Just wondering if Rodgers is going to be looking back here for buys this summer. If he has the money do you think Joe might be top of his list (one I would hate to see outed frankly)?

No doubt. One of the best players in the game over the last 20 years.
We need a deep playing midfielder technically who can keep the ball under pressure. Alonso was never replaced Arsenal are on the verge of signing Xhaka and I've mentioned before how much I would've loved him at Liverpool. Apparently JK thought the £30m price tag was to much for that type of player. He may be right, but I hope he finds a very good and capable alternative. |

Loris Karius is apparently at Melwood for a medical. If all is true and he does become a our new GK, then I wonder if he will be number 2 or will Migs get benched ?.

On a lighter note - today i was at Anfield and did a 5K run round Stanley Park and surrounding area going past both Anfield and Goodison in memory of the 96 with sponsor money being raised for the LFC and EFC charities. It was a great atmosphere and celebration of our club and our city - and talking of ex LFC bosses guess who was there? Rafa!! - and I had my photo taken with him which being the big kid I am gave me a big thrill - even tho I am 60 years of age. The loud cheering when he was introduced from the stage showed the love for him from the people of Merseyside -
I saw the new stand too while i was there - its coming along nicely!! Yes there was a lot of love for Rafa on twitter when someone posted a video of him saying he had family/friends running and he would have done so if he would have known earlier he could attend (as Jeffner said). The support he has shown for the Hillsboro families has been wonderful. You now have a pic with him you can cherish for all time. Did you get to speak to him or just a quick pic? |

Joe Allen could be that type of player. He seems very assured under pressure. He has the added bonus of being very industrious.

Hence why he should of been brought on earlier. Allen can take the ball under pressure and turn away without the need of taking multiple touches. Technically very very good.
We need to sign some players who can be leaders on the pitch though. Hendo and Milner don't really seem the sort to be able to sort out this heads dropping issue.. |

Why would he want to go to play there? Klopp loves him. He could be a key player for a top pre.mier league club next season
he will have plenty of offers from EPL clubs and yeah he would have to take a wage cut to go to celtic so not sure if that would happen. |

Allen would have to take a huge wage cut to go to Celtic. Cant see that happening.

Yes, indeed, I think this is the type of player that is becoming more important in a lot of modern football.
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Xhaka and I've mentioned before how much I would've loved him at Liverpool. Apparently JK thought the £30m price tag was to much for that type of player. He may be right, but I hope he finds a very good and capable alternative. Quote:
Sounds amazing Alan. Meeting Rafa would be a dream come true for me. So would be running the race without stopping ha!

If we really want to progress from being a midtable team, Mignolet cannot be our number one keeper. I'd like to see him go, but he wouldn't be a bad number 2 I guess.

Liverpool will hope to secure a fee of more than £4m when Jerome Sinclair’s case goes to tribunal. (Echo)
That's pretty much the Karius fee paid for. |

Looks like Mario Gotze wants to stay with Bayern Munich, as he thinks will play a lot more under Carlo Ancelotti

Why would he want to leave Bayern? He will at least wait to see if Carlo wants to use him. If so then he will stay. |

I am not surprised at all. Didn't believe them reports how he was looking to sign for Liverpool.

It did look like it was going to happen, it looked like a fight between us and Dortmund, and it looks like he's chosen to fight for his place at Bayern Munich. That's assuming he gets a contract, and Ancelotti has promised him game time. He's coming into his final year so if he doesn't sign a contract now we could look into getting him in January if his situation hasn't improved, and we still have a vacancy. |

Remember contracts are definitive proof that someone will stay here or not join us. Mignolet is our Number 1 for years to come!

I'm not surprised you're not surprised since you tend to dismiss pretty much any transfer link. In fact I was even expecting you to respond with something like this.

You have a source for that? Gotze could still leave but I don't remember seeing any quotes from him, Liverpool or anyone which suggested he was close to leaving. I have no doubt Liverpool have been trying to sway him for months but to say it was close is stretching it slightly. http://www.sueddeutsche.de/sport/fc-...iben-1.3004379 Quote:
So here is what the article (in German) from Freddie Röckenhaus in Süddeutsche Zeitung re: Götze. Basically sounds like Götze's former agent, who he sacked, had been trying to get him to go back to Dortmund, as it constituted the least possible risk for the player. Götze's dad still works as a professor at Technischen Universität Dortmund and Götze's family still reside in the city. His Dad said in an interview with Süddeutsche Zeitung that he knows nothing of an impending move to Liverpool. It sounds like at the moment, his Dad has a bit of influence in his affairs. Also sounds like we are the only team that has made a public offer for him.

It looked like it was going to happen according to who?

Not on hand, and I can't be bothered going looking for one when I'm talking to you two since you like to dismiss everything anyway unless there are direct quotes. Just things I read, and I'm not talking about stupid transfer gossip pages, ITKs, Metro, Express type stuff. Just bits and pieces over recent months that made it look promising. It looked like it was going to be a choice between Liverpool and Dortmund, with him wanting to go to Dortmund but Dortmund fans not wanting him.
He's going into his last year on his contract. If he doesn't feel he'll get game time he might want to leave. Like i said before, he is gonna least wait till he has a conversation with the new manager and see if he is wanted at Bayern. |

Dude I'm not denying the player could leave. Usually there is no smoke without fire. I'm not denying Liverpool want him and haven't spoken to his agent to sound him out about a possible move.
