So Joanie and Kyle are making a return to the Dales in the next few weeks .

To me it seems too early to bring back Kyle and it seems like Cain will end up taking in his son to raise with Moira which again seems pointless as they already are raising Noah .

Kyle is still so young . I would have waited until he was 11 or 12 and a real tearaway who shows up in the village looking for his dad .

It does seem a bit out of nowhere, but I'm sure they have a plan. Anything that gives Jeff Hordley something good to do is fine with me, to be honest. I'm quite intrigued.

Yass! I love Cain's mean ass!

I can't wait for this. Does this mean Amy is coming back too?

Out of pure self interest, I'm just happy to have a Cain story
Also it will be good to see Jeff Hordley having a potentially good story that isn't just about clearing up other people's messes

I wasn't a fan of Joanie man so I'm not looking to this, is she a guest or is she here now forever?

I doubt she'll be around for long. She will probably meet with an unfortunate fate so that Cain/the Dingles/Kerry/whomever will have to look after Kyle.

Three cheers for fictional death.

how would they write it though? if Cain keeps Kyle and Amy doesn't return it wouldnt make sense.

surely one of the Geordie gob a lots would tell Amy he was in the village and based on how she left she wouldnt stay away.

Plus I think Mr Dingle might be busy with other things to be bringing up a child!

Moira and Zak/Lisa would probably end up doing most of the work. Cain will just saunter in as and when and do Jai's 'My Son' nonsense if he thinks Kerry or anyone else interferes too much.

Joanie will either end up dying or be too old/ill/incompetent to look after him, Cain will take him then (even though adoption doesn't work like that) and Amy will be nowhere to be seen.

As soon as it was announced I expected that it'd lead to an eventual Amy return. Joanie will end up dying in whatever the Summer disaster is, leaving Cain to look after Kyle full time, probably fighting with Kerry to have Kyle. Val will get into contact with Amy and tell her about Joanie, Amy comes running back later in the year.

Kyle might also cause more trouble for Cain and Moira who seem to be about to go through a rough patch with whatever Charity's bombshell is, along with her return later in the year.

lol think Cain might be more responsible for the moira bad patch in his coming actions than the charity bombshell.

Can't see moira putting up with too much of that crap, even though she's very maternal herself.

Yes I think Cain's going to be under a lot of pressure with
Spoiler
and then they'll have problems with
Debbie and Adam as per. I bet they'll be on the verge of splitting up soon

That shouldn't affect Cain and Moira.
They CAN'T turn Cain into the village chief babysitter/child minder!!!!

Hate Joanie man
Hate orange Amy man even more
Not overly fond of Kerry man
The brat returning could bring awful Amy man back, and I'd rather have it off with greasy Ross than have Aaronetta in the village again
Cain being turned into Maria Von Trapp isn't funny Leave the sprog, tell Moira to put up and shut up and turn back into old Cain
Not happy with this storyline

That is a shame, I would love to see him trailing off to the swings with any other babies that he probably has fathered over the years.

I feel that we don't know enough about this storyline yet to judge it properly.
Children are difficult to include in bigger stories because of the actors' stricly limited working hours, plus there already is the ongoing story centered around the battle for Archie's custody. I therefore strongly doubt that the writers would bring back Kyle unless they had something good up their sleeve.

I just think it is ridiculous. Joanie is the adopted grandmother. If she needs help she should turn to the council first not the biological family. Amy signed away her rights when she had him adopted. The birth father has no rights now. Will have to see how it is played out before making more comments.

She could still be having problems even if she's in the benefits system. These things take a long time to process. If Joanie's got no money (evidently something's happened) and is waiting on benefits to kick in she could easily be having to borrow. She didn't seem to have any family to help her either. Poor Joanie - food banks and payday loans for her.

What I don't understand is how she knows Cain's the dad. Does she just guess because he helped get Kyle back?

Is Cain actually on the birth certificate? Also please don't let this mean that Amy is going to come back, couldn't stand her whiney voice and she always brought the worst out in Val who has become just about bearable.

Depends what her problem is I guess. I'm sure the adoption agency offers some sort of "after care". We will have to wait and see.
