Joel bringing up work.

He's done it a few times now. Usually in relation to Marc. The first time he did it I blanked it, assuming Joel knew what he was talking about, but I thought about it afterwards and it makes no sense whatsoever. How in the blue hell is Big Brother like work/job/career? The comparison is just bizarre. Holiday? Well I could accept that (even though BB constantly goes on about the experience "being no holiday"). But work? What does Marc doing all the crap he does have to do with his line of work? And if it is like that...in what workplace is dressing up in women's clothing and dancing about commonplace? (apart from certain places of course. )

It's not just Joel. Jack has acted like this a few times too without actually saying it. So has the BB experience been reduced to "a shift at work" after all these years or was it just a cheap, albeit nonsense, shot at Marc?

I wonder if Joel even has a job.

Next time there's a questions from viewers segment on the website, Joel needs to be asked: "Joel, it was recently revealed you urinated in the House sink, do you perform such acts in the workplace?"

I suppose because like a lot of us presume here, Marc was brought in to shake up the house... I suspect he has even said to the other housemates he was drafted in.

I think Marc himself has called this a "job".

I wonder if he p*sses in the sink at work if the toilets are engaged

I'm sure I've read on here somewhere that Joel doesn't watch BB, maybe he genuinely believes it is just a very long job interview?

No Joel was clearly making the point that behaviour in terms of the way Marc talks about women would not be acceptable in everyday life. He was using work as an example of this not to compare it to BB but to try and make Marc understand why it was wrong.

The type of banter you have with mates is very different to the way we laugh and joke at work. You have to understand that while Marc might see everyone in BB as his mates that he can make rude jokes with they are not. The don't really know him at all and don't find that level of humour acceptable.

If some random stranger made the STD reference to me after 5 minutes it is completely
different to someone I have known for 20 years.

It is actually very clever from Joel to try and get through to Marc that they are not his mates or his army buddies so should be treating them a lot more like people he works with. In other words be a little more respectful in the comments and language he uses.

Great post Bluescope and I also think that we're just shown edited highlights so it could have been all out of context.

Marc thinks it's ok to be abrasive, insulting because that's who he is - like me, don't like me. Joel points out it's not "who you are" you'd have no employment if that was the case. = Marc is Fake.

Clearly a boy who has no real sense of what work actually is. You are actually fake AT WORK! That's why you get paid for it. You get paid to be the person your employers demand you to be. That's called professionalism.

Joel is one of those people who can argue for days but doesn't have the humility to examine his whole premise and realise that he does not have the requisite experience or empathy to truly understand the issue.

He'll make a successful politician.
