If there is a chance to sign a really good player, we should get him
Most times the above is true - altho I do think there should be an element of thinking where they fit in with any signing rather than signing first and thinking afterwards as you seem to be advocating but in the case of Texeira

a) hes not that good
b) the players we have got in his role are pretty good
and
c) his attitude does not seem to be what we want

so its a big no thanks from me - and i suspect from Jurgen too

A bit odd, considering that he's only just got here. But good news, nevertheless.

Bigger contract would also mean another club paying us huge compensation for him to leave.

Or cost us a lot more if we ever decided to sack him... just saying.

Looks like Ibe is going to Bournmouth. Ł15 mil is good money for us.

Liverpool have accepted a Ł15million bid from Bournemouth for winger Jordon Ibe .

The ECHO understands that the 20-year-old has been given permission to hold talks with the South Coast outfit.

Ibe's future at Anfield has looked increasingly uncertain after a disappointing 2015/16 campaign.

Tipped to fill the void created by Raheem Sterling's move to Manchester City, Ibe struggled for form and was unable to hold down a regular starting spot following Jurgen Klopp's appointment.

The youngster must now decide whether to head for Bournemouth in search of regular first-team football.

Ibe has made 58 appearances for Liverpool since signing from Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of 2011.

The England Under-21s international was handed his debut by Brendan Rodgers on the final day of the 2012/2013 season

Sky have announced their opening live fixtures for the new season.
Unsurprisingly our opening away game at Arsenal is one of those chosen, with 2 other games in London also being picked. The game at Chelsea in September will be on Friday evening.

August
14: Arsenal v Liverpool (4pm)

27: Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool (12.30pm)

September
Fri 16: Chelsea v Liverpool (8pm)

Looking from the outside I'm really surprised you're letting him go. He's a dangerous young player who I thought was developing nicely. I certainly didn't think of it as a "poor" season.

Still.. I'm sure JK knows what he's doing.

He wasn't very good last season. Didn't kick on.

Would rather have kept Ibe but Ł15m isn't a bad return.

Hoping the club have put in a buy back Clause or at least 1st refusal.

Ibe is young and still developing so there is a chance he can become a top player.

He'd be a worthwhile replacement for Townsend if you'd be willing to take a chance on a young, unproven player for that sort of fee. In fact, I'd have been quite happy if we'd been interested in Townsend coming the other way as he always looks like a player who can make things happen. He should have went to France with England.

Sissoko looks like a man playing for a move, and if there's any truth in the rumours we're looking at him, maybe you'd like to take Henderson the other way .

I know you're joking, but I don't think Henderson would go to Newcastle. He's a Sunderland fan.

I know, I was just trying to give our magpie friend a mild heart attack .

Although if we are looking at Sissoko, then it's Hendo's position he'd take.

Not to fussed about Ibe being sold, he was just another pacey winger with no end product.

Yep, and quoting Klopp:

“There is much to do and much to achieve and we look to do this by being the most completely together group anywhere in the world. That’s everyone and we all have responsibility for it – all of us who are part of this LFC family: players, staff, ownership and of course the supporters.

“By being together at all times, we will be stronger, better and our successes sweeter.”

Just perfect!

He must love it here

The contract is probably quite meaningless in itself but its an illustration of how well he has settled in. He strikes me as the type of guy who wont be shifted as long as he is happy regardless of what his contract says.

Blimey the idea of Henderson coming here to the championship.. he's quality so yes I'd take that.

But he's a mackem so I doubt it.

Besides we've already signed our Townsend replacement through Matt Ritchie. A signing for the championship but for the future too.

The feeling with Sissoko is we want to hold on to him, don't have to sell him but if anyone wants him, he'll cost.

Confirmed ‪#‎LFC‬ starting XI to face @tranmererovers: Karius, Flanagan, Lovren, Matip, Smith, Brannagan, Lucas, Kent, Ejaria, Mane, Firmino.

Markovic and Ings are on the bench, among others, including a certain Kane.

Happy to see Ejaria starting.

KO is at 7 on LFCTV, so you might have to watch it via other means.

Unfortunately I'll have to miss this one since I'll have to be up at like 2 in the morning for a long day ahead.

Hoping a certain Mr Murray gets a move on, and then I can watch that. Actually, I am sure I can keep track of the tennis on the net, football is priority after all!
