Man U could be one point off us if they beat us, many fans were taking the piss not long ago.

And yet, they'll still be behind us. Stop thinking so pessimistically, it's no way to enjoy life.

As a football viewer i am a bit tunnel visioned in that I watch LFC every game analysing it intensely but regarding other teams I have less interest and often miss their matches so I am no big expert on the form of other teams or their strengths and weaknesses. Today tho I watched the whole of the MU game - and was not impressed - and yet this is the team apparently that Bats has been telling us are playing the best football in the league ..etc. They were very lucky today and their run of 6 wins has not really included the big boys altho yes I know they have beaten TH 1-0. We have scored 4 or more 5 or 6 times this season, they have just once.
However on their ground with their confidence higher for us to win on Jan 15th will be an achievement. At the start we will have to quieten their crowd as that will be intensely against us for sure. I know people may say we have to win or we will fall too far behind CFC but for me the truth is we will not win every game till the end of the season and away at OT is one where to drop a point would be acceptable. What will determine whether we can sustain our challenge is winning almost all the games V the lesser teams - no more Burnleys or Bournemouths!! - and when we play CFC we definitely have to win and claw back 3 points then Dropping a point today was a disappointment but these things happen - the result between TH and CFC will be one of the things which determine how vital it was. I think we missed Hendo and with our style a game 48 hours after our previous one was always going to be a big ask. Sunderland at times this season have been shocking - V Burnley on Saturday for instance but today seemed a bit better - typical of our luck!! At least we have a bit of a break now |

10 points out of a possible 12 from the four xmas period fixtures is a good return. So frustrating not to get 12 but if Spurs can do the business and leave Chelsea with only 9 from their 4 games I'll be happier.
It's a great season,so far, but lets not forget we are hovering in 2nd place and after the last 2 seasons that's a great place to be. Finishing 2nd with no realistic chance of being champions would still be a hell of a first full season under Jurgen. |

I've seen too many Liverpool united matches to be so bullish. They have a nasty habit of pulling something out of the bag even when we go into these matches as the form team.
The only one of these derbies I ever felt supremely confident with was the Moyes one at OT because I knew they were clueless that season and we were on fire with Suarez. ![]() We're due a bit of luck against them in the PL to. Earlier this season was the first league point against them for a few years. |

Now Mane's off and Sturridge is probably crocked again. Onto Plymouth in the FA Cup next Sunday. Should be a totally different side out for that game. |

Strurridge is like a bloody Tampon.
Seems Studge and Milner are OK, just took knocks. Whatever, I do hope we hang onto Lucas for the time being, if we use the youngsters for cup runs, he plays well with them. In fact, so does Sakho, but I reckon he'll be gone, shame, he showed promise at one point. |

The "Sturridge is made out of glass jokes" are always super hilarious, but I feel like we can give him a break on this one. Djliabodji did kind of bulldoze right through him, I'm sure most players would have limped off if they had been on the receiving end of that one.

I'm not surprised Lucas is being linked with a move away again as he seems to have been close to the exit door for the last three windows. I would have thought it might be worth him waiting until the summer though; when he could have a wider choice of clubs. If he does go, even if on loan, I wonder if he'll be replaced or if Stewart will be promoted up the pecking order?
I've noticed, in among a plethora of wingers, over the last couple of weeks, we've been mentioned looking at Seb Rudy from Hoffenheim. Interesting one, a player almost an exact carbon copy of Lucas, and the type of player I think worth having in the squad ( remember I was all for us getting Gueye during the summer ) Sakho should really find a club this window, its obvious he's now persona non-grata in the squad. Will he even get a game over the weekend? Is Gomez fit enough for a run out? All in all, I can see this being a relatively quiet window for us. Maybe do what we did last year ( with Matip ) and find a player about to go into free agency for the summer |

What a comeback from Arsenal, from 3 down to 3-2, last 15mins.
3-3, what a comeback, 6 mins added time, come on, stay a draw. FT 3-3, Arsenal 4pts behind us, that'll do

Honestly, if Chelsea win tonight, I'm not really gonna be too despondent. I feel like a title win is just a bit beyond us at the moment (not by much though), and I feel like Spurs coming away with 0 points would benefit us much more in the long run.
Draw is still the ideal result mind, but I really don't want Spurs winning tonight. |

Every result tonight has its merits but I'd like a draw most, a Spurs win next and a Chelsea win last.

![]() On the pessimistic side, Spurs and City both play before us on our next PL weekend. If they both win then we'll be 4th by the time we kick off against Utd ![]() Presuming Spurs don't mess up this one from 2-0 up
