Usually midnight after the match.

Not to bad I suppose. I can get the score and decide if I want to watch it or not on the basis of a win or loss.

Cheers

He's 6ft 3 inches isn't he......not exactly Brad Guzan, Shay Given size....seems tall enough for a keeper to me.

I read a bit over 6ft 1". OK but not the monster I was hoping for. But I'm fussy!

But he had the mighty Hyypia to help him out. That's the type of defender we could do with...

Size isn't everything, Sloth.

True...

Throwing a carrot through the doors of St Paul's Cathedral springs to mind!

Excitement building - we've got 25,000 fans over there apparently. Small stadium but the atmosphere will be electric. Totally understand why Henderson probably won't start given the form of Milner and Can - a good spare battery to have in the drawer though.

Got some tickets for the screening at the Echo Arena tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

I'm jealous - for those interested in the Anfield screening too...

Well I'll be watching it in a pub near Anfield. Not sure which one, might be the Arkles, but I don't know, it's not my idea.

Adam Lallana, taken from The KOP END on FB:

Quote:
“Adam Lallana was giving an interview to the Liverpool Echo when in true Klopp fashion, the German appeared at the door to interrupt.

“What are you doing here?” Klopp asked.

“Speaking about you!” Lallana said.

“Ask him if he knows when Spurs start pre-season training?” Klopp joked in a reference to recent speculation linking the England international with a summer move to White Hart Lane.

“Too late, we have already spoken about that,” Lallana responded.

“I asked him and he said July 1,” Klopp said before descending into laughter.

“I thought you were being serious,” Lallana insisted.

“Are you crazy!” Klopp added before heading back out the door.

It’s a nice insight into what seems to be a great relationship between Lallana and his manager, who of course are neighbours in Formby.

“It is nice actually. He has just got a nice family, nice kids and I see him walking the dogs,” Lallana said.

“My little boy (Arthur) when I take him up for a bath, we have the landing and one time he (Klopp) was taking out the bins so I put my lad on the balcony and he was shouting: ‘Klopp’ and giving it the fist pump celebration. He just looked at him and gave him a wave. It is funny. Brendan Rodgers was my neighbour before. Formby is renowned for players living there. It is a lovely area and very quiet.”

Lallana then confirmed there was no chance of him going anywhere. At times the midfielder has failed to live up to his 25 million pound price tag but this season - especially since Klopp’s arrival - he’s looked the real deal. The Englishman is a key component to Klopp’s pressing game and fast paced football and has one of the most tireless work ethics in the squad.
“I’ve got three years left on my contract here,” Lallana said.

“It was only last season that people might have read that I was leaving and thought ‘Yes, let’s get him out’. But football changes very quickly and I’m really enjoying my football under this manager. I’ve always had a good relationship with Pochettino. We are very good friends off the pitch now. But it would be very difficult (to leave). I am at a massive club here and playing some of my best football for the club, getting to cup finals.””

My son (not a LFC fan sadly) is fairly knowledgeable about football (apart from not supporting LFC - lol ) and he watches the Bundesleague highlights every week. I have asked him if Karius is an improvement on Mignolet and he said 100% yes - that will do for me. Why are people having a go at him already? - I mean it is fairly obvious that there are issues with the goalkeeping position at the club and Klopp will know the German market well and in my sons opinion if the rumours are true and we do get him he has chosen the best available option - if you discard Neuer.

Don't really watch German football often anymore but I'm informed Karius was one of the top goalkeepers there last season, so when you consider he's only 22 it looks like a nice bit of business. Germany always seem to have a large selection of solid goalkeepers.

Starting to get nervous about the game now... 1 game away from Klopp's first trophy and a CL group place. I just hope we put in a better showing than we did at Wembley, where a few players were anonymous and City fully deserved the win.

I've only ever read good things Karius.

Here's a little comparison of Mignolet, Karius, Timo Horn and Ter Stegen:

Ter Stegen's stats will be skewered by the low number of games.

Strangely, Mignolet's distribution stats are a little better, even though Karius seems to be known for his distribution. Stats never do tell the whole story.

Should cover anyone without BT Sport tonight!

I am not sure if I should even admit to this - as i may be labelled some kind of part time fan which i most certainly am not but.....

I will not be able to watch much of the game tonight which I am totally gutted about. I am on a committee and last weekend the committee members said we need to meet again soon and ideally in the next 2 weeks. Next week is out as a key member of the committee (the acting secretary) is away on holiday and this week the date most could make was Wednesday. In fact they all could make it except for me and my excuse was I wanted to watch a football match - deemed not a good enough reason by others . As non football fans they really do not get it - I mean this is the most important match my club has played for maybe 10 years. The meeting is scheduled for 7.30-9 and is very near to my home so I should be home for 9.05 - which i will be - so I hope I see the best action in the game. Part of me wonders about recording it and watching it from when I get in - but as others in my house will have watched it from the start I doubt I could get away with that without finding out the score.

A horrible situation for me - during the meeting for 100% sure my mind will be elsewhere - but I just hope as consolation that LFC end the evening with the EL trophy and really at the end of the day it does not matter that much whether I watch it or not.

That is a massive pain in the a£se, Alan cracker. Im annoyed for you... There's no way in my old days of having a club to support, that I would have missed this one!

That sounds like a right ballache Alan Cracker, I am sorry to hear that. But I would never label you as a part time fan, you have provided many detailed insightful posts in the past which proves that you are none other than a dedicated fan. Really hope that your meeting is bought to a close earlier, so that you are able to enjoy more of the match as it happens.

I have faith that we will prevail tonight, but yes I am as nervous as hell and have the swear box at hand, in case needed.

…get to your meeting early and hide a ‘suspect package’ in the toilet;…if you play your cards right you’ll be back home before kick-off.
