Mane was excellent bar his finishing, which on this occasion was dreadful.
You know who had a belter game? Moreno. Can't really fault him for either goal, and offensively he contributed a lot. This is the player we were hoping we signed 2 years ago, and hopefully if he plays again, he'll keep it up. |

I am browsing the forum and we have played today and I have not posted in our thread - so I must do right now.
Mind you I have not much to say apart from once again how good we were - I love watching us play these days and so I think do most of the UK public. Klopp has only had a year in charge and the way we play is unrecognisable from what it was when he took over. At that stage I hated the way we played. I watched our games out of a sense of duty and was often bored stiff.. Today I did not feel we had a weak link really - OK yeah some were better than others but all played their part. Hendo and Cout for me were the 2 best - but I bet others of you pick different players - it does not matter!! If only we could stop conceding daft goals - when it was 2-2 it was ridiculous as we had totally dominated and yet they had somehow scored 2 goals - and we were the away team. Even so it turned out OK in the end. I really do think we can now legitimately be called contenders this season - but that is all we are. Lets hope we get a good total of points between now and when we play MCFC over Christmas as we play a lot of teams who most would think we were superior to and should win against - that will be a big factor as to whether we turn from being contenders into being champions - as games of football are not won on paper they are won on the pitch and it would be easy to slip up as we saw at Burnley. |

4-2! Wasn't the slip up that people feared. It was a potential slip up, it's Crystal Palace, and at their ground. That's a big win for us because of how often we've dropped points to this side. I think it could make the next match against them easier, knowing that we can beat them. If we can stop them being our bogey side then I'll be happy.
Haven't had a chance to catch highlights as I'm tucked up in bed ahead of an early start tomorrow but hopefully see them when I get home tomorrow evening. |

We are finally winning the crappy games we should win rather than the big games which we usually do win anyway which is quite an achievement as we've been in that rut since the Benitez era. We are very much like the Leicester of last season, we are playing like a team, no major superstars taking all the credit like in the Suarez era, we are all gelling together nicely and it is impressive to watch, And yes unlike some clubs we are liked.

Those 2 goals we conceded were bloody terrible, defence needs sorting.

Coutinho was a joy again yesterday. As with the last couple of games it was a bit nervy at times but we should really have won at a canter again as we should have in those previous games.
Man missed a couple of brilliant chances for sure. Seems a bit like our Suarez/Sturridge Prem challenge when we got pipped by City, great going forward but mistakes at the back. Great to watch though, keep it going lads. Karius worries me a bit still, I know it's early days still for him but if we are to challenge we need a keeper who saves us points, sadly I dont think we currently have that with either of our keepers . Time for improvement yes, but if we want to be contenders we haven't really got time to bed him in. |

There was a good point made on the RedmenTV. In previous years, you had standout players. If you asked people who their MOTM is they'd probably all say Gerrard, Torres, or Suárez. They were the outstanding player, who we were pretty reliant on. Now if you ask a group of people who their MOTM is, each one could give you a different answer. One would say Hendo, another Coutinho, another Firmino, another Matip.
I think that says a lot about us and how good we are. We've got so many good players playing well that any one of them could be considered the MOTM. |

Think Moreno could have done more to stop Zaha's cross, but aside from that he had a great game.
And he looked impressive in the game because Wifried Zaha was so bad at trying to fill in at Right back he made Moreno look like Paolo Maldini |

I love the fact that when we attack, our front 3 and Lallana end up almost anywhere in the final 3rd. |

