I hope gomez isn't having to bail out Lovren.
So do I!

Sakho is not in the lineup as he missed training due to the birth of his baby.

Just found a stream for the game and they showed the goals from our last visit to the Brittania

Hasn't dampened my new season optimism though.

Very early days but 3points will be very welcome with Chelsea,Arsenal and Spurs dropping points.

Stoke looking the more likely to score at the moment. We are struggling to maintain possession.

If we can get into half-time at 0-0 I'd be happy at the moment.

Hopefully the start of our season is only delayed by that 45mins.
There seems a lot of tension out there, they need to string some decent passes together and create a chance or two to get themselves going.

Boring and scrappy, but games at the Britannia usually are. Still every chance we can get out with the 3 points. Firmino on for Lallana at some point please.

The scrappiness is more down to us than Stoke.

As Taurus_67 said, we need to start stringing some passes together to try and settle the nerves.

Seem to be so focused on competing physically with Stoke that we've forgotten to play our football. And we're going longer because of Benteke which is bypassing Coutinho's creativity. Ibe shouldn't be making more use of Clyne's runs too.

Looking more balanced at the back, though.

Yes, was mulling that sub too - but it could as easily be Coutinho also as when he has had the ball he's been a bit lacklustre.

Cheap yellow card gained by Lovren. Both our center halves now have a booking.
