Grujic scores the fourth and last goal to make it 4-0 right at the end.
That's a filthy goal to score against a team like Barcelona, friendly or not. A headed-goal from the edge of the penalty box. |

Who the hell are Barcelona?!
![]() Backs to the wall at times as you'd expect but Klavan and Lovren were rock solid and Mignolet did his bit. We pressed and counter attacked so fast and it lead to pretty much all of our goals. Mane played really well too which I'm especially glad about because he's been poor before today in pre-season. |

Very, very impressed, can't even name one single player being crap - non were. Loved the Suarez song when he went off, brilliant performance, and the final goal was the ultimate 'WOW!'

I think Grujic is the player I'm most excited about this season, just to see what he's capable of. He might take the Premier League by surprise, he's an unknown quantity, too, which can make for a good first season.

Obviously not going to get too carried away with the result as it is only pre-season but WOW!
Everyone played brilliantly, The way we play really stopped Barca playing the way they want too on numerous occasions. I don't believe all the 'Barca weren't at their best' talk... more because we didn't allow them to play I think. Stewart is impressing me more and more every time I see him, so composed. Hope he gets a few chances this season. Also, Grujic is having a great pre-season! Think that's three goals now isn't it! |

Klopp refused to answer questions from a reporter from The Sun after the game. Not sure what the guy was hoping to achieve. Maybe he was there trying to talk to Barcelona, but why even try your luck with Liverpool? Did he think, due to being at Wembley, he could sneak in and catch Klopp off-guard? They'd have loved that if it worked, Liverpool manager found speaking to The Sun.
If you want to chat with Klopp then get a better employer.

Today created nothing but problems for me. I'm going to have to scrap the whole midfield in my fantasy team to find a slot for Mane; looks like Milner will be dropped out.
A really good show in front of an impressive crowd ( hope you really enjoyed your day out Alan) Great game from Mane; deserved motm. Lot of work and effort from Lallana and Firmino. Lovren was solid and calm; hope he stays fit. Klavan I think will do OK in the PL when he's needed; he looks like a bit of traditional CB ( think Carra or Hypia ) but he might lack a bit of pace and I wouldn't want him covering LB Origi and Grujic: please stay fit boys, you could be our surprise packages this season. I still can't come to terms with signing Wijnaldum; good player or not. We already have Milner, Lallana, Grujic and even Moreno who can or could play that position. The only area of concern today was at LB ( neither Milner or Moreno have the positional awareness to defend properly ) , The Wijnaldum money would have been better spent solving that situation. Instead, we're letting full-backs leave right and left... and who are we supposed to be bidding for? Joao Mario, a central midfielder! Anyway, what a great way to set up the new session. If we can keep that energy level and tempo going, we'll be competitive. |

I think that there is absolutely no doubt now that we are going to win the Premier League at an absolute canter.

Well given the history, the boycott, the recent campaign to remove the rag from every store in Liverpool then it's not much of a surprise.

Perfect result a huge boost for us and we look a totally different side to the mess BR created. Psychologically beating a team witg suarez in it will do us a world of good. Ever since he left theres been a huge gaping hole in our team that never got filled, this shows we have moved on and we can well and truly do better without him. The defence looked solid and make no mistake, with a bit of consistency we are genuine title contenders.

If you had been discussing Hodgson then fair do's. |

Brendan Rogers got you to within a whisker of winning the league, Klopp hasn't. Ok he's moved on and so have Liverpool but to dismiss him in that way is a bit poor imo.
If you had been discussing Hodgson then fair do's. Klopp has already got us to 2 finals, and he hasn't had a full season with his choice of team yet. I wouldn't dismiss Rodgers so out of hand, but he's as like Klopp as LVG is to Morinho as far as we are concerned. See what I mean? |

Not saying that Rogers was good enough for Liverpool because I don't think he was but at the moment you're still in the same position with your current manager as you were with the last. Regardless of what you think of him now that season could have gone either way there was so little in it. |

I think that was more to do with Suarez finding form than anything else to be honest.
But amazing result yesterday. Did I hear we are playing again today? It was painful to watch as a United fan especially with the joker we had in charge at the time. |

. When you are at a game it is maybe harder to analyse than when you are watching on TV as there are no half time replays, analysis or Sky+ rewinds. I felt different to a game at Anfield and as if there were a lot of 'tourist fans' there - people in kits which weren't this season, lots of half an half scarves, people asking some pretty unaware questions (who was Ian Rush?, which one is Klopp?, what is offside?), very few singing YNWA (thats something I have to do when I go to a LFC match!!), lots of leaving early or going to buy a cola 10 minutes before the half time whistle ...etc, but a good experience for sure. I too don't have this seasons kit and would feel a bit out of place in another kit if I went to Anfield - but if I had been in another kit yesterday for sure that would not have mattered. But like everyone is saying it was a good display by everyone - no weak links and some really good displays. I think we need to be a little bit cautious in that in the PL things will be different - and like you I have no idea what the best eleven is especially the midfield positions altho having said that I still worry a bit about the lack of a real top notch defensive midfielder like say Makalele or a Mascherano, That could be a weak area as i not sure Can is a good fit for that exact role but he is maybe the nearest we have got. :LB is still the big worry - and I put my thoughts on it a few days ago - get Hector asap sums it up!! If you had been discussing Hodgson then fair do's. I sense following LFC in the last BR season was a bit like MUFC fans felt when they saw MUFC underachieve under LVG and Moyes - cos that is what Scholes seemed to be saying whenever I heard him talk as a pundit last season. |
