Bit of luck but we've deserved it in the second half.
1-2 Milner penalty, 84mins. |

We've been gifted that. We've been the best team in the second half, but still gifted it.
Just don't throw it away! |

Firmino's always causing problems for defenders and it pays off.
Great pen from Milner.

Lucky at the death there, nearly 2-2, but we held on, and move up to 2nd in the table

That was tough, made tougher by the early goal we gave away. A gritty fighting performance in the second half rescued a precious result before the international break. Least said about the heart attack right at the end the better.

Character shown today. Much as I'd like us to put loads of goals past teams as we have been at Anfield, winning ugly against a team right up for it can be just as satisfying.
Bring on Utd to Anfield a fortnight on Monday after the international break.

Well, you know what they say about teams winning ugly...and we're now two points behind the leaders.
![]() Hoping for a draw tomorrow between Spurs and City. Oh, and I hate international breaks. ![]() It'd give Lallana time to get fit for Man United, though, if he can, but it means other players are at risk of getting crippled. |

Now that's a hard-fought 3 points!
Didn't play well at all first half. Klopp's HT team talk must have been a belter because we came out looking totally different. Coutinho actually started getting involved and huge credit to Firmino who scored a good goal before winning the penalty for the 2nd. Up to 2nd with Spurs and City facing off tomorrow. Then the international break...

Nerve racking game but a great result.
If Arsenal and Spurs draw or lose, we stay in 2nd place. |

I'm a bit concerned about Karius. Mourinho will stick the height of Ibrahimovic and Pogba all over him at the set piece. It would be the same with Mignolet but that'll be an interesting selection.

Were playing the best attacking football in the league at the moment, looked a bit sloppy in the first half but more than made up for it in the second half.

Just about got over the line. Swansea were deservedly ahead at half time but we were definitely the better team by far in the second half and deserved to win.
Our defending is worrying though, Van der horn should have made it 2-2... completely unmarked from 5 yards out in the dying minutes ? One of our centre backs should be dealing with that. No clean sheet in 7 games in the PL now. |

Very happy with the 3 points and that's what counts at the end of the season. Thought Coutinho played well after Lallana was subbed as we needed someone who can beat men through midfield. Hendo blew hot and cold. One minute putting us under pressure in defence and the next playing incisive passes in the final third.
Karius can play well with his feet but is no upgrade in the box on Mignolet so far. Milner is having a great season. His pens are cancelling out our set piece defending. I love Firmino! Looks like a kid opening a present at Christmas when he scores! |

That's 4 goals, 1 assist for Milner so far this season...from left-back!
We were so lucky to get such a good penalty taker right after Gerrard. |

I love the fact that our left back is our top scorer, and he's level with Zlatan on Premier League goals. Both are on four goals.
He's only one goal behind Aguero.

What a fantastic win today, it didn't look like we were going get much from that at half time.
Our biggest win of the season to grab 2nd with Spurs and City to play, a draw would be nice. |

I have been away for 3 weeks - awesome trip to Russia (where I watched the Leicester game in a pub in Moscow!!), Mongolia and for the last week China (Hull game live on TV there - kick off 10 at night) and only got back today just before the match started. Unlike many of you I was basically happy with our play and never really felt we'd ;lose - unless they had gone 2-0 up. For me we should win both home and away V most teams outside the top 7 but Swansea to me are one of the harder ones and we have got a result there which is excellent. Of course the odd slip is inevitable but we need to limit such results if we are to achieve our potential
We are exciting to watch and so offensively minded - we had 5 attacking when we broke even in the last 5 minutes - I thought we started sharpish but them scoring knocked us back and for the rest of the first half we hardly threatened. Second half tho was a different story and we deserved more than one for the way we attacked and altho it maybe looked like we were not going to get the second there now seems a belief about us that says we need to win these sort of games - and can do so - and we did!! Defensively we are a worry for sure but overall we have to be happy with the way we are playing so far and the results it has brought us. Who knows what we can achieve - as I have always said about this season I will not put a place on it - but \i think we can be fairly confident that we should be able to end up better than last season's 8th. |

Good start to the games today as Super Joe Allen gets the equaliser for Stoke at Old Trafford and holds out next opponents Utd to a 1-1 result.
3 points ahead of Mourinho's team now with the chance to make it 6 at Anfield after the international break. Now for a draw between Spurs and City please

Adam Lallana is out for a while with a groin injury so he misses the WC qualifiers.
That could be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully he will have recovered and be fresh for the United game on Monday 17th October. |

Spurs now 2 up, so looking like us on 16, Spurs on 17, City on 18
![]() EDIT: If Arsenal beat Burnley, then they'll be on 16 points as well, but above us on GD. |

I love reading the tweets saying Klopp is a genius for selling Benteke and Allen. Who scored equalisers against Everton and Utd this weekend
