He should come here. He's one player we should get. But I have doubts. James Pearce from the Echo said it's not happening recently. Doesn't fit our profile, apparently.

That smacks of the dreaded stats-led transfer committee - probably too old at 26 to be "an investment" whereas what we really want is just a top-level left back who can actually defend!

I also don't think Henderson should leave either, in spite of the opinions of others. He, like Joe, is a game changer with an excellent knack for controlling matches and making stunning passes. Hendo is coming back from a long injury spell, and is still a little bit rusty - but it's all there, and the more he plays the better he's getting.

This is when I really wish we were in Europe next season, and could justify keeping/rotating players, but sadly we aren't and we need to gather together an ace squad for the PL. We all just have to trust that Klopp makes the right choices, I don't envy him one bit though!”

Really? Game changers? I don't know what I've been watching then , I can count on one finger the amount of times I'd say JH or to be fair to him JA changed a game with a stunning pass or indeed totally controlled a game, sorry if it seems negative, but it's my view.

I'd have no problem keeping Joe Allen as a squad player but for me he and esp Hendo are not "real" game changers, the proof is certainly not in the pudding to back that up.

It's OK, you're with a mass of others who just don't see Henderson for what he really is, and I find that a bit sad frankly.

I found this article today which explains why Hendo is seen as 'Uncool, and is forever getting unjustified bad press. Really, just read it, it says all I have been thinking for quite a long time.

His pass to Vardy was superb and the article is correct in sayng if that was Rooney or a Carrick or someone, it would be played in highlight reels and raved about. I admit, he had a good first half on Monday.

He is still average though, having watched him for Sunderland and liverpool

You won't get a more believable transfer rumour than this!

Liverpool have become the latest club to join the race for €8.5m Luis Nani according to Fanatik.

Why are we going after Nani. Cant we get someone better

He failed at another Premier League team. I dont want to mention

I'm slightly frustrated that Wanyama has gone off to Spurs for an absolute steal of a price at £11 million.

Feel we should have been in for him.

For large periods last season I thought he was distinctly average to be honest - I always favour players who give 7/10 performances every week rather than fluctuating between distinctly average and very good.

We'd be better looking at Idrissa Gueye from Villa. More consistent and cheaper than Wanyama.

I don't slate him or anything, I think I do see him for what he really is, which is a decent hard worker but not the "game changer" to which you were referring.

In the article you posted it says "He has strong physical presence; he is an endless runner; he reads the game intelligently; his movement off the ball is clever" - I won't disagree with that but none of those attributes make him this game changer.

The same article also goes on to say " There are times when he lacks guile on the ball and looks something akin to a headless chicken, and I have real doubts over whether he should be Liverpool’s captain.
He may well have to settle for squad role next season, because it is likely that a superior midfielder or two will come in."
So the article isn't exactly gushing of him or his performances.

I was not making out he is the worst footballer at the club or anything just saying no way do I think he is a game changer for us. I cannot think of an amount of games he changed in our favour since he signed.

I find some of the players and perhaps more importantly the prices of those players that we are being linked with quite depressing.

I mean 30m Mane- madness, 12m Robertson from Hull, over 10M Chigwell ....... yet Joe Allen has an 8M offer for him .....

30m for Mane is over priced but as he is a good pacey player who i think would fit into our system so I would not be too against paying it. Bit of a diver and has a bit of an attitude but if he comes in, starts to love LFC and does the business on the pitch i do not care.

The LBs linked worry me - we need an established player who is defensively sound who can go straight into the team - Hector for instance - and yes if his price is high then try to get them down but in the end get him whatever it takes. Hull players who are average at best or 18 year olds are not the type we need to go after.

8m for Allen is a joke. I see Miki (Armenian who I can't spell!!) from Dortmund is also 27 and has a year to go on his contract and 25-30m is being quoted. Looking at that to me Allen should be 20m minimum but really the bottom line is he should not be sold.

Anyway its all rumour at present - lets see what happens in reality.

Looks like we'll be getting Nathan Redmond soon. He's about to be signed by Southampton.

Surely you will be outbid by Den Perry the new Everton manager.
Haven't they just been taken over by Bill Gates or something?

Pjaca who came on late for Croatia tonight looks a lively customer - wouldn't mind taking a gamble on him.

Has anyone see that on the news, LA Galaxy spelling Gerrard's name as Gerrad on his shirt wow.

I reckon that using French winger / forward maybe worth a shot . He reminds me of Sterling but has a good final ball in him .

Looks like Mane is nearly done for £30m with a medical due tomorrow. No denying what he can do on his day (I suspect that performance against us in that Southampton comeback got us really interested) - let's hope he has more of those days as he gets older - Klopp is the right man to do that hopefully.

It's likely to be over £30m, maybe as much as £34m. That's a lot; that's silly money really, I hope we're getting loyalty points with this one. Maybe some of the price will be offset with Ibe going the other way, we'll have to wait and see.

He's a decent player, no doubts, and he had a good season last year. If the signign goes through where does he play and/or who's place does he take? He played most of his games last season the central attacking midfield role; so if we play 4231, he takes Henderson's place; if we play 433, does he take Lallana's place?

Anyway, if we do sign him and pay that much for him, I suppose that ends interest in Gotze for now.

I'm assuming he'll right of the three behind the striker of as the right-sided player in a friont three - the Ibe/Lallana slot normally.

As for Gotze - totally unimpressed with him ar the Euros but he was never a viable false Number 9 to be fair. However, won't be devastated if we miss out.

Gotze transfer died weeks ago. Mane was the alternative target.

We are paying too much for sure!

Our transfer dealings are utterly depressing and I can Only despair of us bringing in more mediocre crap and not only that we pay way over the odds just to add insult to injury.

Our 3 most expensive signings are Carroll, Benteke and Mane. Jesus!
