Why would you go public with the news that you had turned down an honour?
Very strange.

Did he announce it or was it just in the news? Just asking.

They are meant to be secret until officially announced on New Years Day, so I assume he announced it.
Just guessing, though.

Why are you making the assumption that it was him who did so? - a claim for which you have no evidence.

Personally I would be very surprised if any publicity about this came from him - tho I don't know for sure as I have no evidence - but just from what I know of the man.

I did hear him this morning when he was interviewed on Radio 4's Today programme tho where as usual he came across very well

I'm not surprised. A couple wins and it's back to being the best at everything, when the league should have been given to the kids a couple weeks ago.

In contrast, we beat Stoke 4-1 and people feel disappointed, that we didn't play that well. Go figure. :P

We've also scored 45 goals. Give me our football any day. They can keep their "best in the league", we'll keep beating teams 4-1.

Good point on the Redmen TV's review show. We've been playing our third or fourth choice striker in Origi, not forgetting Ings, and third or fourth choice CB in Klavan, and we're getting results like this. And you could argue we don't have a first choice GK right now.
Come on, Munch. Don't have a pop at the rest of us because of one deluded soul.

I was more wondering out loud rather than claiming. But you have made fair points.

Oh, don't worry, I didn't mean for it to be about everyone.

You know how using names is frowned upon on here.

Less than using any of the words that were preferable to 'soul'.

When asked for his favourite moment in 2016, Jamie Carragher answered "Gary Neville at Valencia".

On the Sky Sports post on Facebook, of course, a lot of people took issue with it, "where are your PL medals, Jamie?". Learn to take a joke, eh?

Chelsea back in front, must win game for us now.

EDIT: Stoke equalise again, and Chelsea score again straight after, so back in front, 3-2.

Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Can, Lallana, Mane, Firmino

Subs: Karius, Moreno, Lucas, Alexander-Arnold, Ejaria, Origi, Sturridge

I'll go for a 3-2 epic with a late winner for us Redmen

This game seems to be dragging since we've gone a goal up. Not even half an hour gone yet/Twitchy bum time unless we get another couple

Klopp's has masterminded that first half superbly. Man City didn't have a sniff at goal, fantastic stuff.

Lucas on for what could be his final Anfield appearance as a sub for Mane.

Please don't give away any of your trademark free kicks outside our box one last time Lucas

4mins of injury time well underway.
