Evil Kagawa (on FB) yesterday:

Mr. Sanchez forward text-a-message to Kagawa. He say,

Last 4 games:

Arsenal : LWDW
Mufc : WWDL
Chelsea : ROFL
😂😂😂😂😂

Kagawa reply-a-make. I say, "Congratulations Mr. Sanchez, you finally able get out pocket of Gomez."

Son of bitch no reply back. I think, Kagawa wipe smile of cocky bastard face. This what kagawa do!
I've missed that guy.

(The smileys are meant to be that stupid crying with laughter emoji)

Can't say I'm sorry that Markovic has gone to Fenerbahce on loan for the season.

Too timid - has the pace and power to beat people but so rarely used it.

Good, one problem less to worry about, £10m isn't bad either, but, the lad can play, and did well with Sunderland when on loan there.
If he's ever played for a sustained period up front rather than wise, he'll do a decent job. He wasn't helped by knee injuries earlier in his career as he was a top prospect. Good luck to him at Sunderland. Surprised we got £10m - how long did his contract have ti run? Did we give him a new deal as I thought he was soon to be a free agent?

too many times he would take the easy option and pass instead of trying to beat a man.

hopefully he does well in turkey and builds up some confidence.

His contract was to 2017, and we have got 'up to' £10m, apparently. I hope he does well for them, and moreso for himself, he's been in limbo since coming to us.

Reckon we should unleash Origi's pace against United to keep their high line busy and perhaps feed off Benteke. We nerd to do something different given Coutinho's absence.

I'd even consider throwing in Dunn or Kent rather than Ibe if Rodgers doesn't go with two up top. Can't see us creating much otherwise unless Firmino quickly finds his Premier League feet. I'd go 3-5-2 personally.

Soon enough Man Utd fans dreams of seeing David De Gea, Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the same team will come true.
I laughed.

Sorry, United fans.

Enrique looking closer to a deal with West Brom; Liverpool taking a nominal fee.

And with Ryan McLaughlin off on loan to Aberdeen yesterday, Yesil probably heading to Switzerland, that just leave me wondering about Ilori, and there are rumours that Sunderland might take him on loan. I don't know what playing in that defence would do for him, but it'd be interesting to see him get more exposure to English football to find out what he's made of.

I don't know why we bother with any of these youngsters, as far as I can remember, hardly any have made the breakthrough to the 1st team. Only Sterling and maybe Ibe have been successful, the rest have either not been played or have been average. We might as well save the money and buy proven players.

Same for most clubs isnt it?

I will be disappointed if Llori goes on loan. I just dont see why another loan. The kid deserves better.

If they dont want him why bring him back and give him a squad number.

It may be the case that it is the same for most clubs, but if its not working then why continue? I can't recall the amount of times we sign a youngster or is mentioned in the reserves that is then even given a chance. One of Rafa's supposed legacy was the youth system he left in place for us, but I've yet to see a regular starter for us from there.

Well you cant just abandon a youth system or give up on it. The sterling deal alone justifies it's existince.

If they are good enough they will make it at Liverpool or somewhere else.

I think an interesting stat would be how many that are let go then go on to make it elsewhere @ the top level.

Has there been any gems that one could say the club made a mistake in allowing them to leave?

That's true, I think we need to change the way it operates then. I can't think of any player that has gone onto become a gem, maybe other forum members might think of a few.

I thought Ince would've be one we would live to regret, but he's sort of fizzled out the limelight and settled into averageness. Still, if we'd have given him a few first-team starts we could have returned some decent money in a transfer fee.

Yeah Ince looked very good in the championship but never managed to make it when he went higher.

Its inievtable that one or two will slip through but by large those who are good enough should make it @ Liverpool.

Even Suso looked okay at times, but was never really given the chance.

With deadline day today thought would have a guess at the overall picture this summer:

In

Ings - free (fee set in Jan)
Milner - free (sign on fee split over wages)
Bogan - free
Gomez - £3.5m
Firmino - £21m (+£8m)
Clyne - £10.5m (+£2m)
Benteke - £32.5m (although I imagine it may be something like £27.5m + £5m)

Total - £67.5m

Out

Assaidi - £4m
Aspas - £4.5m
Coates - £2m
Alberto - nominal loan fee
Sterling - £44m (+£5m, -£8.8m sell on clause)
Lambert - £3m
Wisdom - £1.25m (loan fee)
Balo - free (no loan fee)
Markovic - £1m (loan fee - this is a total guess as seen no figures mentioned, it could well be nothing given they are supposedly paying all of his wages)
Borini - £8m (+£2m)

Total - £58.95m

Total Net Spend - £8.55m

Potential Sales

Enrique - £2m

Total - £2m

Not bad business at all. Ings could see an exta say £7 mil on the money going out but still net spend wont hit £20 mil.

What worries me is if Benteke is a flop or gets a serious injury we are extremely weak up front and midfield lacks pace.
Sturridge is an unknown at this time and can't be relied on.

What worries me is if Benteke continues to be isolated with little support, We cannot afford to right off another 32.5m we used to play in a way where the striker was fed the ball with players breaking from midfield and joining the attack, But in recent times there's little forward pressing and little end product, We just do not play from back to front as we need to, There's only so long we can blame the pawns when the system is flawed.

That is my major gripe with us. For some reason we press high up the pitch in certain games and not in other games, we should be doing it in every game. The higher up the pitch you win the ball back, the better the chance of scoring.
