What's liverpools attitude to the Europa league this season.

I am assuming it's hope they can get through the group stages with weaker sides and not overly fussed if they dont

I know you enjoy English sides failing in Europe so that you can criticise their approach but in our case we're in terrible form, and we barely turned up against United, so we aren't playing so well at the moment. I'd like to think we'd take the Europa League seriously, though we are playing some lesser players, and will probably in other games, but if we fail I don't think it'd be through "typical English attitude towards the Europa League".

Actually I don't like to see them fail but I agree I am maybe heavily critical to clubs stance on it. it's an open door to the champions league although it's a long tournament I agree.

Two much for us to get a clean sheet at the moment. Our defence stood still.

Was just about to post how a win tonight and in the next two EL games, both at home would be a great squad boost

dont think we played to bad today. Look at the team thats on the pitch and cant say it was a bad performance.

nice to see us actually trying to pass through teams instead of more often going direct like we have been recently.

please play sakho on the weekend BR.

Sakho really has to play at the weekend now. Didn't put a foot wrong. Won every header, read the game superbly, brought it out of defence well and looked like a leader. Not that I expect him to keep his place though.

Disappointed that we conceded that goal to be honest. Crivelli touched that ball SIX time whilst he was juggling in our penalty area. We have to be dispossessing him in those situations, especially when it looked like he wasn't in complete control.

Disappointed we couldn't hold onto the lead as getting points on the board early if how to handle the EL. However, a point away from home, against a decent team, with quite an inexperienced side is a decent result.

Sakho and Moreno should both start at the weekend.

Sakho did well. Ibe again for me looked poor. One on one he must do more.

Seeing as most were kids and benchers, I think they did OK. Can't knock them at all in all honesty, at least they were trying, and was pretty impressed with Lallana and Ings, Sakho has earnt his place too, he led well. I am sure we can get them back at Anfield - as being said, it's given a few players massive experience.

Agree. Orugi needs to learn how best to use his best attributes, though - too casual and needs to make runs for people if he's up there on his own. BPedro Chirivella looked promising and Rossiter was tidy. Sakho was Sakho - and that's a good thing. Lallana's goal should go some way to show the critics he is a very decent first team squad player and not the low grade buy some paint him to be. Ings also displayed his underrated technical ability during his run-out. Ibe was poor again - he nerds to assert himself and beat defenders rather than stop and pass or he'll surely rightly lose his place.

technically lallana has it all. loads of ability!

just needs to be more consistent. needs to help coutinho more with unlocking defences.

Ibe's form is a real indicator of how big the gap is between championship and top level football.

I thought some players close control was poor tonight. Sakho was pinning passes into feet only for the receiver to miss control the ball.

If only that were possible, the last time we faced the budgies they gave us a run for our money, but thankfully we won 3-2. Just hope that the result goes our way at the weekend.

More rubbish. We are horrible to watch. When was the last time we scored more than 1 goal? And we struggle to even get 1 goal. Unless something is done these crappy performances will continue and with Rodgers in charge they will continue. I hope we get beat on Sunday may be the board will start to take notice.

Hoping the team lose. That's embarrassing.

The performance wasn't that badly. Lots of young players never played together before did decent away from home.

I was joking to my brother last night about hoping we lose so BR was sacked but he knew I was joking.

I could never find myself hoping Liverpool lose for any reason, regardless of whether you're unhappy with the manager or not you should never stop supporting the club.

Even under Hodgson during the last few weeks, I didn't want us to lose. Regardless of how desperate you are to see a change of staff, wishing for the team to lose is disgraceful.

Agreed. I would love it if Rodgers turned things around. I'm just not very confident of it happening..

I think I'd like to see how Lovren & Sakho together do in defence this weekend. Skrtel has been getting very wayward lately, but I honestly think Lovren could be very capable, and Sakho with him could make the difference.

Ibe needs to be dropped from the first team/bench for now, Moreno far outshone him, but his long balls need a bit of work. As for Rossiter, yes, well impressed, he should by rights take over from Lucas - who is making too many errors lately. Origi should have gone on loan to a bottom half PL/CL team for more experience, but was impressed with Ings coming on.

We really do have to get back to 2 up front, it's how we did so well with SAS, let the defence just do their thing, and throw more forward - attack is the best form of defence etc.

IF BR doesn't pull any of the better ones from last night into v Norwich, I will be annoyed. We have Carlisle at home too next week, and they have some very decent goal scorers just now, we need decent players v them, I know, they are my 'home' team!

The problem with Lovren and Sakho is Lovren is shaky on the left side as it is, move him to right CB and I think its an accident waiting to happen.

I would go with Gomez and Sakho.
