Just noticed the ridiculous transfer committee has been retained. Disappointed by that.

Shame Klopp can't do as he pleases, but I'm sure he will get most of his way though.

You should watch the short video of Klopp holding a pen ready to sign, even that will make you smile and he doesn't even say anything

So he pretty much had nothing to do with the good that happened but everything to do with all the failures? Good things = Suárez and luck, bad things = Brendan Rodgers
I'm not saying he would've worked out in the end or anything but it's unfair to not give him any credit for any positives while allowing him to take the blame for all the failures. Quote:
We were going nowhere under dalglish. The football wasn't great and the club became a PR nightmare. I would take a hell of a ride finishing 2nd and genuinely being in a title race than a poor boring league campaign and winning the carling cup all day.
ironically 2013/2014 was the most entertaining Liverpool side since Dalglish's 87/88 side. Just take it in that Jurgen Klopp is the new manager of LFC - how good is that!! I will be tuned it at 10 tomorrow that's for sure to hear his first press conference Quote:
I'd liked this one:
Glad its confirmed now, always fear something will go wrong until its confirmed. welcome to Liverpool Klopp! ![]() 1, 2 3 o'clock 4 o'clock Klopp 5, 6 , 7 o'clock 8 o'clock Klopp 9, 10, 11 o'clcck 12 o'clock Klopp We going to klopp around the Kop tonight was another one I saw which I liked. |

Do not most clubs have something similar to a transfer committee?
The TC becomes a problem when there is no clear vision or methodology being put in place which all those involved including the manager agree on. FSG have to fix this as it's all them with what was happening between committee and Rodgers. I'm not sure why the media tried to assassinate the analytical guy. Nothing wrong with analytical data. If I'm a manager and say find me a striker with good movement, scores from crosses and covers 5k of ground per game I'm pretty sure analytical data will find a list of strikers that cover that criteria far more quickly than sending scouts to go and find them. Scouts are still important but the days of scouts going out to find players are in the first instance are gone. |

By all means keep the model but if Rodgers is gone, surely the transfer committee needs looking at too? |

Why Rodgers over Kenny's 2nd time? he won the league cup and made the fa cup final in his first season, Rodgers did nothing in my eyes, but a big thanks from Suarez.

Whatever they have told Klopp about it and how it works he must of been satisfied or he wouldnt agree to it. I'm not against it per say but thats only if there is a change on how it operates as it clearly didnt work under the last Manager. |

![]() Also replying to a question asking when Jose Mourinho called himself the special one, Jurgen Klopp calls himself the normal one.

Words to the effect: " The transfer committee is not a problem; as long as I have the first word and the last word " .
Well, yes that's the way it should always work. The manager says he'd like an attacking LB and a pacey winger, and the team go an look for those types of players, compile the stats, find the videos etc and the possible candidates are offered to the manager who tells the Chief exec his preferred 1,2,3 and it's then upto to him to geta deal for the top target. It goes tits-up when the middle men start pushing the players they prefer. It seems obvious that's what happened with Rodgers ( and to an extent it was also a problem with KD and Comolli ). I hope Klopp has the personality and FSG the sense the overcome any over-inflated egos that might be in the middle of the committee. |

I think about it like owning a car. It's no use getting a fantastic deal on a new Mercedes gear box if you own a BMW. It feels like all too often the committee has been buying players based on their availability and perceived quality rather than if they would actually fit the team or a need in the team. I suspect Rodgers never had a strong enough personality to properly oppose the committee or lead it effectively. I get the feeling Klopp won't be like that.

Spurs supporter here.
I think you've got a gem in Klopp, he really could be the next top manager. Exciting times for you, enjoy them, I've got the feeling he could get you right back to the top. |
