Well, apparently our defence is crap and their defence is good, despite now having conceded 1 less than them. We have +9 GD, they have +1. But, yeah, our defence is crap and Mané is our only good player.

He was hoping they'd put 4 past us, saying things like that sure tempts fate to bite you in the ass lol

He was contradicting himself and talking rubbish some fans turned on him, what a night Man U get battered and the fans turn on each other
Happy to take the 3 points, we played very well in that 1st half, far better than we did v Man Utd. I know they didn't really allow us to play but last week some of our flicks and passes were not coming off whereas v WBA they were.
Loved that 1st goal, from the brilliant dummy by Coutinho, Can's involvement, the Firmino cross and the Mane finish, brilliant team goal.
The 2nd was class too, chasing and putting them under pressure to a great goal from Phillipe.
Nice to see half of the team at Lucas's daughters birthday party, nice they spend time together off the pitch too, must add to the "togetherness" on it.
Seems odd that we'd field a weaker team than we did against Burton/Derby, but it's nice for the kids/fringe players to get game time.”
Like some of those picks but like you question us picking a weaker team than the other rounds - but looking at it there is still some talent there and for sure we have the players who can help us win the game.
I missed some of the pre season games and have never seen Alexander Arnold or Ejaria play although I have heard a lot about them so looking forward to that.
I feel a bit sad that Sakho is still left out the picture and that Ings is not getting a start - but I do think we will see |ngs at some point of the evening.
I do like Klavan, Origi and Gruic tho and am glad to see all 3 of them play. Like many LFC fans I really like Lucas too but worry about him being a CB and I have my doubts about Stewart but we will see - in some of his recent games he has been quite good.
Looking forward to seeing more of Alexander-Arnold, Grujic and Ejaria. Sensible, steady picks throughout the team and a bteak-glass-in-case-of-emergency bench

Ejaria could be a revelation for fans that haven't seen him yet. I am actually really looking forward to seeing how this one pans out, both teams are full of second or third options.
Decent first half. Bit worried about our defence though. Moreno, Lucas, Klavan and Mignolet have all got away with bad passes in their own final third a few times. We won't keep getting away with it.
Also, don't know how anyone could 'lose interest' because a few Fringe players are playing? We don't have a team, we have a squad. A number of the players playing tonight are an important member of the squad still.
People complain when youngsters don't get a chance and then they complain when they do.

Well said! P's me off that some seem to think this is beneath them to watch.

Yep, the pressing from Spurs has been good and we've been fortunate on a couple of occasions where they've won the ball back but given away a silly foul or something in the process.
We could be more than 1 goal ahead though, our own pressing has brought about some chances. Hopefully grab a second early on in the second half. Grujic is looking the standout so far for me. Would like to see Ings get on soon.
