Is anyone else amused that fans of other clubs are riled with the nature of our wins? I know a Chelsea fan and a Sours fan who appear to be apoplectic that lucky Liverpool won with the help of the ref.
![]() I think what many fail to realise is that had Bournemouths goal stood or had Bentekes been chalked off, the game would have played out differently. Who's to say what would have happened? |

Cruyff : "If you bring the ball out well initially then you'll play well. If you don't do that then there's no chance of playing well."
I think not having a ball playing centre half who can pass the ball has lot to do with why we look disjointed. We are going direct too often rather than keeping the ball and picking the moments when to go forward rather than just hitting it to benteke. I don't think we are right in midfield with a deep playing ball player. Henderson isn't great at facing own goal and taking the ball from defenders. Allen is probably the best player we have who can take the ball and turn away with it in one motion. At the moment we don't have anyone who can control the tempo of the game and dictate. We will get dominated in midfield without a player comfortable in taking possession from the defenders and getting us playing. Vital @ arsenal we keep the ball a lot better than the last two games. If we don't pass it their we will get overrun. What makes me all the more angry is that last season Rodgers refused to adapt the team's approach to accommodate the striker we had available, instead sidelining said striker in favour of a make-shift and ultimately fruitless attack but he's bending over backwards to fit the team to Benteke, and what do you know... he scores goals! Rodgers seems more interested in a player's personality and work ethic than their actual ability. I'm not sure that's how you manage the best players in a top team and it's why we lose good players. |

Definitely need more control in the middle of the park. We give away the ball too cheaply and vs better teams we will get punished.
With allen injured I wouldn't mind another player being brought in if he can do that role. Lovren for me still very nervous and gets turned too easily. The way callum Wilson turned past him early on was worrying. I wouldn't play him vs arsenal. I like benteke but we are a bit too direct for my liking. I wanna see us build from the back more. Skrtel and lovren are not that great with precise forward passes though so its a problem. |

As someone who really wanted Lallana and Lovren in, they've been mediocre at best. Lallana had a month where he looked like the Southampton player but apart from that there's been very little from him. Lovren might be doing better defensively recently, however he can't pass for shit, which means our attacking play is very slow and disjointed.
Ibe seems wasted on the left, he looked dangerous last year playing on the right hand side. We've started our last two seasons looking disjointed, the first season we had Suarez to come back and we almost won the league, last year it took until the United game to finally look like we had a settled formation, but by then it was too late as we were playing catch up to get 4th place. Brendan really needs to get a settled 11 and playing style sorted ASAP. I'd have Sakho and Moreno back in the starting 11 to begin with and also play Ibe wide right. and |

Once sturridge is back, I hope we play a 442 diamond and stop playing people out of position. I think it would get the most out of our style of play and I want to see how well out two best strikers work together.

What team to play V Arsenal is a big dilemma. In some ways you want to make big changes as if we perform as we have done it is hard to see anything but a defeat but then teams that chop and change too much are rarely successful and so it may be a mistake to make too many changes. Mind you WHU did win at the Emirates so it is not impossible for us to win at all.
In 2 matches so far Ibe and Lallana have done very little and so they cannot complain if they are left out and I think they should be. Also maybe Hendo could be out too with injury - a shame as I like him but not the kind of blow that makes the task impossible as others could come in and do what he does I think in general we need to aim first and foremost to be solid and defensively sound V Arsenal - keep them out to begin with, frustrate them and then later break out and try to score. The first 20 minutes will be crucial. I think I would go with Can in CM in place of Lallana = defensively stronger but he can contribute in attack too, Moreno in place of Ibe to play in front of Gomez and protect him and also provide attacking options with width, pace and direct running from the wing and then Lucas if Hendo was not fit as he too will provide defensive solidity and protect the back four |

I'd bring in Sakho for the Arsenal game, but also my midfield three would be Lucas with Can and Hendo if fit, if not Can and Coutinho I guess.. If Hendo is fit Coutinho goes on the left and Ibe on the right.
Coutinho if on the left wouldn't offer protection to Gomez but I'd still keep him in the side. If Hendo isn't fit I'd stick Markovic on the left as he'd put a shift in. |

I like Gomez, he loosks a real steal however the balance is off.
We have two right footed Centre backs with a right footed left back. Gomez more times than not turns inside onto his stronger foot so the ball comes inside before going to the left. I think maybe if we had Sakho in the side it would help as he can open the play down the left hand side of the pitch with his let foot. Currently we look lopsided. Arsenal will be interesting as last year they pressed us high first 15 mins and we could handle it. |

I can only assume Sakho has had another attitude lapse a la pre Merseyside dervy that time. BR seems to be emphasizing attitude in post match. Maybe the fallout from the 1-6 at Stoke was more pronounced than we're aware of in terms of the fate of the likes of Moreno and Sakho.

