He most certainly shouldn't. We have had far too many well below par performances from Hendo this season, possibly carrying an injury is the main reason for that, in which case he shouldn't be playing. He has had no action for a good while and is not a Suarez who just deserves to come straight back in the team.

I agree with this too. The players who started v Villareal, with those performances though, not the Chelsea one's.

Great! He's evidently ambitious with the stuff he's said recently so hopefully will do well.
Can I comment on 2 issues relating to LFC and Hillsborough doing the rounds at present.
1) It has been suggested that some linked to Hillsborough should get knighthoods - Kenny and Phil Scraton in particular. Some have said that if offered them they should turn them down, the thinking being that they should not accept honours from the same establishment that caused us so much pain for 27 years. I can see where such thinking is coming from but I disagree with it. For me one of the things to admire most about the campaign has been the dignified way those involved have behaved over the years in the face of awful treatment from the powers that be. I think that in the spirit of that thinking that any honours offered should be accepted - they are after all from the queen and I do not think anyone is suggesting that she was in any way responsible for the cover up or mistakes in the run up and on the day itself. I think to turn honours down would be to set us up for the critics of the city and the football club to get further ammunition - we do not want that.
2) Eamon Holmes and his crass comments about the WH bus attack comparing it to Hillsborough. At first I could not see why it had upset people so much but then I read an article about it pointing out that to link an incident which happened due to hooliganism (WH bus attack) to Hillsborough an incident for which the fans were in no way responsible showed a lack of understanding. It does but I think we do need to 'go easy' on poor Holmes as he has apologised and leave our greater fury for the real villains of the piece. Yes I am talking about you Duckenfield, and you Murray who were supposed to be in control that day, then also the people who went through and changed the police statements, those who were behind the setting of the 3.15 cut off, Bernard Ingham who said what he did and refuses to in any way acknowledge he was wrong, Kelvin McKenzie obviously and those who now run The Sun who have given him a column in the newspaper today, whoever gave the orders to take samples for alcohol from all the victims - there are others I am sure - but these imo are the people who deserve to be in the firing line of our criticism not Eamon Holmes who frankly is simply guilty of talking about things which he has little grasp of without thinking it through.

You know what, for the minutes he's played this season, 10 goals isn't a bad return. He's had a couple of knocks, and spent a lot of time on the bench. It's easy to focus on the mediocre performances and missed sitters, but a goal every 164 minutes really isn't the worst goalscoring record.
Of course, if we're forced to sell one striker to make room for another, Benteke has to be the one we sacrifice. I wouldn't be particularly happy selling any of the other 3.

Yep. Don't disagree with any of that. I want Benteke to stayand succeed. He's had a good consistent record at the top level. Even with us he's had a decent record. I posted stats recently which show that his season isn't too dissimilar to Anthony Martial. I don't want him to go. I want him to stay and succeed. If we had to sell him for someone Klopp wants then I'll accept his judgement but I want him to succeed with us. We know what he's like when he's on the other team. If we sell him he will probably go to West Ham and punish us. Again. He'll succeed in the Premier League again if we sold him so I'd rather we try to make things work.

On the knighthood thing I really don't buy into it all. The work done by many over Hillsborough was admirable and in some circumstances beyond the call of duty. Truly amazing stuff and people won't forget it.
However does one need to recieve some title from an outdated institution as reward. I don't think so.

I don't think they 'need' to get them but I do think they deserve them if anybody does - especially when you consider that people like Tom Jones, Elton John and Bruce Forsyth have received them as well as politicians who to me seem to have been rewarded mainly cos they were mates with those who put the names forward. the 'not what you know but who you know' syndrome.
However i am probably with you on the general point - I think Shanks made a good point on these matters when he said the only recognition he wanted was from his people - the LFC fans and in many ways I am sure Phil and Kenny would feel the same.

Its personal choice though? Maybe people have been offered them and turned them down. It happens often. I would imagine many people would be uncomfortable with receiving a personal accolade on the back of the tragedy. I'm not sure I would want the reminder every time someone used my title. Of course Dalglish could legitimately be offered it for a number of different achievements and charity work.
