Fingers crossed Matip can build on today and be the dominant centre half we've missed.
He was a standout performer. |

A point away at Spurs is always a good result, but it feels like we've let two points slip away. The game seemed like our's for the taking, but Spurs stepped it up on the second half. Michel Vorm was on it today, and after their goal it felt like we lost a bit going forward.
I would have brought Sturridge on earlier, or even started him or Origi. I wouldn't have started with Firmino in that position against a team like Spurs. Oh well, could've been worse, and there are positives to take from it. Mané continues to impress, looks like he got tired a bit in the second half. Being at risk of getting sent off wouldn't have helped. Hendo played better than he has done recently, and Wijnaldum had more presence in this game I felt. Our MOTM for me would be either Mané or Milner. Matip is a contender, too. |

Matip picks up a cheap yellow on the verge of the final whistle.
After Burnley I'd have taken a point today but disappointed not to win after that first half dominance. Playing at Anfield at long last again next time. The champions Leicester await us there. |

Really not convinced we needed Wijnaldum.
Sturridge on after 87 mins very bizarre. |

Sky commentator suggesting Klopp thinks he needs to be more of a team player. I couldn't give a monkey's about that if he keeps on scoring.
He is on now in the 89th minute for Mane. If he not playing then we ain't scoring enough goals. If he spends more time on the bench then come January he will be asking for discussion. |

Apart from Mane it looks like nothing has changed and doesn't look like it will.

That doesn't fill me with confidence either as we've lost some stupid games at home last season.

It's only 3 games in. No need for doomsday.
A win @the arsenal and draw @ spurs isn't bad. Yes a defeat v burnley isn't good but way to early to write off the season. |

The team was set up right today. The performance justifies the team selection it's just the players didn't take the chances they created.

Anyone think Mignolet could of done better? Think he could of made himself bigger and not get beat near post.

Played well apart from our passing degraded once Spurs scored. Bit of a lost opportunity given how the game went but we made Spurs look poor and at least earned the opportunity to win at Spurs which is to be commended. Some people are too keen to criticise because of disappointment - not many teams will dominate Spurs like that at White Hart Lane this season. Despite the varied results, we've not been outplayed in any game away yet and, for me, that's very encouraging. We'll pick up our fair share of points on our travels if we continue like this.
Looked steadier at the back but I agree the goalkeeper could've got his angles better sorted for their goal. |

The goal aside, I thought Mignolet had a decent game.

Again, you lot are such hard taskmasters, you were even like this after the Arsenal game with all the negatives, what is going on??
We played well, we scared the hell of of them, and overall were the far better team. Manes goal was 50/50, but was good, Couts should have had at least 2 that were set up with perfection for him, and Migs made a couple of 1st class saves that Spurs should have got - but we still should have won. I agree on that. For those of you that can see 'nothing different to Rodgers', I suggest you look again, we are better, faster, slicker and breaking down defences better. Oh I know Burnley, that was the match (as quoted on Sky) that was Manes best match - it was when we all fully realised what a difference he makes when playing, so badly did we miss him. We also have gone 4 matches without being at Anfield, and that we knew was going to be tough for us and the team, that bit is done now, and we came away with 1/2 the points we should have. Once we get the new stadium up and roaring there will be a massive upsurge from everyone. Come on, think positive, W1, D1, L1 - meh, it could have been so much worse. |

Since Klopp took over less than a year ago here are some selected results - all of these games have been far more exciting than anything in the last year of Rodgers. Its been the same problem for years and you can deny it but it all boils down to lack of quality players. I appreciate we don't have the money but until we do we can't expect much better. Man United prime example of what spending big can do.

What about Tottenham 0 Liverpool 3? Rodgers did know how to beat Tottenham, 2 wins and 9 goals against them the previous season.
Point scoring apart I can agree that things now under Klopp are still not as good as we would want them to be and some of the selections and perhaps the transfer decisions some of us would dispute but we are less than a year into the journey. I think anyone with a remotely fair mind would have to look at it and say there were grounds for hope and to trust him to develop the club and the squad in a good way continuing the encouraging start he has made so far. |
