I know you either love him or hate him, but who would provide any entertainment if Marc wasn't in the house?

Well i was enjoying the show before without him so i'm sure i would enjoy it if he wasn't in there.

Same. I found it entertaining before. There was an aspect to it that was much less manufactured and i found the moments to be more engaging in that regard.

I laughed way more during that time because the quirky/funny moments weren't manufactured it simply came about from the group dynamics developing compared to Marc's manufactured cues which is one of the things i enjoy about Big Brother and group dynamics... those quirky/memorable moments that you can't manufacture.

That episode where conflict began out of meditation for example, i must have laughed out loud 4-5 times before the halfway mark of the episode.

All he did today was act like a 5 year old, if you find that entertaining then go down to your local primary school playground . Although, be careful , people might get the wrong idea.

I would like to see Marc go into the safe house just to see how entertaining the others are on their own, as he is totally dominating at the moment.....

However you have to remember that the day before Marc entered the house, Aaron, Amy, Sally, Harriet, Kieron, Sarah, and Eileen were in the house.
That's 7 housemates. So the dynamics are completely different, and to say that you would still enjoy the show just the same as you did just before Marc went in there you'd have to take this into account.

Watching the HL show last night it suddenly became evident to me how inanimate most of the house is, and that if Marc wasn't in that HL show it may have made BB4 look like an entertainment extravaganza.

But I do take into account the editing, and that perhaps the housemates did all sorts of entertaining things and had interesting conversations during the day for all I know. But for whatever reason BB hasn't shown that.

Whatever it was the day before Marc went in, I can't see being the same again if Marc wasn't there.

In fact if Marc is sent into the Secret Lair, BB might need to bring in another new housemate to the main house to liven it up because Marc won't be in it.

That's a slightly unfair comparison in my view because we've lost so many of the interesting dynamic characters. Sarah, Kieran, Harriet, Aaron and the twins and now Eileen in their own right were big characters within the group dynamic and losing them created a major void that's being filled by Marc/Simon right now positively or negatively depending on your viewpoint.

The likes of Danny, Chloe, Jack, Nick, Cristian haven't been the dynamic characters... they were similarly contributing to the previous group dynamic as they are now except that a few of them might have come out a bit more into their own as things shifted.

All I was suggesting was if Marc was out for a bit it would give the others a chance to step forward into the limelight, and show what they have got to give as HMs, it would be interesting to see it they could come forward and shine or just fade away.....

Totally agree. They all thought that they had made it by being in the house and proceeded to play safe and 'likeable' to the end.

Harriet was the worst with her constant poor little urchin bollox. Kieron did nothing but a Chris Tucker impression from Rush Hour and spent long days blowing smoke up Danny's arse whilst pretending to be an alpha male. The first alpha male not to make a move on any girls but act as a relationship advisor to a dweeb. The only housemate with a hint of genuine originality was the Manc girl whose name I've forgotten and maybe that says everything in itself.

Basically everyone in there signed a social contract. Take it easy, establish clear roles, remain likeable and don't rock the boat. The fat f**k will be jolly and likeable. The Tory Boy will be smart and likeable. The Hugh Grant geek will be awkward and likeable. The street urchin will be brash and likeable. The fit mama will be direct, fit and likeable. The northern lass will be salt of the earth and likeable. The old woman will be wacky and likeable. The good looking Essex-like bloke will be TOWIE and likeable. The cool black guy will be all bombastic but likeable. The femme fatale will be the misunderstood villain. And the good looking great at everything guy we don't get so he's on our watchlist.

So fricking boring. Marc and Simon particularly have added dynamics to the show that have literally forced them out of their comfort areas, cowering in the bathroom from him. It really needed that as the housemates were seemingly all writing the script with themselves as the hero with one as a cartoonish villain. It was starting to turn into the shittest version of Avengers ever.

That's a great summary. I agree for the most part, particularly with your takes on Jade and Cristian, but I hope producers mix things up a bit this week so it's not ALL about Showbiz and Marc

I thought the show was terrible before they came in. Too many inarticulate bland characters and no group dynamics. Appreciate some feel differently but Sarah and Kieron were mood controllers, with Sarah far too serious and self-important and Kieron bland and too intent on being Captain Sensible. Both were the dominant house forces though and were vying to be in charge.

The twins were nice girls but inarticulate and uninteresting. While Harriet had two settings: moaning and kicking right off.

Jade was carrying the show until Aaron's ejection. Almost everything centred around her and had she gone, it would have died a slow death. It HAD started to get a little interesting in the days preceding the twist but not much.

And another thing... swapping harpies Sarah and Harret for Marc and Showbiz was a very smart move.

If Marc finally comes out as gay in the house, that would be fabulous too. The cherry on the cake.
