Is the Premier League back yet? It's not even the weekend and I still miss it.

It feels like time slows down during international breaks.

Not yet, back Saturday 19th.

We seriously have to get him to the table for a contract renewal asap, I'm pretty sure we are going to lose him in a year or so.

Just seen something cool on FB.

Messi, Suárez, Neymar:

10 games
18 goals
8 assists
Transfer fee: £144.5m

Coutinho, Firmino, Mané:

11 league games
16 goals
9 assists
Transfer fee: £81m

Makes it look more impressive when you look at it like that.

Coutinho is really making a name for himself now, just so consistent and scoring goals like this along with assists.

Please I hope we keep a hold of this little gem.

Where did you read this? - some paper or other? - that mate means it is a rumour not a fact so please stop talking like it is a fact. As with all these things we read them and treat them with a certain amount of suspicion until it happens. It may, it may not - who knows.

For me in the Klopp era the 2 players I think have not had a totally fair deal off him are Sakho and Joe Allen but cos he is such a good manager I trust him to make the right decisions as he knows far more than I do. After all the players he puts on the pitch each week are not doing too bad are they - and some quality players cannot even get near the team.

Onwards and upwards and all that.

Look how Joe is flourishing at Stoke.

Joe definitely made the right move for his career. Getting into the team ahead of Henderson, Can and Wijnaldum would have been nearly impossible.

I don't believe Klopp thought Allen had Henderson's engine or enough potency/mobility to be a first choice in his system - and Joe wanted that assurance. As for Sakho, a focused and unified dressing room is clearly being created and irrespective of Sakho's evident merits as a defender, his attitude and professionalism have been questionable and I suspect Klopp wanted to move any troublesome characters out to encourage the togetherness, spirit and work ethic that is so apparent in the team right now.

I hope my comments have not been misinterpreted - all I was saying was of the other players let go or left out I have little or no argument and they cannot in all honesty claim that Klopp did not give them a fair chance whereas with Sakho and Allen I felt they were maybe a bit unlucky.

Sakho was a cult hero who was playing really well round the Dortmund and Everton games last season and then the failed test messed up his season. The collapse of that charge must be very annoying for him - but it is maybe significant that the club did not come out too strongly in support of him. Then there was the lateness issue on the tour - not great but surely not a reason to leave out a potential first teamer for ever? Also I see his commitment to the LFC cause on the net and hear of him going into local schools doing work for the clubs charities so I think of him as not all bad and maybe a bit hard done by. At that point tho I have to say that I do not know all what has gone on whereas Klopp will do - and so i and all LFC fans have to trust Klopp on it. The morale being good I think we'd all agree is a key thing and what is clear is that the morale is now very good so it does seem as if Sakho's LFC future is at the very best in great doubt. It would be a shame but he maybe will have learnt lessons and if he did go I do not think the team would be adversely effected.

Allen was playing well when he got on the pitch at the end of last season (often as a sub) and did well in the Euros too being picked for the team of the tournament I think. So to me to sell him for 13m we have undervalued him (altho when you consider Benteke was 31m it balances that out - going off at a tangent a bit - I do not understand how values are calculated - length of contract maybe? position? age?). Anyway his form has continued for Stoke and Wales this season proving what a good player he is but really the 2 questions are 1) have we missed him? - answer no as we have top quality midfield options anyway and 2) Is the move good for Joe's career? - answer yes as he must be happy to know he will play every week which is something Klopp could not guarantee him at LFC almost no matter how well he was playing

The bottom line is we had too many players at the club and many were either poor or unsuitable for Klopp's style of play so the squad needed cutting down which was successfully done in the summer. We still have 25 or more players capable of playing for the first team - which is more than enough. The summer recruits also seem to be all pretty good with some excellent - compared to many recent windows when most recruits were poor with some average ones or young ones with potential. This summer we got players to come into the team straight away - in fact this was done so well that if we buy some young players with potential in the next few windows that would not be a problem. High profile recruits whilst welcome are not essential for the progress of the club.

Taken from FB:

Only 3 premier league teams attackers have created more chances than our back 4 of Clyne, Matip, Lovren and Milly this season.

Our back 4 have created 37 chances.

Does that also count the chances created for the oppo though, given our lack of clean sheets

If Gerrard goes to Celtic I'll be pissed off, it's such a pathetic league, he needs to retire and return to Anfield to start coaching.

Why? Nothing wrong with him doing his apprenticeship in coaching outside of a top tier premier league team..
