I don't rate Ibe, he will be replaced by Firmino when match fit.

Credit to Firminho if he understands what Gary McAllister's accent is saying to him on the touchline

Coutinho has become the Suarez or earlier career Gerrard of this side, in that we now expect something special when he has the ball.

Did Rodgers bring Ings in just to warm the bench?

Lallana has been utter shit, and why has Brendan gone defensive against Bournemouth?!

Not happy with 2nd half performance. Fluidity not there yet.
Lallana needs to do more. Bournemouth played well tonight. |

This is such a nervy watch.Bournemouth are playing well but we shouldn't still be conceding possession so freely at home late on in the game. One of the reasons is it's so early in the season and Bournemouth are as fresh as us.The other more worrying factor is Rodgers substituting to protect the lead, rather than going for a game killing goal at home.

Didn't think we played well. First 20 mins was poor.
I think the system left us too open. A lot of gaps on the pitch. Lallana needs to do much much more. |

6 points is great from our opening two games but we have been so lucky with the decisions this evening.
Arsenal away up next in a week's time. I'll be overjoyed with a point there after our two less than convincing performances. |

Not a great performance, but I'd rather have the 3 points than the critical acclaim Cheers Brenny

Mignolet has more PL clean sheets (11) in 2015 than any other keeper

We could dissect that performance and highlight the negatives, of which there were plenty.
But personally, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy a solid win. Benteke, Clyne and Gomez my 3 standout players, we've seemingly bought very well this summer. |

Lallana improved as the game wore on whereas Ibe faded. Moreno's cameo was a highlight as was Milner's work rate and, of course, Benteke. Gomez classy yet raw on occasions as you'd expect. Lovren grew into the game after a tentative start. |

Two wins, two clean sheets so I shouldn't really complain... but I will!
Lovren looked very nervy for some reason, don't know why he would after his solid performance at Stoke. How on earth did Lallana get 90 minutes and Ings/Origi not get any? Gomez is a great prospect, delighted to see him force his way into the team but lets not forget, he is not a left back. he is a central defender and can cover at RB. I don't agree with right footed players playing at left back. Often a clearance needs to made with the left foot and he obviously looked uncomfortable. Moreno to come back in for Arsenal (unless we play three at the back, then we could stick with Gomez at CB and have Moreno and Ibe as wing backs. |

Pretty uninspired again but with 6 points from 2 games you have got to be fairly happy. As I have said before I'd take boring and winning over exciting and losing. The acid test will come next week when we play AFC, if we play like we have done so far I cannot see us picking up any points there but we'll see - maybe against a better team we will up our game.
Goal was offside - no question, the disallowed one was maybe the right decision but if I was a Bournemouth fan I would not be happy. Felt Benteke did well and Coutinho whilst he makes mistakes is always capable of something inspired - most of our inspired play came through him. Words I could use to describe the other players would be promising, OK, competent, anonymous or poor - you decide which suits which player!! |

Another 3 points, Whilst always good I hope we find another gear soon and look a little more lively. Although a season of 1-0 victories wouldn't be all bad

A strange game for me tonight that one, I didn't really enjoy it very much, but saying that there were a few good performances from several individuals.
Benteke: I thought played much better tonight than he did at Stoke. We are still not getting the crosses in to get the most from him ( ironically Bournemouth put in better crosses than us, but had nobody to take advantage). Glad he got a goal (even though clearly offside) and he should really have got another. Coutinho: The majority of our creativity, certainly the best of it, came through him. He just didn't have his shooting boots on tonight, hopefully he's saving those for next week. Milner and Hendo and Can: Lots of energy and effort put into it, especially from Milner. Clyne and Moreno: both provided good influence and opportunities going forward, the final pass/delivery is all that was needed. Ibe and Lallana: I think they were a big part of the problem tonight, neither delivered the type of crosses Benteke will thrive on and neither provided the pace and excitement that can motivate the team and crowd to get right into the game. Bournemouth played well enough, had a few decent crosses and were a threat from those corners. I didn't their their goal should have stood as the players hands were around Lovren's neck and that's a foul for me ( Skrtel take note! ). If they can find, and can afford, an experienced striker with a proven goal threat before the end of the window, they should definitely push the boat out for him. I think we need to step it up next week in terms of quality and pace. That's going to be difficult as we probably won't have anywhere near as much of the ball. I'd be tempted to go for a 4-5-1 with Moreno playing left midfield ahead of Gomez and Lallana or Firmino in front of Clyne on the right. Two weeks into the season, Hendo and Allen injured and we're contemplating selling lucas? ......mmmmm

Cruyff : "If you bring the ball out well initially then you'll play well. If you don't do that then there's no chance of playing well."
I think not having a ball playing centre half who can pass the ball has lot to do with why we look disjointed. We are going direct too often rather than keeping the ball and picking the moments when to go forward rather than just hitting it to benteke. I don't think we are right in midfield with a deep playing ball player. Henderson isn't great at facing own goal and taking the ball from defenders. Allen is probably the best player we have who can take the ball and turn away with it in one motion. At the moment we don't have anyone who can control the tempo of the game and dictate. We will get dominated in midfield without a player comfortable in taking possession from the defenders and getting us playing. Vital @ arsenal we keep the ball a lot better than the last two games. If we don't pass it their we will get overrun. |

Lallana for me wants to occupy spaces that Coutinho operates in and we look lopsided. Ibe is showing his age and can do with coming out but Lallana's place in the side needs looking at as in the current role his non existent. |
