....talk about a new low
There was no point to it and the extras looked so awkward and uncomfortable trying to act it out. It was cliched beyond belief too with the woman of course pouring her drink over the man before storming out.
Just completely ridiculous and cringey....worst soap scene since Kat and Alfie's posh restaurant fiasco in EE

I agree. It was awful. Had no point to it and badly acted.

It was dire and all because the tight-wad bloke didn't want to pay for a starter. Or something.

It really was terrible and utterly pointless.

And they left without either of them paying.

I thought they were using it to show us that no matter how much FakeGavin and Steph have lied and cheated that they are still together yet this other random couple are arguing about the cost of a starter.

TBH, I was left thinking how unprofessional they were - gossiping fairly loudly about customers (within earshot of the people they are talking about even!) and making no attempt to stop either of them leaving.

If I were Nick, the "first date couple"'s bill would be coming straight out of Steph and Andy's wages.

I thought they could have left the money on the wee plate that sometimes comes round when you ask for the bill.

It wasn't pointless was it, it was part of the storyline,as it left Steph and Andy laughing, for when Audrey walke in.

I thought they were arguing about the bill on purpose so they would storm out without any of them paying but nothing happened!

How did Steph know that they were on a first date anyway? It's not as if they were regulars so that 'stick yer beak in where it's not wanted' Steph would know the ins and outs of their private lives and I can't imagine that a couple on their first date would say to the waitress in a back street bistro 'may we have the menu please? Oh, by the way, we're on our first date, so make sure you keep an eye on us in case we inadvertently provide you with some form of entertainment'.

Not to mention their snogging on the job in full view! And I really can't take to Steph for some reason. That whole finger waving "You go sister" routine grates on me tbh.

I thought it was just me that didn't like Steph. Always poking her nose in, acting like she is better than everyone else. She seems a pretty pointless character, just there to bolster everyone else's s/ls. She is not much of an actress either tbh.

As for the first date customers, stupid, stupid, stupid. Another ham fisted attempt by The Hat to bring some comedy into the show. YUK

Have to say I do like Steph and she has real potential for the future, and I hope she is allowed to develop.,

I used to work with someone who would, almost on a daily basis, wave her finger or punch the air and, yes, say 'You go, sister'.

That did grate I must admit.

I thought they split up though and they were just together for show so Michael didn't get suspicious. But the writers seem to have ignored that plot point and just gone with them together again.

BIB If you could call that storming out, she literally strolled out the door with a calm serene face...woeful acting.....which means she'll probably reappear next month as a new character

To be honest I think you're giving the writers far too much credit there

I presume Audrey was coming in to tell Nick about Michael being in hospital and as an afterthought told Andy, it was a very awkward scene but don't know why??

Also did anyone else notice Maria found and used her last brain cell to put 2 and 2 together very quickly and realise that was why Luke thumped Andy. I literally heard the penny drop

It wouldn't be Corrie if it wasn't riddled with clichés.

I think Jonathan Harvey who wrote it must be a fan of the Channel 4 observational programme about First Dates.

She actually did have a visibly embarrassed smile on her face as she walked out
