A cup final should always hold at least 55,000 as most teams would easily be able to fill up a stadium of that size l. Especially when you take into account of how many tickets are held back from the fans.

Why are such small stadiums picked for finals?

Too mentally and physically drained last night to post much but came back on to say that's the most complete performance I've seen from a Liverpool side for quite some time. Hardly a pass out of place or a challenge lost and even the defending was assured when the opposition got in. The crowd did their part too and it all added up to an immense, intimidating performance. As Jurgen Klopp says, if we can get that vibe going for home league games, it would be fantastic.

Sevilla are not going to poll over for us obviously but if we can repeat last night's intensity we've got one hell of a chance. Can't wait for the 18th.

Firmino is arguably our player of the season. Didn't get up to much under Rodgers, but under Klopp he's shone. Pulled us through our injury crisis in late winter with some excellent performances, and his stats speak for itself. 10 goals and 9 assists despite having a couple of injuries.

And his turn last night was ridiculous.

I suspect if it were not for his injury, he'd have probably signed a new deal.

He's a combative energetic midfielder, who just gets stuck in.

He won't light up the pitch, but he's solid and reliable.

He would be a star in the SPL

Taken from FB:
Daniel Sturridge has made his feelings clear and he says he is delighted to be working with Klopp:

"I'm happy, I'm happy. I have never expressed not being happy here. I think it is everyone playing Devil's Advocate.

"They see that I have been left out sometimes and they think 'maybe that means he is unhappy' but, at the end of the day, the manager has got a job to do.

"He has got to pick the team that he feels is best on the day. And I have got a job to do, which is to perform when I am playing. Has there been friction between us?

"Not at all! Never! There is never any on my part and there is never any on the manager’s part, either, I don’t think.

"It is his job to pick the team. If he chooses to pick someone else, I have to take it on the chin. You know what? I can say it: I can be upset if I'm not playing.

"But that is natural for any player to be upset. You just have to take it on the chin and be ready for your chance."

To be honest Daniel, last night was the first time I have witnessed you expressing so much delight ....@pb
Google suggests this is in the Star.

Hopefully that'll stop people speculating for a while or thinking he's got an attitude problem. There'll be people that won't accept it though, of course. There normally is.

Good news for those who have Freeview and not BT, the Europa league final is being shown live on the BT Showcase channel.

For any of you who never saw this, THIS is Klopp at his finest. With the fans after the match with Villarreal. Not the best quality video, but the best Klopp! Just love this man.

Studgey still needs to sharpen up. V Villareal he missed the first goal but luckily it went in off a defender, on the second the keeper very nearly saved it and on the third he missed but Lallana was there to scoop it in.

'Studgey'? Sounds a bit like Stodgy, very uncomplimentary for him. Regardless, he had a hand in all 3 goals, and we got them - that's what matters. He's getting sharper and as long as we get any balls into the back of the net through his intervention it's a +. VR are renowned for their solid defence and fast breakaways, as a team we did extremely well, and Sturridge did all he had to for a win.

Good to know, sounds exactly what we need. Frank McParland is our head of recruitment and used to work for Liverpool so he must rate the guy.

He's definitely ready for first team football.

He's just not going to get it at Liverpool.

The lad has scored 12 goals in 23 appearances this season, many of which were off the bench. Let's not pretend he's been poor yeah?

There could be a tendency to reason like that - at times i do myself when i see him have poor shots or not pass when he should or miss chances but when I think it through I realise that I am wrong.

Why? - cos you have to look at the goal return we get from him and it is consistently high and the number of times like on Thursday when he is involved in the goals we score. So even if he does mess up a bit you take that as part of the package that is Daniel Sturridge. If played regularly the facts are that he will always score - and that is what a team wants from its strikers isn't it. If our strikers play really well but they all score less than 10 per season then the team is not going to win the title or even come close cos most of the midfielders do not contribute many goals either. We need a 20 goal striker and if fit DS can be that man so lets hope he can stay fit next season. That is the only question mark against him, not whether he is good enough. Mind you for me Ings and Origi are great too so there may be times when DS does not play for the benefit of the team as we will have to rotate the squad which is a necessity in modern football

You can't have a striker who is worth 25 goals a season if he has the caveat "if he plays". Just as Kompany can't be City's best defender if he is getting 10 injuries a season.

I wouldn't be surprised if both these players are at different clubs next season despite both being clearly excellent footballers.

I look at it totally different. Since klopp has had what he called got pre season work into sturridge and built his fitness week by week his been pretty much fit every week.

His not breaking down no matter how many times people either want him to or think he will.

I hope Klopp fields a strong side today and we get the 3 points. I would like us to qualify for the Europa League via the league, as a back up if we don't win the final. I know a lot of our supporters don't want us to be in that competition next season, despite the memories it has given us this season, but I always feel there's something missing when I see other English teams playing in Europe and we're not. Our poor league form this season hasn't been due to us playing in the Europa League.

Because I don't have BT sport and didn't know if it was being shown FTA.
