That's Smith's one issue - he's a bit rash. Thought Ward, Ojo and Stewart did OK but the rest of the starters were poor. Even Lucas was sloppy defensively when he came on.

Still mystified by the whole Sturridge thing. Obviously something's gone on behind the scenes as his attitude and body language just aren't right. I guess we'll know in the summer.

Don't understand why sturridge rushing off the pitch is such a big deal. He was disappointed in the performance today. People going OTT over something so little.

Taken in isolation, yes, but add all the little things up and people will start raising eyebrows. I don't think anyone can be sure what the situation is either way but I'm favouring the "something's up" camp personally.

Of course Sturridge isn't happy, he's already stated he wasn't happy about not being selected on Thursday and said he's not somebody "who will commit himself to one club for life".

It looks like we're going to finish with fewer points than last season under Rodgers, while performances may have improved under Klopp, results certainly haven't. There's also the possibility we could finish in our lowest league position for 54 years.

Both seasons we've been blighted by striker issues (either misfits or injuries). Once Klopp solves that puzzle, and recruits defensively, we'll be OK. If we don't win the Europa League, I wouldn't mind laving a Europe-free season next season to give us the best chance of securing a top 4 finish - Klopp's method is immensely physically demanding and until he's shaped the entire squad to his liking, a heavy schedule will be tough to manage - but I'll not complain if we win the Europa League of course!

I don't think there can be any adverse comparisons to last season where we had hardly any decent PL games, This season we have had several really good ones (MCFC home and away, CFC away, EFC at Anfield, AVFC away, Stoke at home, Norwich away and maybe more). Yes I admit that the games at Watford, Newcastle, both West Ham ones and today were bad but the first four were some time ago and tbh today did not really matter that much cos next Thursday has to be the priority. Prior to last week I had still harboured outside hopes of 4th but the facts before we played today was that our max points was just 3 more than MCFC had already so we had to win all our games and MCFC could not get one win so obviously 4th had gone and after that it does not matter if we get 5th, 6th 7th or 8th in many ways. Also we have Origi, Hendo, and Can (all key players) now out for the rest if the season plus Ings who has been out all season. As well as the good PL games I mentioned remember too that we got to the CC final (scored 6 at Ston) and are in the semi of the EL having beaten Dortmund and MUFC. So this season has been far far better than last season - and we now have a top manager who at this point has not had a pre season with us and has brought no new players in who have actually played.

There will be changes in and out in the summer - I look forward to it happening as I am sure what we end up with will look a stronger squad than we have now but for the moment lets do all we can to win the EL and thus get into the CL where with some decent signings and Klopps know how we could be competitive. But if we did not do it we should not look on it as a disaster - we are definitely on the way up.

Exactly. Every player knows he is the same as anyone else in work - a useful tool to make profit & gains for the business. But when no longer required will be sold on to the biggest bidder, or will move on via a better offer themselves.

The ones that become a part of the club like Gerrard and Carragher are very rare these days, too much money involved to stay at one club.

If Sturridge wants to go I will show him the way to the door as he is simply to injury prone and unreliable.

We need a player than can stay fit for a season and not break down every 6 weeks.

If we keep Sturridge (and I'd really like him to), the mistake we cannot make is laving a second striker who's a misfit (as Mario and Benteke ultimately were). We've now got Ings and Origi at least, who are more viable as backup than Borini and Lambert were. So swap Benteke for a striker who fits Klopp's blueprint and scores goals and we should keep Sturridge (if he wants to stay of course).

We need a goal scorer who can get at least 20 goals a season. As our leading goal scorer in the prem this season is Firmino with 9 goals.


Benteke has got a be a must to leave but we won't make our money back on him. Another expensive flop for us.

Funny that when sturridge isn't injured people still want to bang on about injuries.

Of course people do as he is always breaking down. As of Jan 2016 he had missed 614 days of work out of 1,121. And it's always a matter of time when he next breaks down.

I don't actually care about his injuries, when fit and on song he knocks spots off most other strikers in the PL. I would keep him, and play him when we can, Origi is coming along nicely, and Ings coming back helps. Sure, get another striker in, but they don't have to be a multi million £ buy.

Ings is still an unknown when it comes to Liverpool though right?

Not really, up until his injury he was decent form.

He certainly fits Klopps' blueprint.

It's not much, but we saw in his limited appearances that he's the exact sort of player that fits this team.

No I am just explaining we need somebody who is not going to keep getting injured and he is a good striker when in form but unfortunately he spends half the season injured.

So we have Benteke who is a pile of a crap and then we have a injury prone striker who is always breaking down.
