Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze not joining Liverpool - father

Bayern Munich forward Mario Gotze will not be joining Liverpool, the Germany international's father and new manager has told Suddeutsche Zeitung.

The 23-year-old, meanwhile, said he wants a new beginning at Bayern.

On Monday, Gotze ended his partnership with the Sports Total agency -- which also represents players including Toni Kroos, Marco Reus and Benedikt Howedes -- and, using the hashtag #partofbayern, announced on Facebook that he will be managed by his family in the future.

According to kicker and Suddeutsche, Gotze will also be represented by Munich-based Prof. Dr. Peter Duvinage during contract talks.

At the same time, the Germany international vowed to return to Bayern following Euro 2106, and appeared to have ended speculation he could leave the club in the summer.

Gotze is under contract at Bayern Munich until 2017, and has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool or a return to Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking to Suddeutsche Zeitung, Jurgen Gotze, his father and new manager, said that reuniting with his old Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp at Anfield Road is not an option right now.

"I don't know anything about an alleged imminent transfer to Liverpool," he said. "Mario is my son, we talk to each other. I would know about it."

Gotze confirmed last week that he held talks with incoming Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti, and speaking to Bild he dismissed reports the former Real Madrid boss had advised him to seek a new beginning.

"Despite contrary reports, I had a very good phone call with Ancelotti," Gotze told the paper. "And I am looking forward to working with him."

The German tabloid claimed that Gotze personally informed Klopp about his decision to not join Liverpool, and also told Dortmund he would not be joining them this summer.

Speaking to Bild, Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the club had nothing to do with the switch of agents. "That's exclusively the player's business, and we treat like that," he said.

This is a big blow if true, Gotze is a player of real genuine quality. But as klopp said, if players dont want to come we will find others who do. We need a replacement for migz and moreno and probably lallana. I hope klopp realises we play better without hendo and finds a solid cm.

We are about to sign a goalkeeper today, Loris Karius has just passed his medical. I'm not sure if he will be a replacement for Migz or just competition but he had been receiving rave reviews in Germany.

Mainz are in the Europa League next year. Karius isn't coming here to warm the bench, no chance.

Sergi Canos is looking to leave. Sadly another youngster getting greedy before they've even done anything. I'd rather they at least waited until they do something for the first team so we get some real money for them like Sterling did. When you get kids like Canos and Sinclair acting like this it's no wonder Chelsea resort to just farming them.

Now that one has huge potential, and is one I always look out for. It's getting insane that even the kids want it all, and NOW already. If only they realised that they are shooting themselves in the foot just so they can play at Rich Footballer' and grab the girl and the car now. Sad, but Liverpool won't shed tears on any of them, we have an overload of good kids, and plenty will be shipped out anyway this summer.

PS: I see Rafa is trying to get Aggar back with him at Newcastle!

Yeah it's a shame the way younger players get greedy so early. A few thousand a week should be good enough for now, earn the rest later and it'll feel like you've actually earned it. A good season in the Championship and he starts making demands. Klopp won't put up with crap like that. And if they're willing to throw their Liverpool careers away, and lose out on the chance to play under Klopp then they can do one.

DAgger could be a great signing for them, would be a nice boost to getting them back in the Premier League. They'll need players who love playing and will put the effort in and he'll guarantee you that. Someone like Sergi Canos could learn a thing or two from him.

Glad to see we've got Karius. I've heard good things about him. I don't know when he'll be pushed as the number one but I hope it's soon. If we had the Europa or Champions League this season we could've had a goalkeeper for that and one for the Premier League, then use one of them or a third choice for the FA Cup and League Cup. Nice to see we've got 3 transfers done already and the transfer window isn't even open yet.

I haven't read any of the stories on Canis yet you don't know what he's asking for, but it's really disappointing when one of our younger guys wanted to leave over money.

We've had varying experiences with this kind of thing. We paid Sterling and it worked out OK for a while. We refused to pay Dele Alli £12k a week and lost out on him, which now makes us look just a little bit daft . It's all swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

The saddest thing, as others have mentioned, if he does leave we probably won't receive the fee he's actually worth.

Our new goalkeeper has claimed the #1 jersey; make of that what you will.
Welcome Herr Karius, may you be happy and successful.

Canos recently said...

After every game of Liverpool, Klopp gives a hug to every single player - I want to be one of them, it's my dream
I guess after his runout for tie first team his (or likely his agent's) demands may be unrealistic. It may alternatively be that his styles just doesn't suit Klopp's all-energy approach. Who knows.

I think that Canos and Sinclair are totally different to Sterling in that if we are honest how likely is it that if they stayed at LFC that either Canos or Sinclair would play for the first team next season? Not very is the right answer and if they have reflected on that and thought I want to play and so will go somewhere where I will then I have no issue. If on the other hand they have said that they deserve £x salary and it has been refused and they have chosen to leave cos of that then I do have an issue. Does anyone know which of the 2 is the bigger factor - wages or playing time?

Sterling of course was always likely to be in the team (or atleast in the squad) and was offered very high wages and still chose to leave - far more unacceptable to me,. I wonder if now he sees Klopps LFC and thinks what might have been - prob not yet as at present he is in the CL next season and we are not in Europe and have just finished 8th but in a few years time I predict it is likely he will look back and see the decision he made last summer as a big mistake.

Might have to take a look at tickets for the game at Wembley. Would be fun to see Suarez line up against us in a friendly (assuming he's fit - any news onm his injury from the cup final?)

Looks like we got a solid keeper there, I guess he will take first team selection right away.

Well I hope so

Given that he's been linked with Rangers, it can't all be about money surely?

Klopp has a history of unearthing untapped talent doesn't he ?

I'm not sure he gives for the established stars .

You did OK with Cann , Firmino and Coutinho

Karius said he wouldn't have moved to Liverpool if he thought he was going to sit on the bench. So either he's going to be disappointed or he'll be replacing Mignolet sooner rather than later.

IM thinking about cream of the cream players, I dont think Adam fits into that category, in 2 years he has done simply ok-ish and Liverpool need better than that, I think he is a good player but not cream of the cream. We want to be challenging for trophies and players like Lallana might win you an FA CUP or a Capital one cup, but certainly not the league or the champions league. IMHO.

Maybe but a team called Leicester seem to disprove that theory.

That doesn't matter really. Brad Jones had the number one Jersey.

Don't know much about him but obviously Klopp knows him very well so I'll trust his judgement

I disagree. Lallana has shown his quality recently, and actually he's integral to the way Klopp likes to play.

He's severely underrated.
