We should have conceded near the end when that guy was offside. How did no one see him? If he was onside that was probably going in.

Hendo picked up a yellow, so he's got a one-match suspension. Luckily it's against Spurs in the League Cup on Tuesday. It may even be a tactical booking so he doesn't miss a league game.

Oh, and Lucas came on and didn't get a yellow. Today's been a good day.

Ehhh, not ideal after our brilliant start, but I'd have probably taken 2-1 before kick off. This is a huge banana skin we just avoided...

Plenty of positives. We were worth at least another goal. McAuley with some South American shoulder skills for the consolation. We are still flying compared to last year.

It was a big slip up considering the results and tomorrows game, I feared for my weekend I really did

Expected it to be much tougher than that. We eased into a 2-0 lead and definitely should have increased it! Shaky finish but the 3 points will do.

Won't help our confidence going away to Palace next week when we've conceded from another corner but I'm sure Klopp will try to address it during the week.

Some sublime football at times from the lads in our attack. Firmino's cross was perfect for Mane's goal and how Coutinho keeps fooling defenders in the box with those feints is a testament to his skill.

Onto Spurs and I wonder if we'll continue to put out a strong side. It wouldn't surprise me to see a slightly weakened team from Spurs with their schedule starting to pick up.

Nope ....same points but behind Arsenal on goal difference,,,our birthday present for Arsene ...

I thought we were pretty good overall, could easily have been 4 up before they came into the game but a combination of good saves and blocks kept it to 2 and the we again fails to properly defend a corner.

3 points all that mattered for me though in the end.

I'd like to see Danny Ings, Origi (or Sturridge) Lucas, MIgs in for the Spurs game but we'll see if Klopp thinks we can use his main players in all comps.

No excuses we should have killed the game off in the second half. Made the last ten minutes exciting though.

First, second, fourth or fifth, at this stage of the season it doesn't really matter what position we're in. The more important thing is to keep the points total clicking over. It's a long slog through the winter months with the Christmas schedule, then in the new year we'll have, for the first time in a while, important absentees going off to the African Cup. The plan should be to keep picking up enough points to keep out name near the top of the league, then come March time start looking at positions and pick a target to aim for.

Good performance today, it would be nice to put two good halves together in the same game. I'm guessing maybe they subconsciously dropped off a little keeping themselves for Spurs. And our goalkeeper still needs some work to bring him upto PL level.

Can't wait to have Stevie back at the club. Assume it's going to be some sort of coaching role. Wouldn't mind giving him a 6 month contract or something just so he can officially retire here.

Imagine if he'd been able to work with Klopp in his prime. Their styles would be perfect for eachother. Even in the days of Rafa's negative (but effective) football, he used to turn the tempo of the game up to 11 almost single-handedly.

I must admit that I had never noticed this from Mane until it appeared on my FB feed.

Lots of talk today about Stevie coming home after an instagram post he made, hope it's soon but it will happen eventually in a coaching role I would think

Just seeing him in the stadium and on the touchline again will be amazing.

Good result everyone has dropped points this weekend.

Now a Chelsea draw would be the ideal result but I would love for Man U to get hammered and be 6 points off

I also want a draw at Stamford Bridge today but now De Gea decides to get the yips along with Blind and Chelsea lead 1-0 very early.

4-0 Chelsea. Absolute joke the praise the Mourinho loving media were giving him for the point against us. Had as much to do with our midfield changes and our momentum bring stalled by the International break than to his great tactics

For a man with a supposedly fiery temperament Conte was a class act there not reacting to Mourinho's earful at full time.

Off to find the post match pressers

Haven't been in the United thread but I'm wondering if bats thinks their defence is a bit suspect like he thinks the Liverpool defence is