15-year-old Emeka Obi has confirmed that he is now officially a Liverpool player after updating his Twitter bio to: “Footballer at Liverpool FC.” Seems like we've snapped up a really hot talent without letting other teams get so much as a sniff. Good work.
The talented youngster, who became Bury's youngest player in August after appearing against Morecambe, is regarded as one of the hottest prospects to come out of the UK in recent years, prompting Liverpool to pounce. It it reported by the Daily Star that Liverpool will have to pay a 'six-figure sum' for the teenager and that he will join up with Liverpool's youth ranks. Bury boss David Flitcroft, who handed Obi his debut in August, has praised the young defender in the past, claiming that he is the best young talent in English football. As quoted in the Daily Star, he said: “I think he’s the best talent right now at 15 years old in the entire country. “He only came in the building two years ago and nothing fazes him. He’s been training with the first team and he’s going back to school next week. “We’ve had him for five weeks, training with the first team, training with Ryan Kidd and he’s been playing with the under-18s. “He’s just turned 15, he’s a man mountain, but we teach them how to play football and he’s going to be an unbelievable asset to the football club. “He’s a kid that’s really switched on, I’ve watched him while he’s been on summer holidays and he’s been in every single day.” Despite being just 15-years-old, Obi stands tall at 6ft 5" and according to his Bury manager he was what it takes to be a future star. |

He really can't catch a break can he?
He deserves to be injury free at least for a portion of his time with you guys. Eurosport : Danny Ings 'to miss the rest of the season' with knee injury - http://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/...31/story.shtml |

Just heard Danny Ings has done his other knee
![]() I feel so bad for the guy - If anyone deserved a bit of good luck, it was him. Has always looked promising in the tiny snippets we've seen from him, and only hope he can somehow keep his chin up and start again. Best wishes for a full recovery.

It hasn't been mentioned in this topic yet. Michael Edwards has been made our Sporting Direction. Good decision, I think. Klopp has said he still has the final say on decisions regarding transfers, and that anything that has gone wrong, or will go wrong in the future will be his responsibility.
I like that. Not hiding behind a transfer committee or blaming others for his failings. Michael Edwards has been at Liverpool since Damien Comolli brought him in in 2011. He was part of the transfer committee. Interestingly, he was in Southampton's youth academy. We do like our employees having a Southampton background. ![]() FSG wanted a Sporting Director for years, but Brendan Rodgers got in the way of that. Louis van Gaal was one of the people they were interested in. I can imagine him and Brendan clashing a lot. |

![]() Of course it's early days yet but he appears to have gone to the next level this season and added the missing ingredient to his game: consistency. Whereas in previous seasons he was often world class one week and anonymous the next, those anonymous performances are becoming much more few and far between. Remember when he first signed for us and his shooting was downright terrible? I mean, even his technique was bad, so he often struggled to lift the ball off the ground when shooting from range. You wouldn't believe it now. Yes, he still shoots a fair bit but more and more shots are rocketing towards the top corners. Having said that, if he did leave, I don't feel it would be anywhere near as damaging as when Suarez left, for example. Mainly because we've got other strong attacking options now, and partly because we'd hopefully extract a massive fee for him and be able to attract a good player in his stead to soften the blow. Congrats to Michael Edwards on his promotion. Klopp seems to rate him highly which is a good start. I know Klopp's not about to start slating him but the phrases and expressions he used in the press conference earlier smacked of genuine enthusiasm. There seems to be very little information about the man around which suggests he's a private guy who likes to get on with things in the background; probably a very good attribute for someone who's going to now take the lead on transfer negotiations!

Mainly because we've got other strong attacking options now, and partly because we'd hopefully extract a massive fee for him and be able to attract a good player in his stead to soften the blow. If we sold him in January, for example, then we can just move Wijnaldum to the left for the remainder of the season (where | believe he spent most of his time at Newcastle) and have a midfield three of Hendo, Lallana and Can. Or, if we have to, move Lallana to the right and Mané (AFCON-aside) to the left. And that's assuming we don't even replace him in January, and if we get £60m or something then we most likely will do. Hopefully we don't sell him, though. We'll survive if we do, he's not Suárez, but I want us to keep hold of our best players. Let them grow as part of the team. A Coutinho who's been here for a while and has adjusted (brilliantly) to Klopp's system is better than a Reus who will take time, and is unproven in the Premier League. Although at least with him he'd be used to Klopp's system, but, then, injuries. If it was Aubameyang, on the other hand, then cya Philippe. ![]() We don't need to have a new player coming in and settling into the team when we already have the star player we need, who's finally making that push towards becoming world class. He's been on the edge of it for a couple seasons, and he just needed consistency to get there. If we finish the season with him having an average of 8/10 performances, 7/10 at worst, he'll have made it to that level. |
