He's a good lad, and a decent winger, should do well for you. Went on the Summer tour with the squad and played well.

C/P from LFC website:

Oldham-born Ryan joined Liverpool at the age of seven and is a regular member of the U21 squad.
A dynamic winger who can play on the left or right side, Kent loves to take on defenders and cause endless problems for the opposition.
After an impressive 2014-15 campaign his performances were rewarded with a call-up to the first-team squad for their 2015 pre-season tour of Bangkok, Brisbane, Adelaide and Malaysia.
He was handed a chance to impress, too, when he made an appearance off the bench during the match with Brisbane Roar.
To further build up senior experience, Kent then joined Coventry City in September 2015 on a youth loan deal for four months.

Wow, thought he may get some League Cup and sub appearances for us soon - he's very promising indeed. He should be a hit for Cov if he's not overwhelmed - seems level headed too.

Andy Carroll is £8.2m on Mondogoal. HOW?!?!

Glen Johnson is also £8.2m but at least he somehow gets some points. Not £8.2m worth of points, though.

Feel sorry for whoever pays £11.0m for Coutinho, though.

Any of you do Mondogoal? If not, it's a Fantasy Football thing, but for specific set of games, and you can play for money. It's quite fun. There's a contest every week, £2 entry, first place pays out £2k. You can at least get your money back if you don't finish too low, maybe even earn yourself a quid. Don't underestimate the feeling of winning £3 after spending £2.

https://secure.mondogoal.com/contests

Sign-up is free. Keep checking up every week, there are contests for all sorts of games, including in Europe, MLS, international games and whatever else. I don't do it during internationals qualifiers or friendlies, (especially friendlies, or friendlies in general).

Liverpool fans will be angry reading this - I know I am.

Someone, somewhere in the bowels of Anfield needs to own up, can't wait for the real truth to come out, would love it to be in 'the book'!

yeah i have seen some of training videos with coventry already and damn his finishing looks sublime, has pace too.

considering the way cov are playing right now he should have some fun!

he will play in middle for us i think though,as a number 10. he said he loves to play there so i am sure he is capable.

Thank BR for that, he is ruining Liverpool FC and I'm actually sick of the sight of his smug face.

Stevie is still way better than what we have in midfield.

Seems like Lovren's keeping his place tomorrow.

Sakho must've bought Brendan the wrong toothpaste or something.

It's the sort of game that I think Lovren may struggle in. We could do with Sakho's passing ability too.

I just hope for an improved performance from the team. I'd settle for a draw tomorrow.

Ability, vision - yes. Mobility, stamina - no. There is no way he was capable of running a game any more and opponents ran off him for fun. He was very poor last season and it was time for him to wind down - would have kept him for the odd 30-45 minutes here and there plus experience.

As for your BR comments, your agenda is clear. Were you as vitriolic towards Kenny when we were playing poorly and buying average players? Some of the anti Rodgers stuff is extreme to be honest. Certainly deserves criticism but some fans are giving him zero slack.

The Old Trafford game is one I can't bear watching for some reason, despite some very decent results there. The 4-1 and 3-0 wins coincided with me missing each game and I'm off with the folks tomorrow so may miss it again - hopefully a good charm but our lack of creativity without Coutinho makes that something of a forlorn hope - and I'm usually overly optimistic by nature...

Did you read that link posted earlier on the page, Stevie wanted to be coach who better to help the youngsters.

I still believe Gerrard should be in the middle as captain right now,

So what odds do you guys make it that David De Gea starts the game tomorrow and then proceeds to make a string of world class saves? It's gonna be on the cards, isn't it...?

I don't think BR was the nay-sayer on Gerrard frankly. Gerrard always talks of him in glowing terms, yet does seem to be bitter about not being able to stay at LFC as he wished. No, someone else pulled the plug on him - maybe the owners?

Do you really think he'd have been on the same salary as the rest of the coaching staff though? I think not. It's idealistic and the owners are business people who are looking for profits rather than prophets.

I'm not - rusty de Gea drops a clanger has a good chance too - here's hoping at least.

It's easy enough for Gerrard to say this now. The truth is he clearly wasn't happy with a diminished playing role full stop and the last thing we need is a player on the decline moping around in a coaching role. All he would be was a distraction for everyone. I hope one day when he retires and has gained some coaching experience he comes back and maybe, if he proves good enough, he'll become the manager but for now a complete change was the correct course.

dude, time and time again stevie says good things about BR but people just ignore it and still have this theory that BR and SG had a bust up and thats why stevie left.

its pretty clear that SG is huge fan of BR and vice versa. people forget that SG was offered a new deal. SG just didnt want to be a bench warmer. That doesnt mean him and BR didnt get on. Stevie just wanted to play more.

as for the coaching role he possibly wanted. I am not sure its the right time for SG, I can see why the club didnt offer him that role at the moment.

I'm in two minds about that Gerrard story. On one hand his experience would have been beneficial for the younger players but on the other hand I think it was best for both Stevie and Liverpool that a clean break was made.

There would probably even be some calling for him to be manger if he was sat on the bench as a coach after a few dodgy results

Aye well, we will all have our own views on Gerrard, Rodgers etc, but let's get down to the nitty gritty of today.

Who will play, who will get a red card (giving them out like beers at a party this season), and who will win?

Still not sure if Hendo, Lallana are fit to play, under wraps just now, but if they are playing Fellaini, then we need some real tough defenders.

Bring it on!!

Rooney is apparently doubtful for United. Not sure if that is good or bad for us though

Bad if they are playing Fellaini instead, Rooney is well off form just now, and Fellaini is a monster when in the right frame of mind. See the Blue minnows are doing well, let's hope us Red minnows follow suit!

Alternatively, Fellaini could just as well pick up a yellow card or two with those straying elbows.

I'm still getting a hint of gamesmanship from both camps and we'll see Rooney and even Sturridge getting game time this evening.
