Don't get me wrong, I quite like Joe Allen. I was using him to make the point that we know he definitely is a Rodgers signing and we can contrast the loyalty shown to him even with his many many injuries, to the complete abandonment of loyalty to some others.

Oh and remember Balotelli?? One day Rodgers categorically denies wanting him. The next week he has signed. Now Rodgers isn't in the business of making himself look daft. There is no way he wanted Balotelli.

All of this shows FSG already have him on a tight leash. It isn't a stretch that they can get rid of him.

Get Klopp in who has an absolutely defined way of playing which has bore out fruits in trophies, who has experience of working under a Director of Football and Committee, who plays football which suits the Premier League and finally, a manager with a name who will attract and motivate players.

Who says Klopp will do any better than Rodgers anyway? I'm certainly not convinced. Plus I'm not having all this rubbish about Suarez and that it was all him. We had Suarez for 2 seasons prior to 13/14. I remember fans on here saying he wasn't a natural finisher for ages! Rodgers allowed that team to play like it did and that's the only thing I agree with in the comments above. Rodgers needs to go back to that attacking style. Back himself, forget the defensive nonsense to appease the boring fans who say they like clean sheets. I'd rather lose giving it a go than keep it tight and still losing.

I've also got to take Jorge Gomez comments. Fans were singing his praises 3 games ago! More changing of opinion like the wind!

And I have to take issue with Gomez. People were praising him rightly of course when he played well. But 2 weeks ago when he was given the runaround against West Ham, people were then saying "ok, it's time to take the kid out of the firing line and let him have a breather". Not, "throw him into the lions den again at OT".

Now he gave away a penalty today. Time to stop ruining the kid. Either play him at CB or rotate him into LB in games we are winning, having started with our actual £12 million quid LB Moreno.

Two poor sides (relative to former glories). Ironically, the two biggest successes in terms of buys in Rodgers' reign were both missing when he needed them most. I'm beginning to despair but I still won't join the Rodgers Out gang until we get those two (Coutinho and Sturridge) back playing and Henderson back too. Yes, the manager is making some baffling selections and substitutions and appears to have become too cautious (or the players have due to lack of confidence) but I really want to see where we are at Christmas before I admit defeat - by then, the best XI would have had (hopefully) enough games to demonstrate whether BR has enough left to show any vision he may have.

Never easy to lose to United, but to lose to a dysfunctional United side is painful - one of their better vintages would have completely murdered us. We need pace, positivity, creativity and some balance (in midfield). The returning players may add a lot of that but the danger is that irreversible damage will be done before that happens.

City are going to win this league at an absolute canter at this rate. The rest are all very volatile (at best).

Oh come on, they are shocking (relative to how they have played in the past and their outlay on players). The first half they were there for the taking. In a week or two, United will play some relegation rubbish in which Van Gaal will do a Louis Swansea special and have them playing keepball for 80 minutes in front of the opposition back four before they are robbed and beaten and suddenly they all want him out again.

Getting duffed by this United in such a lame, weak and meek way is a damning criticism on Rodger's current thinking.

Especially since he didn't make that noise for Benteke's goal which is probably the best goal there has ever been in that fixture.

Are you kidding? Gary Neville has been slating this United side every week on Sky, rightly so.

He's got to pull something out of the bag with the next few games I feel. We all knew what a tough start to the season we had, and we've had 3 good results followed by 2 poor ones.

We've now got Norwich and Villa at home in the league along with 3 winnable cup games before the Merseyside derby. It's a chance to build a bit of momentum and get some confidence in the side. Get a few W's on the board and the picture could look a little brighter come October.

No, i'm not kidding. I think you'll find most of the negative things Neville has mentioned was regarding off field things. In fact, both Carragher and Neville have stated that this United side is 'solid'.

One of the best records against the top 4/5, best defence over last ten months, 4th/3rd best attack/defence last season, 2nd best defence so far this season. The stats dont quite support the 'dysfunctional' and 'shocking' claims.

From a technical point of view we miss the likes of Sakho, Henderson, Coutinho and the movement of Sturridge. In a big game, it really showed.
I think Benteke does ok, he wins more than his fair share of balls, but there's rarely someone close enough to help him and take advantage. Ings spent so much of the game so far out of position it was a waste of time having him on the pitch ( i.e. the first half) might as well have played Moreno there.

Most worrying though is the continued lack of energy, enthusiasm and commitment to get stuck into the game. The lack of a Gerrard or a Carra figurehead player seems quite apparent. I don't like it and I hope something can be done about it... and soon, preferably before the Everton game.

We seem to miss Henderson badly when he's not in the side. Today there didn't seem to be anyone in midfield capable of playing a killer pass. Benteke made some good runs but he wasn't getting picked out. Hendo's usually got his head up looking for those sort of opportunities.

I'm having doubts as to whether Milner can really produce the goods playing in the middle. Going forward, I'd be tempted to play Can and Hendo in front of Lucas or Allen when we play a midfield 3.

I'm not saying we're not even worse - that was point. But this is not even close to usual cavalier, fearless, authoritative side of the Ferguson years, which makes it even more gauling that we've regressed even more dramatically (temporarily or otherwise) - why do some United fans have a zero criticism policy - don't you read your own thread - or is it just because it's from non United fans? The limited number of shots alone you're getting at goal is clearly a sign of dysfunction and must be a concern should you progress to the latter stages of the CL. It would be easy to deploy the "lack of a figurehead" excuse, if last season with Stevie hadn't also been a monumental **** up and Rodger's first season with Carra and Stevie was also not exactly vintage.

Common theme is Rodgers. Frankly I'm less of a believe in sentimentality. City have class players in an attacking system and therefore they get class results.

When we played in a class style with class players in 2013/14, we got class results. Nothing to do with figureheads or passion, just stop buying 7 pieces of scrap, buy 2 class players, find a class system and the class results will come back.

The thing that will rightly do for Rodgers is money. The loss of Suarez is obviously massive and it did beg the question "are Liverpool a one man team?". It was Rodgers job to reinvest and prove that they weren't. So far he has completely failed to do this.

He brought in a LOT of players last summer and it didn't go well. He did the same this summer and it hasn't started well. I feel its this lack of progress for the level of investment that will be his undoing in the eyes of the owners.

The feel on the official forums are near enough to facebook in wanting Rodgers out which I'm happy about.

Louis can get Man United to play like they did under SAF, but his own core philosophy gets in the way of him doing so on a consistent basis.

Rodgers needs to accept several truths. The first being Lovren. Lovren is never going to be full back we want him to be. Sakho has to brought back to remedy the situation.
The other glaring problem is the lack of pace in our midfield. Milner and Can are pedestrian. And with Ibe a shadow of the player he was last season I think it's time changes were made.
It doesn't help to have Coutinho and Henderson out, but dropping Milner and Can has to be a start. I would rather we went with Allen and Firmino to see if our passing game returns. This is how we won games in the past and it's this feature of our play that has been sorely lacking this term.

Well hopefully FSG will not care what social media thinks and give him the season.

Does anyone think we may loose Coutinho next Summer. I can see a big team coming in for him.
