I have got an Hitachi with Project Amber v2.46
Will this get an update or is this just for the Project Emerald box's?

I've always wondered so I'll ask.

Just how quickly does a new version of the firmware filter through to the boxes on sale on the high street? Or online too, while I'm asking.

Cheers Tom

Hang on.... The DTG site is listing 1.21.8 as a repeat update, not a new. It could well be 1.21.3 again. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Regarding how long it takes for new firmware to reach boxes on sale, that's a hard one to answer. Once an update has been approved, all newly manufactured units will have the new software, and then it is a matter of how quickly the units take to reach Argos from Turkey, and to be distributed to the stores. Probably it can happen within 2-3 weeks, but it also depends on how much old stock the retailers still have in store or in the warehouses. I know that when v1.11 was the latest, there were still people getting sold v1.02 or v1.05 boxes several months after v1.11 boxes had been shipped.

Was just curious.

Just in case we ever get a new box and miss the last over the air update like we did with our 7650 box. Although you now have the downloads available on your site if I remember correctly.

Cheers. Tom

It was still reading 'N' when I had an early breakfast this morning.

No update found on my Bush v1.20.2 box so far, so I suspect it is Hitachi only again.

No - its a broadcast OAD via the aerial. The internet updates are still at v1.20.2 for Bush and v1.21.3 for Hitachi, currently.

Just had it confirmed that the OAD is indeed a repeat broadcast of v1.21.3 for Hitachi boxes only - the information on the DTG site is incorrect.

Vestel didn't. Looks like a typo - in some fonts a 3 could be mistaken for an 8. I'm not sure who is ultimately responsible for the information that appears of the DTG site.
