Suarez wanted to leave too and actually went on strike before the title challenge season. Would you have told him to **** off too?
Speaking for the poster here, but there was no inclination to include Suarez in his assessment, he was purely making a point that clubs shouldn't have the law laid down to them by players who think they're far better than what they are (i.e. Sterling). As we are all well aware, Suarez was on an entirely different planet to Sterling when it comes to ability. |

If you read his the full paragraph first, you'll notice he said "...hate seeing big clubs almost grovel to players who actually aren't that great anyway."

Personally I hope Sterling goes on to be a mammoth player and shoves it back down people's throats. I stand by my original opinion that he's been treated poorly and been unloved by the club to a certain degree. Btw the poster included DeGea in his assessment. I would argue DeGea is Uniteds best player and been unbelievable this season. So again mixed messages here. |

Don't you think it's all a bit hypocritical though? Suarez dragged the club through the mud on multiple occasions but because he's a cracking player people turned a blind eye. To be fair he did a lot of it before he really became amazing for the club too.

First thing he needs to do when his future is settled is to ditch his agent.Contrary to popular belief, there are some agents out there who do still treat the players they represent with grace and how they report a transfer situation to the media. |

I'm liking the rumours linking us with Marc Bartra as he's another fine ball playing CB that'd suit our game very well; him and Sakho spraying balls all over the park! I'm not going to get my hopes up though, as due to his bargain release fee there's about a dozen top clubs linked with him.
If we can't have him then I'd take Benedict Howedes from Schalke, a very solid, very versatile defender. In fact I'd have both of these guys if I could get my way. Time for a new defence. I'm not liking the continuing Tevez rumours quite so much. He's a great player when he wants to be, but I always get the feeling there's a drama brewing with him. As I struggle to accept that FSG would be ok with spending £15m on a 31 year old, it's another rumour to be taken very lightly. |

Yes but we can put Tevez dramas down to being stuck in dreary Manchester. He'll feel right at home in tropical Liverpool. They don't tax you for smiling on Merseyside.

I appreciate that you go the extra mile with players like him because of course he is so important to the team but truth be told once a player makes it clear that he wants to go then the reality is it becomes about getting the best price possible. It extremely rare than a transfer doesn’t happen in the end regardless of the protestations and posturing of the “selling” club. In these situations I think big clubs should just say “X wants to leave the club, if X doesn’t want to play for us then we will not keep anyone against their will. X is now for sale and the bidding starts at £X, if this price is not met then he will have to stay, if this price is met then he can go” Acting like a jilted lover begging for a second chance lacks dignity and as I said its not something I like seeing in truth. Many clubs do it but very few are winners in the end. |

More agent gum flapping to the press...It was fascinating when everything (thankfully) went quiet about Sterling for about a week recently. Presumably that was at the point when his agent knew City were actually preparing a bid. As soon as Liverpool knocked back that bid all of a sudden the stories about Utd, Real Madrid, etc, etc... taking an interest came back into force. i.e. the agent is trying to persuade City to put in a higher bid lest others gazump them! Yawn. |

Reports from Italy say Kovacic is on. They are saying fee agreed even though Inter keep saying his not going.

Mike Bernard on twitter says lfc met with Kovacic agent 15 June. Says there is little gap in what the player wants and what lfc want to pay him but deal nearly done. No announcement prior to July 1st if a deal is done. Fee agreed with Inter.
Also says Benteke valuation too high and alternatives are being looked at. Not dependent on selling sterling. |

Stoke away on the 8th of August...well at least it gets that fixture out the way early.

We have to play the sides some time. First 7 away games are tough but looking forward to it.

Stoke, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The fixture software couldn't of brought up a more difficult run of away games. |

Hope we get our main signings out the way early. Wouldn't want to face Arsenal away with an incomplete squad, and with the manager's mind potentially elsewhere. But then that game could inspire us to do something in the transfer market, and preferably not selling Skrtel for an own-goal. ![]() United away is a tough first fixture for any deadline-day signings, but it's currently the 12th of September so they'll have a brief settling in period. |

A trip to the dentist is more fun than playing Stoke away. |

City have apparently made a final offer of £35.5 million with another £5 million in add ons for Sterling, should you be accepting that or not?

It's not quite as bad without Pulis there, though. West Ham away is another fixture I hate. Similarly it might not be so bad without Big Sam there.

I don't think that will be accepted. City have jumped £10 mil in a week and I think we will try and squeeze more from them. City want this done quickly.
