No injuries we could see.

Maybe there were broken bones, but from what?

There was a loud bang.

Nothing was thrown in her direction.

She just dropped to the ground and the medics had to restart her heart.

Taken to hospital. Did she have a brain scan?

No bleeding on the brain?

Face looked a picture of health.

Her heart stopped.

Why???

What the hell killed her?

Was it ever mentioned??

Thanks.

I guess she hit her head on the ground when she fell.

So why wasn't she being treated for a brain injury? No mention of surgery??

Not a mark on her face, or where she 'hit her head'.

Yeah but that isn't good enough is it.

The blast threw out no debris, so it couldn't have been that bad. Maddie fell to the ground? Why?

Quite frankly I think her death was one of the worst thought out ones Corrie has ever done.

A far more 'realistic' one would have had Jenny kill Maddie. Like we all thought it was going in the first place.

Perhaps not. But some are. And it would have made for a 'better' Maddie exit.

An explosion can literally suck the air out of your lungs and cause death. Corrie isn't a horror film so couldn't make it too graphic.

The blast itself could have caused extensive injuries even without being hit by any debris.

I agree it was terrible and her injuries perhaps could have been explained better.

Also I'm struggling to deal with Sophie since. It seems like she is mourning a pet budgie rather than the love of her life.

Thanks for that.

It's all very well saying the blast sucked the air out of her lungs. All the injuries were internal.

The fact of the matter is Corrie should have put more effort in. How about something heavy actually flying out and hitting Maddie.

How about some cuts and blood? Okay it's not a horror movie, but there wasn't even a scratch on her. Very poor in my view.

Anyway, I still think Maddie caught up in the blast and dies was a very bad exit. Even Kal's demise was more believable yet still a bit silly.

She offed herself because she was sick and tired of doing sod all in the show apart from hanging around that waste of space Sophie Webster and pretending to be nice to Jack because she missed the little brother that she hasn't mentioned in months.

The blast wasn't that big and couldn't have caused much damage seeing as Jason and Eileen I think were at the builders yard a day or so later!
