Didn't enjoy that - apart from the fact we levelled. A distracted, half-hearted, sleepy mess of a performance. Ojo and Big Ben practising for Sunday. Allen will get a start too. Tie rest will rest up and re-focus for the final probably.

You know winning a trophy has become so desperate I don't know what we are going to do if we lose in a huge final with a CL place, we must make it happen next week.

That wasn't the prettiest of games to watch or end our Anfield season with tonight. A pity our players couldn't smash the Chelsea bus that was parked in their penalty area....again! I wonder if Sevilla were taking note of those tactics?

I'm actually really pleased for Benteke that he got a goal in front of the Kop. He's a decent enough player and he'll score his fair share of goals in a team playing his style, and despite his difficult season he's just got on with it and did his best to be part of the squad; no moaning, no sulking, no gesticulating and blaming others.

My Liverpool MoTM tonight goes to Toure. He was always in the right place to get in the way with the interceptions and blocks. What with Sakho's impending ban, it looks as if Toure could maybe get himself another year.
I also quite liked the the short performance from Ojo again tonight; he seems a player who likes to get himself involved and make things happen. It's very possible he's played himself into the EL final squad at the expense of Ibe.

Anyway, it looks like no injury complications so far And the new strip looks really nice .

Stolen from FB:

Chinese Super League @CSL_Football 2m2 minutes ago
Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has agreed a partnership with Premier League soccer side Liverpool.

And this:

BILD: Wolfsburg's interest in Basel striker Breel Embolo has cooled
SportBILD: Embolo could instead be part of Liverpool's summer spending spree, with Jürgen Klopp set to be given €200m to spend ‪#‎FCBayern‬'s Mario Götze & Roma's on-loan Stuttgart defender Antonio Rüdiger will also be targeted by Liverpool. ‪#‎VfB‬ ‪#‎LFC‬

Sheyi Ojo got the assist for Benteke tonight. That's 4 in 7 appearances. I'm assuming he'll strt on Sunday. He's quite something!

Assuming he's eligible I'd like to see him on the bench next Wednesday, ahead of Ibe. Don't want to put pressure on him or anything but if we were to bring him on, at the moment I'd trust him to be able to do something than Ibe. He's in better form and must have a fair bit of confidence in him.

Third post in a row...

We had Stormtroopers at Anfield tonight. Dancing to Gangnam Style. Be jealous, West Ham!

Bet even Stormtroopers have better shooting accuracy than our players tonight.

End of season performance. Wouldn't worry too much at all.

Nice try but Stormtroopers are famous for their accuracy so as a comparison that doesn't work very well. If you'd said Sandpeople on the other hand...

This is going 'round Facebook...

https://www.facebook.com/TheAnfieldW...973274/?type=3

The Daily Mail posting pictures of some Liverpool fans stealing seats yesterday, while also talking about West Ham fans simply taking souvenirs and pictures and stuff with signs and things ripped up from Upton Park. Great double-standards, but nothing surprises me about that paper.

What a load of rubbish, it was several photos of one bloke hiding a seat under his jacket (moron), that was recovered anyway. The DM is always digging out non stories and getting paanned for them. But hey, so long as they can headline a good click bait it rolls in the cash.

I could probably Google this but I'll let someone else do it instead.

If we win the final next week, do we qualify for the group stages of the Champions League? Or a qualifier?

Lazy iffit!

Where the winners enter
• The UEFA Champions League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League group stage as normal (though both Atlético and Real Madrid have already qualified via the Spanish Liga).

• The UEFA Europa League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League at a minimum level of the play-offs ...

• ... but as both UEFA Champions League finalists will have already qualified, whoever wins the UEFA Europa League will be elevated into the group stage (the UEFA Champions League winners have qualified directly for the UEFA Champions League group stage via their domestic league programme every year since the turn of the century bar 2005, 2007 and 2012).

Maximum of five
• No more than five clubs can enter the UEFA Champions League from one national association (this is an increase on the pre-2015 maximum of four). That means that that either Spain or England are ensured four group places with the team finishing fourth in both leagues entering the play-offs.

Clear as mud now?

Presume we'll most likely be in Pot 3 if we make it in next week?

Mentions Youtube, but not BT Showcase. But if they're doing them for free on Youtube, they'd surely do them on the Showcase as well, right?

Good question. Get Googlin' Orich!

I'm guessing it'll be based on coefficient? Or a number of contributing factors. I'm sure if we win we'll get told soon after and someone will work out where we'll be and why.

Nice stat from EOTK on Benteke:

Having done some quick maths via WhoScored, Benteke’s goals have directly won us 14 points in the Premier League and three points in the Europa League this term.

http://www.empireofthekop.com/2016/0...l-1-1-chelsea/

He's got 10 goals and 3 assists this season. That's 9 and 3 in the Premier League, and 1 goal in the Europa. Unless he stays next season and become amazing then he's not going to be considered a success, however Anthony Martial has 17 goals and 3 assists (+1 assist for Monaco), 11 and 3 in the Premier League. He's supposedly played 47 times for Man United this season, and Benteke has played 49. He's (rightly) being considered a success.

Obviously he's been playing out wide and he's younger and a whole other things needed to add some context, but statistically there's not a massive difference while one's a flop and the other's had a great first season.

Amazing how stats can be used, isn't it?

It will depend on what other teams make it through the qualifying rounds.

Our player awards are on now. I went to the one last year, sadly I didn't go this year...I completely forgot about it.

Emre Can wins young player of the year out of these four:

Pedro Chirivella
Emre Can
Divock Origi
Brad Smith

I don't have LFCTV Go either so I'm using this to keep uptodate:

Philippe Coutinho's goal against Man United in the Europa League second leg gets goal of the season.

She always does.

I can't decide that one. For me I'd be okay with Milner getting it, or Clyne for his consistency, even before Klopp came in.

Will probably be Coutinho though.

Brad Smith wins the Academy Players' Player of the Year. Nominees were:

Cameron Brannagan
Brad Smith
Sergi Canos
Kevin Stewart

Can't argue, could've gone to Sergi Canos for the season he's having at Brentford. Kevin Steward's played well when he's played, too, but yeah I've really liked Brad Smith when he's played.
