Different types of 'Schnapps' question?
I know the most common types of Schnapps I've had in Austria and Germany are Apple, Pear and Plum and they have a flowery fruity taste.
However I once bought some Chocolate schnapps in Spain and it was a very syrupy heavy liquid. Is this real schnapps? Surely you can't make it from chocolate. I also saw other flavours like Vanilla and Banana. I tried some peach schnapps too in Spain but like the chocolate schnapps it was overly sweet and a syrupy heavy liquid. Are these real schnapps? |

Sadly, yes. Schnapps comes in everything from butterscotch to root beer and every fruit flavour you can conceive. How good or bad they are depends on individual preference for sugary alcoholic beverages.
