As Les Coker committed a crime when he knowingly organised the cremation of the wrong body with Nick's first funeral, how is it that he hasn't been arrested?

It seems to have been forgotten. Who was the other body? I think this needs to be dealt with. Surely the police would investigate? Do the police even know?

That storyline was a total farce, let's face it.

Yes, it was a total farce. The body was supposedly someone who died in the old people's home that Charlie worked in. Any Funeral Director caught falsifying cremation paperwork and deliberately having the wrong body cremated would be serving time by now for doing so. This was one of the sillyest storylines I can think of.

In order for him to be caught, arrested and/or punished, it would be necessary for it to be reported to the police in the first place. Presumably the fake body was one which had no relatives and wouldn't be missed.

As Nick subsequently died and the police were involved they would have had to have found out about the fake death and funeral. Yes, the body used to mislead Dot was a person with no relatives and would not be missed BUT whenever someone dies there is legal paperwork required before a cremation can take place and that paperwork would have been in the name of the deceased person, not Nick a Cotton. You can't just put a body into a coffin, put someone else's name on the coffin and have a funeral for that person.

No one was cremated at the fake funeral..the body was returned to the care home....they did say....it was for appearances only.....no one in authority ever knew about the 'funeral'

Don't recall hearing that the body was returned to the care home. They did however have a funeral service and cremated remains were given to Dot afterwards.
