Sky Sports presenter making out like Carragher will be "furious" and how hard done by and regretful Liverpool will be. I certainly feel lucky and relieved with a point after that second half!

On reflection, a draw is a fair result. We dominated the 1st half, they the 2nd. Rodgers' first sub didn't work at all (Ibe for Firmino), and when that failed to turn the game our way, we settled for the draw. Rossiter failing to make an impact only put more pressure on us, but a few brilliant last ditch tackles from Skrtel and a few very good saves from Mignolet, including that absolute worldy of a save vs. Giroud were enough.
I can't complain. A game we could easily have lost. Another clean sheet is definitely welcome, and I'm a lot more optimistic about the season ahead after that 1st half performance. Once Coutinho, Benteke and Firmino start clicking, I think they'll be a front 3 to be reckoned with. Hopefully we can throw a fully fit Sturridge in there at some point and really start banging in the goals. |

Ibe was shocking when he came on.
Gave the ball away and didn't help Clyne at all. Was marking space!! |

LOL at the lunatic callers from both sides on 606.One for Arsenal calling for Wenger to go and one for us calling Benteke a 'bull in a china shop'.
I feel Benteke has improved with each game of the PL season so far.Very good workrate that our previous two big men up front (Balotelli & Carroll) could only dream of. Got a feeling he might have a field day on goal against Norwich at home this weekend. |

Good result in the end and a much more positive performance than the first two games. We lack options up front once the starting players tire but three clean sheets, two away from home is good. I'm feeling a touch happier and positive about the season ahead. Important we get three points next time out and go into the int. break undefeated and looking forward to the Utd game.

Good performance, very well earned point - contrary to the posts by several of the usual grouches on here.

Also, a shout out to Emre Can tonight. Not my MOTM, but I thought he was superb.
In fact, there wasn't a bad player out there who started the game. I see no reason not to stick with this XI, although I suspect we'll see Henderson come in for Lucas against West Ham. |

I agree though, can feel a Benteke hattrick coming on! |

I would never have thought this would be a 0-0 game. I have to be happy with a point away at Arsenal, but after those chances in the first half there is a feeling of ' if only' . However, still our best football for quite a while, so something to build on.
Apologies to Gomez and Lovren from me. I've been worried all last week that they might be our weak points tonight. Both players played well and put in perfectly fine performances. I'm sure Gomez's passing and ball distribution will improve as he gets older and more experienced. After three games and no goals conceded, it looks like Sakho will have to wait a bit longer to get into the side. Finally, and not wanting to be too critical, I'm not sure about BR's subs tonight. Bringing off Lucas for a young absolute rookie when we're starting to cling on against an improving Arsenal was a bit of a risk. We got away with it, but tonight proves we can't really afford to lose Lucas without replacing him. |

Joe Gomez, wow. I was in awe for the whole game at how he and Clyne defended. It feels so good to have full backs that can actually defend. Lucas was excellent too, and it helps Lovren and Skrtel so much to have all this protection around them. We've got 5 more very tough away games to come, but we've done well in our first two. We'll just have to make sure we keep winning our home games to keep us in the hunt once the away trips get a little easier. |

People seem to think Lucas was waving goodbye when he walked off but I'm sure Coutinho gave the fans a wave when he went off as well and I don't think he's going anywhere. I also don't think Lucas would have started today if he was going to be sold |

Vast improvement from last week and away from home too. The attitude was much better. Hate to say it but Milne is excellent as captain - fantastic attitude.
Gomes is going to get better. Lots of players deserve praise. Looking forward to the next game. |

A good point overall, however our second half performance was frustrating. Why didn't we press higher up the pitch in the second half, 3 of their back 4 were giving the ball away regularly. I think we let them off the hook last night.
Our substitutions were poor as well, why bring on an 18 year old in this type of game? I hope Lucas does stay, he was excellent in the 1st half along with Milner and Can. Benteke, Coutinho and Firmino all played well, but for Cech's heroics we'd have gone in at half time ahead. |

One thing from last night that stands out for me, is my normal selection of who was our man of the match, and who the was the worst player was not cut and dried. I still can't come up with positive names, and I see Sky Sports has them all as 7's or 8's - good ratings frankly. Shows they played as a team and not as individuals, and that in itself is gold! Sure, maybe Firmino was the least influential player, but, he's still finding his feet with us, so in context did very well.