Lovren was his buy I think he wants it to work but its a risk. His done alright the last couple of games but I still think he will struggle against better opposition. Toure seems ahead of Sakho though at the moment which does ponder the question of what will happen with Sakho? |

People look to much into players being dropped. Not just with Liverpool but in general. Fans tend do look for controversy rather then just accepting a manager wants to play somebody else.
Moreno only has himself to blame as defensively he was poor in his first season. Gomez has surprised everyone with how well he has done. Don't believe there is a problem between Rodgers and sakho. Rodgers could have easily shipped him off to Roma if that was the case. New rumours that Bayer Leverkusen made an offer for sakho last night and it was rejected. Rodgers for some reason is sticking with Lovren. I do believe he will regret it as lovren is not good enough and will be exposed soon enough. I don't believe sakho will be happy come January if he is still out of the team. He could lose his French place if so and he will want to play. As for the arsenal game. No way we can just sit back and allow them to come at us. Yeah some teams have stolen results this way but I would never play that way. You concede a goal early and the whole game plan is out of the window. I am not saying the team should go toe to toe but there has to be some balance between attack and defense. 10 behind the ball, parking the bus is not the way I wanna see Liverpool play vs anyone. |

Thats speculating. Moreno I being dropped I think was more down to him defensivly not being great and needing to improve on that side of things.

A lot of talk on sky about the goal that shouldn't of been. I think we can all agree it was a terrible decision by the ref especially since it seemed to be the definition of what rule was. Maybe the ref should go back and study it some more. He also should of allowed the Bournemouth goal. So we definitely got lucky. Let's hope luck doesn't run out.

I'm not amused, no. I'm very worried that we've basically lucked into 6pts. We could so easily have lost last night. 6 points from 6 is great but I'm not able to ignore the nature of our play....

We'll be much more potent once our other players run beyond Benteke's flicks and knock downs. Ideally, Sturridge if we're brave enough to play both (in home games certainly). That and getting Firmino up to speed. Plenty to look forward to yet.

Henderson has been carrying pain in the sole of his foot for a couple of weeks, and played last night on painkillers. Seems they wore off and he had to be subbed due to being in so much pain. This from Rodgers interview on LFCTV live this evening.

Oh, I need to hear this. How did we cheat against Newcastle? Was it because Dummett was incorrectly sent off, is that it?
Why is it that when we get spawny wins, it's only our fanbase that frets? United did it for pretty much the ENTIRETY of last season, and they finished the season in the top 4. And I guarantee, United fans were lapping it up. |

Eventually average performances catch up with you. There is nothing wrong with criticising the bad stuff of our game at the moment.
Lest we forget that Arsenal, Spurs, Southampton, Everton and Chelsea have all dropped points against 'crap' or 'average' teams. |

Sure, there's nothing wrong with constructively criticising a performance, but I feel like there's more pessimism here than there is optimism, which is crazy. You wouldn't think we were above 17 other teams in the table with maximum points. It's the kind of attitude Imonfire became infamous for.
Lest we forget that Arsenal, Spurs, Southampton, Everton and Chelsea have all dropped points against 'crap' or 'average' teams. I'm not complaining about 2 wins out of 2 though. |

Glad we won but Liverpool was very lucky to get those 3 points.
I am disappointed with Lallana. He has got the talent but it's not showing in the games so far. Very confused about our tactics and the way we are playing when we have ball players who can keep the ball and pass it up field from defence and build up play. Not sure what Rodgers is doing and we certainly should not be playing Louvren, I am terrified every time he touches the ball. Worried we are going to be too reliant on Coutinho. Rodgers has been giving till Christmas I guess to see if we see an improvement from last season. |

Kovacic to Madrid for 25 mil is a steal considering we've spent the same amount on Lallana. I would have really loved him here, I hope he doesn't rot on the bench at Madrid, could be one of the best in the few years.
