Upgrade to BT 76Mb/s

Good morning,

I received a letter yesterday offering me an upgrade to Infinity 2 for less than I pay now for Infinity 1. I've taken BT up on the offer which should be activated by Tuesday.

Now, I'd like some advice on the stats that my HH5 currently shows. Currently, with Infinity 1 I've had a really rock solid connection. It's never gone down, always maxed out when I need it to both download and upload, even in the evenings.

These are my current line stats from my HH5, the Noise margin does concern me a little (I think?), but coming from a lifetime of having Cable broadband, I don't really understand what it means.

6. Data rate: 9995 / 39993
7. Maximum data rate: 23247 / 72547
8. Noise margin: 15.4 / 15.7
9. Line attenuation: 16.1 / 15.4
10. Signal attenuation: 15.9 / 15.5

Can anyone shed any light on my stats and maybe recommend what sort of speeds I'll see from Infinity 2?

Thanks

The maximum data rate should in theory be what you can get, so around 19999 / 72547

No problems with the noise margin. It is high as your line speed is not currently running at its full capacity due to being capped at 40/10

You will probably be below the max attainable but it should certainly fly like a good'un

Just in case anyone was interested, here are my line stats after my upgrade today:

6. Data rate: 20000 / 73917
7. Maximum data rate: 23236 / 73732
8. Noise margin: 6.5 / 6.5
9. Line attenuation: 16.1 / 15.4
10. Signal attenuation: 15.9 / 15.5

And yes, it certainly is flying like a good un'

Hopefully when G.INP gets enabled on my ECI cab, I'll squeeze every last drop out!

Thanks both for your input.

There is nothing left to squeeze out and with them stats if BT were ever to work out how to implement G.INP on an ECI cab you certainly wouldn't get it on your line, you are running that close to the max attainable there clearly are no issues with the line.
