club - as is seen often on these pages and elsewhere and no one fan should have the ar of the owner over any other..

But!!
LFC like all top clubs have many articulate fans with a life time's knowledge of what the club stands for and imo such fans should be in the debate concerning how the club moves forward. A group of 20 or so maybe to meet regularly with Ayre and FSGs rep in the city would be ideal I think.I can recall some such people being given a voice on committees ...etc round the club a few seasons ago which was a great move, but at times I have my doubts that our American owners respect such people enough. I wonder who they actually do listen to - cos the truth is that they never tell us and the running of our club still remains far too secretive for my liking.

You are not really saying that the people with the most knowledge of the game are the ones paid for having an opinion are you? - cos if so that is nonsense. Yes we all know there are idiots with ridiculous views who ring phone ins or write on forums (like me!!) but equally there are others with enormous insights.

What I do know is that if we left all decisions on the future of our club solely to 2 Americans who know next to nothing about football then we do really need to give up

Taken to extremes if those in power ignore fan opinion you end up with a Blackpool or a Newcastle or a Rangers or a Blackburn in the Venky's early days or a Cardiff under Tan where the teams colours changed. Fans are (or should be) the most important part of any club.

He tries that all the time in an LFC shirt. Obviously the GK doesn't watch us much.

Nice finish though. Great to see him bagging for his country.

I think this is cloud cuckoo land. As far as the owners are concerned the only people with a right to talk about "our club" are those who own it. Fans are supporters, thats all. I share your frustration with the current situation but I direct my fire towards those men who get paid huge sums of money, put on a LFC shirt and then do nothing to earn either when they are on the pitch. Owners are owners, and they do what capitalists do. But players are paid to do a job. Too many of our current lot barely turn up.

Looks like you have agreed a deal to sign Danny Ings from Burnley, presumably as back up for Sturridge, or to start when he gets an injury.

Good signing for you guys, far better than Balotelli that is for sure.

Yeah I'm happy with this. Offers good movement, is a decent finisher and better than what we have right now.

I hope Ings proves me wrong, I just feel we are going backwards.

Ings is another decent signing and a good bit of business considering he's out of contract.

I wasn't really expecting us to make any world class signings without CL football but I think Ings and Milne are a good start to the summer business.

Wonder when the fixture list is released. I predict we'll have the irony of Stoke away in the first game

Ings and Milner are very good signings imo. Neither are marquee, which is fine, but will definitely be an improvement on the squad. Scoring 11 goals for a team like Burnley is a very decent achievement, he'll be a lot better with players like Coutinho and Henderson behind him.

But based on one semi-decent season at Premiership level?

Milner was a solid signing, but I'd be underwhelmed with Ings if this was my club. He doesn't seem like the calibre of player you should be bringing in to help get you back into the Champions League. Time will tell on that I guess, although I wonder whether the club signed him because they really think he's good enough for a club with Top 4 ambitions, or more just a case of being available and relatively cheap?

Ings is an improvement over Lambert, borini and balotelli. Like I have said before, it is a squad game and at least two of the above three will leave the club.

This is a good signing. Its early days also so let's not predict that this is it for the summer.

Do people expect to have 4 world class strikers?

Sturride, Ings, Orgi and I would hope one more quality signing will be enough.

It will just be a nice change to have a decent choice of strikers after last season!

He couldn't do much worse than the three you mention, but with Sturridge and Origi in the equation too that leaves you with 6 strikers now. Unless you succeed in managing to offload all three of the strikers you want shot of (sometimes it's easier said than done) then it doesn't appear to leave room to bring anyone else in upfront? With Sturridge being injury prone you may end up being very reliant on Ings / Origi. Do you think they're up to the job of playing regularly for Liverpool at the stage they're at?

We spent £35m on Andy Carroll based on a decent half-season in the PL. We've come a long way.

At least Ings has that burst of pace and quick feet to potentially suit our style. Only thing that worries me is that he's young and will need to play, so I hope BR gives him the game time.

Considering we've not spent any money yet, our first two signings are quite pleasing. We could (and have) do worse having spent money so it's not all bad.

Still a few more needed of course though, glad we're getting in early and allowing the new players time to settle in.

Well it's not just you (two??) this time who agree, he simply has to be better than what we have had this season.

My concern is the last bit of what you've put. No I don't expect 4 worldies but I would hope for another addition to the 3 we will have. my worry being Borini or Balo won't move on and we get no further addition.
