We're not top 4 quality, obviously. But we should be a close 5th and right now we're a very long way from that.

I was reading yesterday that the PL is in danger of losing it's 4th CL place to Italy. With only 2 clubs in the EL the teams in the CL have to do as well as those from Serie A to ward off falling to 4th in the UEFA coeficient table. That would have a huge impact on the top clubs and make the likelihood of us qualifying that much harder.

I can't believe what Rodgers has come out and said is it true?

We have turned a full circle and are back at square one where we were three years ago, amazing statement needs to go.

Not sure it will happen.. I read that the English CL teams need to get knocked out no further then last 16 and an itialian team needs to reach the final.

If it did happen then yeah getting in the top 3 would be a huge ask for any manager.

Why can't I find any news about this statement?

Where and when was this made. What is your source?

Exactly, we peaked with Suarez and now we are exactly back to the start with an even weaker side than we had then.

I can't help but wonder if this is some ploy by FSG, Sell any big names we have, get us out of the top 4, they are probably happy with us being a mid table club, saves wages. Being a top 4 side means major investment, they wont pay out for that, they are probably over the moon with Rodgers performance this season.

Are we talking about the Norwich after match quote about "rebuilding the squad"?

Judge him after another three years, Then he comes out with that in year four!

Not much, one of the lads at wok on his phone and a few on the Liverpool FB page.

Like I say could be nothing it's just what I am hearing.

Liverpool XI vs. Carlisle: Bogdan, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Can, Milner, Allen, Lallana, Firmino, Ings.

Substitutes: Fulton, Coutinho, Gomez, Origi, Brannagan, Ibe, Rossiter.

Not very confidence building imo. Still one striker - why?

I was hoping Sturridge played but will be good to see Firmino at #10

Glad to see Joe Allen is back. We miss his ability to recycle possession.

Basically a repeat of last season, then? I agree its not actually a possibility this season but they way we've been performing in the CL over the last few years I won't be surprised if it happens eventually.

Despite no show from Sturridge, I actually think that's quite a serious team for the 3rd round of the LC against a lower league side.

I think with bordeoux playing the kids was fine as we could afford to lose.

First thing that needs sorting is remove Milner from the middle and from taking corners £150k a week and shite in return, Typical of a free transfer for us.
