I haven't changed my mind very much from the aftermath of the Bournemouth game: I'd still play 4-5-1. That's not quite as defensive as it sounds because I'd have Moreno on the left in front of Gomez, and I see him ( Moreno) similar to a young Gareth Bale in that he's not quite a LB due to his natural attacking instincts; he's more a left midfielder, but he can certainly offer some defensive cover for the youngster against Sanchez, while also, hopefully, going on a few of those wild runs forward and getting a cross or two in.

While on the other side it's toss-up between Ibe or Firmino, both more attack minded so Can would need to be ready to help out Clyne when needed. It's not a defensive set-up as such, but it is certainly about counter-attacking because we will not get as much of the ball as we'd like or as we're used to.

My team wold be:
Mingolet/ Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren(?), Gomez// Can, Moreno, Milner, Firmino, Coutinho// Benteke.
Subs: Bogdan, Sakho, Toure, Lucas, Lallana, Ings, Ibe.

I think we need to try and make Arsenal play deep. We cant allow them to press high against us. We have to show we can get in behind and make them frightended to squeeze.

Dont think so.

The more I think of it I think we might go with a narrow 4-3-3.

Milner, Lucas and Can in midfield. Firminho, Benteke, Coutinho as as a front 3 with Coutinho driopping back in when needed.

The concern would be lack of pace in midfield.

My team would not be far off Taurus' team - in fact your teams are fairly similar and neither are that far off what I'd play. Neither of them have Ibe or Lallana in and that's fine by me as neither have played well in the 2 games so far and we cannot have passengers at AFC but whether BR will not make changes and keep them two in cos we have won the games I am not sure, I hope not. I also want to see Ings in a LFC shirt asap (maybe as a sub tonight if the situation merits it) but I guess I have to be patient as I am sure he will do well and he definitely gives the impression he would be a player who gives 100%

My own biggest concern? - Lovren starting!! - but I think that is inevitable so there is not much we can do about it.

CONFIRMED TEAM: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Gomez, Milner, Can, Lucas, Firmino, Coutinho, Benteke

CONFIRMED SUBS: Bogdan, Sakho, Moreno, Origi, Ings, Ibe, Rossiter

-------------------------------------------

Lucas starting? Lallana dropping out completely? Rossier on the bench? Rodgers has surprised me here. Let's hope it works.

I was right with my team selection. Woop woop.

Lallana is injured again. It's worrying how often he gets injured.

Sakho back in the match squad is good.

Firmino, Benteke and Coutinho to me suggests we are pressing high. That's how we need to play. Front three needs to chase and force arsenal into errors.

Good shout; no hiding for you if it all goes pear-shaped now tonight

I'm still just a little concerned about young Gomez being exposed to Sanchez ( one of the best players around), especially as he'll have Lovren beside him.

The main thing I want to see though is us starting the game with plenty of energy, pace and physical robustness; win those early challenges and 50/50's .

Press the hell out of Coquelin and Arsenal's centre backs and we may get somewhere - Firmino and Benreke can help in that respect. Can't let Arsenal get into any kind of rhythm or we might be toast. As always, hope the officials don't take centre stage and we give a good account of ourselves.

Nervous.

Arsenal I think will try and target that area of the pitch. Overload down the our left hand side. I'm worried about the pace of the midfield. It's one paced but we don't have other options.

Playing rather well, I'm even feeling slightly optimistic. I just hope we can grab a goal before half-time.

We should be 3-1 up here. Hit the bar, hit the post and Cech has made two WORLD CLASS saves. He would pick today to have a worldy wouldn't he? He couldn't have a mare like he did against West Ham.

Super lucky to get the offside decision against Ramsey, bad officiating again. But we've been by far the better team here, so I'd be devastated if we were behind.

Best 45 minutes of football from us so far this season. Gutted that we haven't scored yet, so unlucky with Coutinho twice and Benteke should have scored.

Probably end up losing now.

Good half for us that, Cechs kept em in it, some cracking saves, mind you, we should really be 1 down.
