ALL that possession and Burnley score a second. Ludicrous.

Burnley 2 up now.

Same old stuff against a team below us in the table.

Get stuck into the team you captain Henderson FFS.

Are you ready for the same old guys?

So predictable. Missing Mane's pace out wide badly. We look just like we did last season. Every attack we have is exactly the same. Everyone stood in the middle of the pitch except the FBs and not influencing the game at all.

Its the same problem we've had for years, Since the Benetez era, We can go out and beat the best teams in the league one week, get stuffed by bottom of the table clubs next week.

The defence is a shambles, we would be better off sticking some cones up instead.

Yikes 2-0 down. Huge 2nd half needed.

From you? Yes.

Gave the ball away for both goals.

Whenever we get the ball into the box we don't seem to do much with it. Looks like we're going to need a Coutinho wondergoal if we hope to do much.

Maybe Origi can do something in the second half.

I was going to say that.

Agreed. You could almost expect this against a Dortmund in the EL last season but it's a newly promoted side. Credit that they have taken both goals very well though.

Made that hole for ourselves now and need some of that euro comeback mentality.

Knew this was going to happen. We beat Arsenal away but lose to teams like Burnley.

If we can get the next goal though its game on... we've got goals in us so you never know!

I can count on you to keep quoting me too when I say how it is, and the Munch.

Considering Coutinho has skied about 4 shots, and misplaced nearly every final pass he's attempted to make, I'd say that's looking unlikely.

What's odd is that we've been poor defensively for some time now. I'm talking years. And in those years we've not had a solid defensive midfielder other than Lucas. When Lucas was playing and playing well we conceded fewer goals.

Now we're playing Henderson in that role and I'm so confused. He keeps vacating the space he should be in and leaving the centre backs exposed, and his distribution has been sketchy. Not to mention the fact that Wijnaldum is in there too and he's an attacking midfielder, so is providing no help. Will we ever sign a defensive midfielder?

Only because you only post to grouch and rarely have anything positive to say. It's relentless. Don't hear as much from you when things are going well.

Yes, both he and Sturridge have looked way off - but we've getting enough of the ball to suggest we're still in this. Just need to click.

I'm beat, we've changed managers, we've changed players and the defensive problem is still present, what exactly is the issue?

The forum for me is place to moan, if I need to celebrate I'll likely be out so don't expect to see me on here much

Which will delight you I am sure.

One of Can or Grujic has got to be in the first XI long term to offer some protection to the back 4. I understand both players are box-to-box midfielders, but I'd hope that they're both disciplined enough to play a deeper role if required.

The small scrap of hope is that we've got the firepower to get back into this. Origi will hopefully come on sooner or later and with a bit of luck, we can still win this. We were in a similar situation away to Norwich last year, so hopefully we'll see some spirit and quality from the team in the 2nd half.

Well if you only ever post to moan or when bad things happen and go quiet when things are going well, don't be surprised when people are bothered by it.

It's the inconsistency - we seen to need adversity to start playing sometimes too. The stats on this game are freakish. If we had box kind of ruthlessness we'd be OK. Only the first goal was down to a defensive issue - the usually steady Clyne giving the ball away in a bad area. The second was our forward players being sloppy and we were done by a good counter.

Mentally, we seen to be always needing a reboot. The best teams are usually always not far off in terms of focus whistle we've not.

Still, here's hoping we get the next goal...

I'd get Moreno on here. Milner has had acres of space time and time again, and done nothing with it.

We've signed some really bad defenders, that's been pretty consistent since Benitez left.
